  • This is a demonstration of a Self Contained Battery Driven Hydraulic Wind Turbine Tower suitable for some of the smaller Turbines from energistar.com
    This was built by an Aus living in Taiwan, as a proof of concept, with one of our early turbines on it in 2008. Great idea, but the shipping costs to UK made it uncommercial, but a great example for others to follow or get ideas from none the less.

    The wind generator is very cleverly designed at the hydraulic base, which is great. Thank you

    Easily the best built tilt tower I’ve seen. 👍👏👏👏

    Years after seeing this I used a similar base hinge and my truck to stand up a light pole by myself. Thanks for the idea!

    @Renesiz Lowering on calm days is the mere overcomplication. The idea and function of a tilt over tower is for maintenance. Without it the homeowner of a wind turbine is doomed to horrendous costs of contracting a tower climber and a crane truck to lower the turbine, repair it, & reinstall. In Iowa just the cost of a crane truck is about $150 per hour from the moment the crane leaves its shop until it returns. Don't know about tower climbers. With the tiltover its free money in the pocket!

    Hands down the best unit built, but they should have welded the base nuts inside of the base box.

      Once the hinge gets play the nuts and the holes in the top plate might not line up anymore.

    ALWAYS have a stand (with a car tyre or similar) on top to lower the mast onto! This mast this expensive needs a proper wind turbine, not a toy...

    To bad your pole isnt telescoping that would awesome then you can program it to raise or lower for best winds

    On a windy day like that, lowering and raising this tower might indeed be very dangerous, it could result in a twisted or bent tower or damage to the base unit as well as catastrophic failure of the blades/and alternator!!!! I would not take the chance !!I would wait for a calm / low wind day to do this!!

    • @JoeMalovich
      @JoeMalovich 5 лет назад

      I would bet the tower is engineered for raising and lowering even in high winds.

    so big tower for so little wind generator. a waste of money!!!.
    if i was doing this proyect, i will save the money of the tower and i place 3 wind turbines just in the roof, this place looks like has a lot of wind even in a few feets over the ground. just look the hair of the man. at least 30 MPH winds!!
