Stepping up your game. What a great review and discussion about these speakers. Very intriguing products, but probably not everyone's cup of tea or coffee. I'm sure they will find their niche. Thanks as always, my friend, for your time and efforts to share this with us all.Take care and have a good weekend.
This was a big help! Went to my local A/V store looking for the JBL and the guy recommended me the Klipsch instead. Never heard of Klipsch but love my other JBL products
Great video! Dare I say the Bose wave radio probably still the best in the genre? However, that JBL quadrex grill look gets my juices flowin! Although I have never owned a JBL product, that damned quadrex foam look gets me every time. L100 classic in blue, oh baby. I do hope you have the ability to review more JBL speaker offerings, such as the L52 or L82. The L100 Classic are on my endgame wishlist, for their sound, and well, to just look at those hot quadrex grills!
Yeah... the Quadrex grill on the 200 isn't the same soft foammaterial as the L series... it's more of a facilimile. It's not removable. It looks good though!
Ok this is freaky. I was just playing around with my Klipsch One phono, last night. Then, wake up to find this.😮 Poor thing has been in the garage for months. Just picked up a Divinyls tape and the kitchen tape stash has been growing…time to fetch the work horse Technics 218 deck from the basement, (been 4yrs at least), SOB ran like a champ. We were getting a little sound stage and the Klipsch sound is there. Great detail. The trouble is “the One” is a gateway drug…lead me to “the Fives”…which are way better than they should be. How long until “the Sevens” start hanging around. Then the next thing you know…Cornwalls and Forte’s are giving you “the big eye”….it’s a slippery Klipsch slope my friends…🍻
I've had The Fives for 2 years as a soundbar replacement and small music system in my Living Room. Good stuff... especially after they upgraded the app! Thanks for watching and sharing!
Being sort of a Klipsch fanboy, I like the looks of the Klipsch myself, and like the Klipsch sound, though I've not heard either of those. I did build my own shoebox speaker that looks similar to that Klipsch speaker, but doing DIY means I couldn't fit the amplifier inside. Oh well. Thanks for the review!
You can't compare these speakers without diving into the smart speaker function of the JBL. Chromecast works flawlessly and works very well as a RUclips music companion. It's nice to have a google hub max with the sound controls and album art playing when I'm in the kitchen.
Just a FYI, I purchased two Authentics 500 only to find out you CANNOT pair them together for stereo mode as advertised. JBL support said they are aware of the problem and it should be corrected in a future firmware update but they had no idea when that would happen. Not happy.
I just found this channel, and really like it. This review however, is a little confusing. The Klipsch sounds better and is considerably cheaper, but lost? That didn't make any sense to me. Maybe it's just because I love bang for buck when it comes to audio value, but I'd call that a win. Also, you can get the new Heritage inspired, Klipsch One Plus for $249, and the larger Three Plus for $399, which both have app support. They also both have Bluetooth 5.3, and a USB-C port which can power a Wiim mini apparently. The larger Three Plus also adds RCA inputs, and a ground for hooking up a turntable
I had to judge based on the retail price. Many people will pay 395 for the Klipsch. I said they were both overpriced. Streaming over bt and looks and functionality made JBL the overall winner for me. I'm not necessarily buying a countertop speaker for audiophile souls. Klipsch sounded a little clearer to my ears . Thanks for you comments. I get it.
Great review, but I got to thinking, can you get the Klipsch without the McLaren stuff on it cheaper? I have nothing against McLaren, but usually when a product comes out and it has any F1 ties to it, it's more the say one that's just normal production product. I think I made sense with that, lol. Keep up the great work.
I just bought the Klipsch McLaren for 198 on sale And then used a discount code to cut the tax. Going in my shop I’ve always liked McLaren since I was a kid.
I have the klipsch three on top of my fridge for listening to music and podcasts while I'm cooking or doing dishes and even though I have much better systems in the house, it serves that particular purpose incredibly well
I'm not trying to be negative, but your review of these speakers is nothing short of confusing & contradictave. You said the JBL is a better "value," yet the Klipsch cost you less. You said the JBL has more features but the Klipsch sounds better. And you gave the win to JBL?? I personally couldn't care less about "apps" & all the bells & whistles speakers have! I'm more concerned about what a speaker is actually used for & that's how they sound! But any-hoo...very confusing review.
Admittedly. I think I said that myself. The JBL won in more categories for me. At the end of the day they are both overpriced. Because of sales and fluctuating pricing it hard to know what you'll end up getting one for. For me it was streaming vs Bluetooth and looks that won it ultimately. Thanks for watching and for your comments.
Sunday, Sunday, Sunday !! Thanks for the shoot out video! I really enjoyed it! I've got the Klipsch Three on the bedroom dresser. It sounds decent for what it is (we won it in a raffle, so I could say it sounds really good!). Using voice command, we Google cast our Spotify music and podcast playlists and can ask for weather and trivia facts like "Hey Google, will an extinction level asteroid hit the earth today?" I agree that the stereo separation is basically non-existent with these. Desk top units this size sound slightly better than the ubiquitous portable Bluetooth speakers on the market. But the JBL & Klipsch definitely look nicer. The Klipsch Three has real walnut, metal trim / metal knobs and vintage looking speaker cloth. Sadly there are no inputs. It's handsome enough, but I don't think I would have plunked down the green to buy it for myself. I wonder if there's a wood trimmed, long soundbar (something other than a standard black finish) that may give a noticeable stereo image, have a furniture look and have features like the JBL and Klipsch for streaming, BT. audio inputs and stays priced close to $500 (maybe more if it would have a sub out and sub to match)? Since soundbars seem to always be about TV sound, it may be too niche to have a similar form factor for having a 2.0 or 2.1 sound system for an office / bedroom)? But it could be a way to get stereo separation without separates.

