My mother passed away and took her last breath. I was by her bed with my siblings, I was strong and hid my sorrow. I kissed my mum goodbye. Then drove home still numb and that’s when this song started playing on the radio. My emotions came to surface, I pulled over and broke down and cried. I will never forget that time. I miss my mum and this song reminds me of her. 😢🌟❤️
Just heard this 3am this morning, woke me up from my dream, sorry it took me ten years to hear it,and hear of this group, who says you can't appreciate new music at 55, awesome.
Spewin you only just found this. And not in 2013. I had to hum into google to find Golstrom-embrace which also came out in 2013. You may also like some Annie Hamilton. Not as strong of a voice but she has a cute lil voice and her songs are great 🤙🏻🇦🇺
this song used to be my depression song. I played it everyday. I have no one just me myself back then. struggled alone and lonely. this song was my companion. I felt calmed. I'm glad I am strong and now I'm healing and grateful with my life. I have people I love and care so much and life getting better and better.
listening to this song while watching people walk by, cars drive by, slow breeze hitting your face and hair, the sun about to set, golden red painted sky, you take a moment to shut out the world, and take in the immensity and magesticity of the world, and everything that you've been through, the way life has shaped in your memory, and everything life will bring to you next.
this song is the feeling of waking up from an afternoon sleep, right after you open your eyes, when for a moment you have no idea about your problems or worries and just see the light coming through the window and say to yourself "wow, that's beautiful". (and i'm grateful to have this song because frankly i rarely have time for the afternoon sleep part) but before i get any more self-indulgently poetic: i wanted to share a song called "a sign" by seaside, because it reminded me of this, and because it deserves more views. it has the same kind of relentlessly hopeful vibe as this song or hey now - listen to it and then spread the word :)
Coming back to this song always helps me to bring to the surface the emotions I have been hiding or keeping away from others. I’m strong for others to only be away to break into a million pieces when I’m alone. When I’m done, I do my best to pick up all the pieces and move forward. Thank you LG for helping me process all the pain.
maybe think about this...open up to all the people you have been strong for, they may surprise you...after all we are only human.being strong is also telling people you need help, something i learned from my best friend before he past,lg was his favourite band he loved this song, and i always come back to this...
Appreciate your candid sharing. Know there are millions who do the same. What a difference we could all make to openly acknowledge the pain we all feel at times-and support each other through it. I vow to. Be well.
I’m blown away by her voice - I mean it’s eerie, ethereal, haunting and like malt whisky - I don’t know - it’s like molasses, thick but clear. Love this and I’m here from The Nest!
I am a USMC Veteran and I remember my last year in the service, I was hollow inside. I relied heavily on this song to help me push through the pain, this was 2015. After all these years, post-therapy and all, I am grateful for living this life and I've conquered the storm inside. F;ght On!

