The traditional animation and beautifully orchestrated music show how much heart, passion and dedication was put into this feature film. un altro dei 1000 motivi per cui QUESTO film doveva vincere gli Oscar!

Even in 2016 i am listening to this.forever on my favourite list of music from Joe Hisaishi. I just love how in this particular piece, Hisaishi has maintained this sense of fear and unknown-ness.? Something haunting that Kaguya has no knowledge of. Its beautifully arranged and powerful.. hah i just love Studio Ghibli in general :) So uplifting
Definitely worth two hours of my life and oh my goodness my entire life has been Ghibli Studio and Joe Hisaishi music. I am absolutely so grateful for these films and music.
I cant believe this film lost to big hero 6 , i do love that film as well, but the this is a masterpiece, from the animation , to the soundtrack, to the story and the way how the creator chose to tell it. It's a folklore that was justified by this film.
True. I think this film, should not be in the animation category, but in the Foreign countries movie's. Surely would win, because it's not a film , for children.
This movie is so underrated ergggggggg!!!! I just want to go down to the street and hand down poster, begging people to see this. I swear it would be much better than Avatar (Cameron movie) or some shit like that.
actually don't think Kaguya and Avatar can be compared (btw hating avatar is a real commonplace right now) but in the field of animation - it's a crowning masterpiece; and if animation needs some excuse for existence - this is it, they really should invent animation at least to make this work of human mind, heart and spirit.
Do you guys have some others non-popular animation titles to recommend? My contribution: Wolf Children, The Thief and the Cobbler, Les triplettes de Belleville, L'illusionniste, Song of the Sea and The Secret of Kells
The Tale of Princess Kaguya is a beautiful film directed by the great animator Isao Takahata. The ending is so depressing and painful that I wish there's a sequel. Soundtrack is emotional. Everything about it is pefection.
I was afraid to look for the second time the movie since the end of the story which is full of remorse and despair facing the end of the story. the story, the songs, beautiful animation molded into one just devastating me.
These are the real creaters of those all soundtracks ....man I bow down to all of you ....u people are just....((speachless))...really I'm thinking that most of the people just waste thier time by watching all other movies and ignore that type of movies coz they conclude that it's anime movie so eventually it's cartoon...man..I'm just begging that atleast watch them ...the emotions..the essence ...the aroma of that creation will overflow your heart with peace.......well I'm not gonna fill that comment section but give it a try to all of them.
I'm crying buckets. and that's just half the amount of crying and emotions I feel then if i'm watching the movie. Masterpiece doesn't even cut it. Soul lifting is a more fitting phrase to describe both the movie and the score.

We want Kaguya's Precession Song in our own funeral
Even in 2016 i am listening to this.forever on my favourite list of music from Joe Hisaishi. I just love how in this particular piece, Hisaishi has maintained this sense of fear and unknown-ness.? Something haunting that Kaguya has no knowledge of. Its beautifully arranged and powerful.. hah i just love Studio Ghibli in general :) So uplifting
Definitely worth two hours of my life and oh my goodness my entire life has been Ghibli Studio and Joe Hisaishi music. I am absolutely so grateful for these films and music.
Notice that the Celestial Being song never end. It just keep on going.
This represent the immortal life and never ending happiness of moon people.
ohho55m i think is more like never ending sadness that can’t go back to earth
Definitely Hisaishi's most underrated score. People don't talk about it enough.
10:08 ohhh dios, esa parte!!!
Mee too
A rare beauty. I was getting goosebumps every second that special transition came over and united those souls of musicians.

Spotify
This movie is so underrated ergggggggg!!!! I just want to go down to the street and hand down poster, begging people to see this. I swear it would be much better than Avatar (Cameron movie) or some shit like that.
Don't be mad on avatar Bro', It's not the same thing!!! it's like waterworld and the Exxon Valdez, underrated, ok, but really good for the versed!!!^^
why recommend someone to see one peice when they should see the whole gallery while they are there?
oh shit :)) by Avatar I mean the one by James Cameron. You know how people said it's a masterpiece. This movie's a fucking master master piece.
actually don't think Kaguya and Avatar can be compared (btw hating avatar is a real commonplace right now) but in the field of animation - it's a crowning masterpiece; and if animation needs some excuse for existence - this is it, they really should invent animation at least to make this work of human mind, heart and spirit.

There's not, but there is one great anime: Tonikawa Over the moon for me.
You'll understand! Watch it.
I was afraid to look for the second time the movie since the end of the story which is full of remorse and despair facing the end of the story.
the story, the songs, beautiful animation molded into one just devastating me.
Una verdadera obra maestra imperecedera. Espectacular. Maravillosa. Me faltan calificativos.
09:37 His smile matching with the music makes me cry ;^; You can see he's proud
I want them to play the riff at 10:33 during my funeral
Hola...

Because the music is played by the Buddha’s music team, it’s even weirder if Buddha’s team play sad music to pick the princess.
I don't know what was the best for the film, if the music or the art work animation. Both are at the same level of greatness.
...... Es muy muy hermoso
Obio Xd
I wish to be the audience to witness the orchestra by him :')
Warabe Uta is amazing. it is shining in the beginning of the whole song

Gorgeous music, beautiful movie. I wish Joe Hisaishi was recognized at the Oscars
4:07 fills with hope, serenity and melancholy all at the same time. Best part for me
I'm crying buckets. and that's just half the amount of crying and emotions I feel then if i'm watching the movie. Masterpiece doesn't even cut it. Soul lifting is a more fitting phrase to describe both the movie and the score.
Joe Hisaishi's music alone is so out of this world. It makes me feel every conceivable emotion and more all at once!
The procession of celestial beings me hace llorar apenas la escucho 🥺 Que película tan hermosa
Simplemente maravillosa
13:55 Joe Hisaishi es Buda.
+YouVHS nop, he are God
+Jared Habu Actually, he is most famous film music composer in Japan. In this clip he was conducting his own music
I'm pretty sure YouVHS is referring to Hisaishi's hand gesture and the particular scene in the movie this music is matched to.
I would have really liked to watch the 25ft year studio ghibli concert live..
I love the one at 04:54 there's so much emotion in that piece! Perfect for the scene!
I really love that piece, it made its corresponding scene one of the most emotionally gripping in the whole movie.
who else also cries everytime 9:28 hit. Something about that note is just so beautiful, like so so beautiful it makes you cry happy
The notes on 09:29 are my favourite part
9:00 onwards. Oh my god. Their are no words.
Indeed :)
I have never heard anything so beautiful. It made an old man cry.
11:18 this wonderful music always reminds me my moments in Japan and always will be.