Thanks, Simon! Overpriced, limited appeal products to be sure. See you next time!
I have been waiting for this, thanks man :)
Glad I could be of assistance! Thanks for watching!

All them sonos in the closet not being used? Would you possibly donate a feller one of those? I live in ky if makes any difference lol
Not sure who at Klipsch thought that McLaren stuff would be cool, but those things are not appealing. At all, nada.
JBl has the edge in the looks and curb appeal department. Not sure how those licensing deals go. Thanks for watching!
Might appeal to gear-heads and F1 lovers, but need to look more utilitarian to look in-place in a garage. 🤣
You're so wrong,
I just care about sound. And klipsch is easily better
Klipsch supplies the audio and comm equipment for the McLaren f1 team so that's why they have the McLaren collabs

Sorry to hear that! This is becoming a trend... releasing first, updating later!
Thank you for a fantastic video another piece of a legacy
How about putting the Klipsch the Three Plus and the JBL Authentics 300 up against each other?!?

Klipsch One II McLaren is on sale for $199, will that work for you?
The Klipsch One II McLaren are on sale now for $199 plus shipping.
I'd take either one. They're both my favorites. I'm a gear head, so McLaren appeals to me, but the JBL has that nostalgic flavor. Coin flip.
Go JBL... so much MORE functionality! Thanks for taking a look!
@@UnitedStatesofAnalog The music gets my vote, and the Klipsch One II McLaren is on sale for $199.
I just bought the Klipsch The One 2 Mclaren Edition, they were on sale for $200 and free shipping.
For that money, Klipsch wins every time.
I just bought the Klipsch McLaren for 198 on sale And then used a discount code to cut the tax. Going in my shop I’ve always liked McLaren since I was a kid.
Rock the shop!

I have the klipsch three on top of my fridge for listening to music and podcasts while I'm cooking or doing dishes and even though I have much better systems in the house, it serves that particular purpose incredibly well

Licensing issues on RUclips

Klipsch One II McLaren is on sale for $199!
Your absolutely right. I care more about the quality of the sound. This is the main reason you buy a speaker.
Sunday, Sunday, Sunday !! Thanks for the shoot out video! I really enjoyed it!

Because Marshall is in a class of their own..
Their speakers are a licensing deal.
The JBL is ugly
Four little words! I could have saved time in my review!
Dude, have you not learned anything from RUclips? Nobody wants to hear talking we can judge for ourselves. Please RUclipsrs stop this
Why did you watch? But I'll let the other great RUclipsrs know!