In what sense 'strong'? I got a feeling of a loving bond between father and daughter, and it's all that is required. No need for 'empowerment' nonsense.
I fist found this song/video when my daughter was due to be born in a few months. For me, it was a song about parenthood and burning as bright as you can as a teacher, parent and protector for the benefit of your child. And in turn they will be able to watch, learn, and be amazed so when your own flame begins to dim, they’ll be there to tuck you in at night.
One of the best songs ever. By one of the best voices ever. Never will I forget the warm summer night in 2013 when THIS voice came out of my car radio while driving through the night. It was so touching that I felt my convertible lifting off, rising into the dark sky, full of stars... fading away into deep universe...
This song rips your heart into pieces and then puts it back together , it’s one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard and her voice is like heaven
Im seeing many people in the comments sharing about lost loved ones. I wanted to express somethong to all of you. I personally havent had anyone very close to me pass but i know it could absolutly detroy me. I wont fully understand untill it happens. But i do feel alot of empathy for you all❤ I really don't mean to be cheesy or dismissive of anyones pain. But there is something I do beleive and keep in mind. All I know for a fact is that energy can never be destroyed. Only transfered. I don't know where that energy goes of a passed loved one, but just know it doesn't die. I think where ever they go, they are being loved and taken care of. I also think energy transfers between people, leaving imprints. Transfering part of them into you. A soul connection that is Forever. ❤ sending everyone love and thank you all for sharing.
The relationship between a daughter and her father. And how even through adversity and what could be considered an ordinary job, he still manages to provide for her and she sees her hero and how STRONG he is for them. I just want to pick up my girls and give them the biggest hug. @London Grammar - Loved this song when it first released in its beauty, the vocals, the music, the harmony. Loved it every day since. THANKYOU
+stephanie deceuniginne Her voice sounds like the opposite of fragile... Not saying it's bad, simply that "fragile" isn't the word I'd use. I'd use "smooth" or "tuned".
+Nyxato I would use "smooth" for Sade or Judie Tzuke, "tuned' too sounds odd. I thing "fragile" here is not meant in the sense of "weak'' of course that isn't the case, but the atmosphere has something "gently depressive", hence fragile.
Benoit Vanhees Then gentle would've been a better word considering gentle doesn't = fragile. You say that like if it's flawless logic but it really isnt.
Nyxato My name ain't Spock, sir, whatever my logic is or isn't, I'm always open to change my point of view based on arguments. When Sting is singing about "fragile", what do you think he meant ? I have been thinking for the right adjective for LR's singer, and up to now I haven't nailed down THE word that sums it up. The word "sensual' would not be right, because that would involve a more "positive", less plaintive way of singing. Sensual was sometimes, not always true for Kate Bush. Sensual would be right for let's say Loreena McKennitt or Enya. Fragile is also not the word I would have chosen, though I understand what the one who launched it meant. And as a male listener, doesn't plaintive vocals always bring up the hidden knight in us, whether the nowadays "damzels in distress" like it or not. It's something automatic. But she doesn't sound 'plaintive" like Adele or Fiona Apple, which to me is a bit over the top. Maybe two words together are needed do describe it, maybe she has found a spot in the musical spectrum which makes it very difficult to find anyone who she could be compared with ? Even let's say the soft complaining of the front woman of the Motels isn't exactly the same. To describe LG, you'd need to put together elements such as purity, sensuality, the plaintive part, the fact that she reduces her singing to the core, the strict necessary in a highly effective way. Hats off for the one who finds the right word !
Benoit Vanhees 29 lines of text, you arent fucking around. *salutes*. Laters. Not emotionally invested in this enough to read that so uh... you wasted your time writing it. Good job.
Whenever I’m alone, or I’m in my feelings, I put this song on and I don’t know why somehow it gives me hope that life is hard but you can get past it. I listen to this song with tears pouring down my eyes, such a calm, peaceful song. What’s worse is growing up emotionally destroyed I’m on my own. But this song is EVERYTHING❤️ music is really your escape to everything
If i have a moment that i feel sad or everthing seems to be shot...ill listen to this number...i cry and i feel much better...its like my breakingpoint that i need sometimes
Found this song today and can’t stop listening. The most amazing and beautiful song I have ever heard. Has taken my breath away. Closest thing to perfection I have ever heard ❤️
This song reminds of November 26th, the day my house got destroyed by the worst earthquake we had ever had in 40 years. We were listening to this song in the radio as we were driving away from my hometown and as our heart was shattered in pieces. It was the first time I saw my parents cry, the people who have always given me strength and hope. I will forever be traumatized by this event. It’s almost hard to believe how small and unimportant we are in this planet.
Stunning voice... & thanks for letting her sing & not drown her voice out with music. Music is fabulous too. And of course, the spellbounding video. Thank you. 🎉
for me, this song represents that part inside of all of us we know we need to let out (lion roaring), our inner child needing healing (child crying) and then the line “caught in the middle” representing those moments in life where you’re caught in a transitional period of who you once were and who you’re becoming and how painful and alone it can feel. once we listen to the strength inside of us and heal our inner child we can get get through those transitional periods. what an emotional song. it seems to purge any stagnant, old energy im holding onto and allows me to just cry. love it.
My wife passed away and it's been 3 years now but when ever I listen to this i have tears in my eyes she loves tgis song so much and this will forever remind me of her... RIP my beautiful angel 🕊️
London grammar est un des rares groupes musicaux, avec Coldplay à continuer à nous fournir des petits joyaux comme celui-ci. Voix merveilleuse. J adore.
And when your son or daughter, is born, you really want to become a shelter, a shield, a fire of love, the most patient teacher and the best friend. A hero, their hero, and the best father they could have. And all the sacrifices are nothing, all the pain and the struggling have a meaning, and you are willful to take them all. May you rise toward the greatest heigh of happiness in this life, my beloved children.
Just watched episode 14 of GENERATION..This song played as the episode ended.. Riley rode in Chester's car.. top down.. Her hands flowing in the air...This song playing. Absolutely PERFECT choice song! The emotion.. Me remembering the feeling of my youth,Hands and hair flowing in the wind and my eyes closed just taking it all in. This is a beautiful song and its a beautiful show.
This song came out 10 years ago when I had to be moved from my foster grandparents house, into other foster placement and various support accommodation. Just heard this song again today such a wave of emotions
@@NicolaRoberts-bw9umyeah life a bit better now I'm in my own flat, struggling with alcohol/ drug addiction and mental health issues, (due to gender dysphoria)and most of my friends and family have given up on me, but at least I'm still alive.
Absolutely love this!! Hannah's voice gives me goose bumps and I think they made a wise decision to make the accompanying instrumentation understated and subtle, letting her voice take center stage. As an aside, when so many modern "artists" are without talent and are only popular because they flaunt their sexuality, it's a breath of fresh air to see a band that is simply excellent. Hannah usually dresses in jeans and a sweater with very little makeup and simply wows us with her vocal range and tone. A TRUE artist!!
I find it hard to listen to this in front of people as it rips through my soul so bad it makes me cry. on my own I can't help but cry, it resonates through my entire being. Breathtaking Music
I spent a whole summer last year with my grandparents, now 2 weeks ago my grandpa passed away💔 I will always remember our chats and the laughs we’ve had. It went by so fast and unexpectedly. I just bought him a shirt and a pijama not long ago and he never had the chance to wear it, time is running out really quickly. Accept Jesus in your life before it’s too late, have a relationship with Christ and you will be saved🤍
London Grammar,my new favorite artists and it's gonna be for a long time. Thanks for sharing your songs, they speak for me. Part of my life it's written in this and specially in Wasting my Young Years.
I come here to listen to this beautiful, haunting song to take me away from my life in this cruel world if only for four minutes .. Take care all those who have lost someone close. Be strong.. you can get through this.
Anyone here in 2024? I wad listening to this song in 2013 while I was dieing in hospital after a serious motor bike crash everytine I hear this song everything disappears in my head and going back to that day where I almost lost my life... after that serious accent I become well enough to stand back up and then I lost my nan & my mum shortly after 2013 was a bad year and this song got me through it my name is darin laidler if you look up on Google my name will come up with bike crash in Ashford Kent thank you again for this song it got me through all the pain 😢 ❤️ this song will be stuck for me for the rest of my life it's been 11 years now and I'm still listening 🎶
+shaphen kreiss mystified... never heard of that word before. it sounds gorgerous. mystified, like a perfect way to describe how you feel when you see something like, the Northern Lights.
We're incredibly honoured to announce our track 'Strong' has been nominated for 'Best Song Musically and Lyrically' at BASCA's Ivor Novello Awards!

