I've seen people poking the hook onto their finger nail before. I presume its to test sharpness. I would have imagined that it could blunt the hook though also what does it actually prove/how do you know your hook is sharp from poking it in your nail?
Breaching is a very apt description I would have said. We often use the term "just seen a carp breach" or is it I'm just an old git?

I remember him laughing about the Ronnie rig. Something like the only Ronnie he wants is a Ronald McDonald! How things change 😂😂😂
I can’t deny I didn’t laugh about it, but I never said I wouldn’t use it 😉 it’s a really good rig and one that I use more in my angling now than ever.
He does still prefer a macdonalds so I wouldn’t say too much has changed 🤣
just shows even professional anglers like tom are still evolving their angling and willing to use something different to succeed one of the most humble pros out there
