😆 🤣 Jess Girl...you remind me so much of myself with baby names!! My husband and I did the same thing while trying to think of names for our babie girls. We did finally compromise if he came up with the 1st name then I got the middle..hands down..no do-overs. For sure tho when ya'll figure out names for your child(ren) you will know. Hi Jess…I am a veteran who suffers from PTSD and anxiety. I know exactly how you feel and what you mean by trying to do your best. What helped/helps me is God, Counseling, and eventually a small dosage of anxiety medication. It took me several years to admit and accept that I needed to take medication. We in the black community often feel shame when it comes to admitting we need help with our mental health. I finally did so and it has helped tremendously!! Like night and day! Anyway, I hope and pray this helps you and that you will stay encouraged. ❤

It's growing on me lol, but tbh i love the meaning more than the actual name that's why I was struggling with it. I just want my kids to love their names cuz i never liked mine as much as my mom would reassure me how beautiful it was I was like girl why did you do that lol the same way my husband has the same middle name as his dad and his grandfather and he doesn't love it, he was like we're def not handing that to our child, but i feel like the same thing would happen again.. idk. but we'll cross that bridge when we really get to it, we're just throwing things around right now
I absolutely love the power behind the ancestor name and think that would be awesome for a middle name.. That child could explain the meaning and be proud of where he came from..

Love the meaning and strong ties to your grandfather’s African culture & ancestry! Our names always had real meanings in the African culture.
The “Instill in my future kids” list is beautiful! My favorite is “being fair with daughters and sons”. I am 1 year older than my brother but I was treated like I was 10 years younger 😭 It’s nice that even as a man he sees that, that isn’t right.

As soon as Jonathan said Archibald Monteath, my ears perked up. I immediately recalled a book written by Professor Maureen Warner-Lewis (University of the West Indies) on the historical figure by the same name -- _Archibald Monteath: Igbo, Jamaican, Moravian_ (2007) -- which the Wallace family may be aware of.
I care Jess..alot of us deal with anxiety and it can hold us back from being great.

I too have been suffering from real bad anxiety and some people definitely don't understand or have the compassion needed especially when the anxiety is on a level 1000. I love the Great x7 Grandfather’s name it STRONG WITH Amazing meaning behind it!!! I couldn’t stand my middle name because EVERYONE has it but when I was told the story of how I got my name… Now I LOVE it!!! I passed my middle name to my daughter. To this day I wish I would’ve name my son the name I was going to name it because of the reasoning and meaning. Now that I’m 37 years old I worry about the reasonings and meanings of why and what for.
I hope the video was worth the wait. It’s so wild he took that long. My sis got married in June and had her video before out of town family even went back home.
Anxiety is a killer. I’ve been trying to rely on the lord in those moments that are overwhelming. Also one of my fave reminders is “the people that mind don’t matter. And the people that matter don’t mind”. So be honest with your loved ones, they care more than you think and will be happy to support you through the hard times.

I think what you shared at the end is sooo important. When our people start acting differently with no explanation, we should check in with them instead of drawing our conclusions about what's going on. It's still up to them to share with you, but at least offer them a space to do that if they want.

I really love the ancestor middle name. It's a beautiful name and his reasoning behind wanting it makes it even more special. Also the vlog wasn't boring at all. If anything it was realistic bc that's how most of us spend our days.