I really don't mean to be cheesy or dismissive of anyones pain.
sending everyone love and thank you all for sharing.
Your absolutely right and a wise soul. Thank you 😊 ❤
@@estelled389 awe thank you and you're very welcome. I really hope it helps a little 🥰
I was going to say that
The relationship between a daughter and her father. THANKYOU
her voice is so unreal.....this song is so cool!!!
The music compliments Hannah Reid’s amazing voice perfectly!
what a song .... one of my most favorite songs i've ever heard, that voice, so fragile ... love love love !!!!
🌺 Music is…so empowering. Definitely.
Music is the diary of my life remember and reminds me where I was
Has there ever been a more perfect match between the song and the singer's voice?
If i have a moment that i feel sad or everthing seems to be shot...ill listen to this number...i cry and i feel much better...its like my breakingpoint that i need sometimes
Found this song today and can’t stop listening. The most amazing and beautiful song I have ever heard. Has taken my breath away. Closest thing to perfection I have ever heard ❤️
TheMakdog I just found this song today and I totally agree! If ‘perfection’ was a song. Wow!!
@@Vanasse1 listen to this at least once or twice a week. ❤️
It’s almost hard to believe how small and unimportant we are in this planet.
quase 2024 e ainda estamos por aqui. QUE MÚSICA, QUE VOZ!
The answer to this is in your Tik Tok name... manipulative fuck cunt..post that mofo
London grammar est un des rares groupes musicaux, avec Coldplay à continuer à nous fournir des petits joyaux comme celui-ci. Voix merveilleuse. J adore.
London Grammar - outstanding and unforgettable. Especially this song.
Just finished The Nest. Forgot about this song until it came on! I dont know whether this song makes me want to smile or cry!
OmG... I lost myself in that scene. 😶
@@DJKryptonok I can't even tell you how many times I've watched that scene.
I cry in this scene
@@AlexMartinez-vh9jk same hunny..Same.

This song came out 10 years ago when I had to be moved from my foster grandparents house, into other foster placement and various support accommodation. Just heard this song again today such a wave of emotions
Awww I hope your ok and settled in life. Sending warm wishes ❤
@@NicolaRoberts-bw9umyeah life a bit better now I'm in my own flat, struggling with alcohol/ drug addiction and mental health issues, (due to gender dysphoria)and most of my friends and family have given up on me, but at least I'm still alive.
7 years later and I still get the feeling I had the first time hearing this master piece of creation.
This song was played at my uncles funeral. Ive never been able to hear it without crying since. For some reason i really attach this song to grief.
I'm having a horrible day. This song is so beautiful.
Kaia Butler its like it lets my soul cry
hope tomorrow is better.xx
I pray that you are better than before
What an incredible voice and an incredible track.
God she has the voice of an angel, what a powerful song.
not only her voice. his guitar his synths and beats. THIS KIDS ARE PURE GOLD.
+Dean you're so right! totally agree with you!
Music & Video = Out of this world.
I find it hard to listen to this in front of people as it rips through my soul so bad it makes me cry. on my own I can't help but cry, it resonates through my entire being. Breathtaking Music
As time passes the song will have a different feeling for you
This song always makes me choke and tear up.
***** Being sad because of music - it's good. It means you're alive. :)

Part of my life it's written in this and specially in Wasting my Young Years.

amen bro
been a fan since "hey now"
This song is just one of those songs that never gets old after you replay it hundreds of times
Her vocals are insane
❤
