I totally agree with your baiting approach we had a similar thing happening on the syndicate I fish some of the anglers were putting in gallon of maggot in so the owner band all live baits hence the reason I use particle in summer and autumn and crumb in winter and spring

I would of believed it without the video. Owning koi and a big fully scaled mirror in a gin clear pond has made it possible to really learn how carp behave and it surprises me sometimes, I've got one fish that sticks with another and is aggressive towards other fish at feeding times. Definitely intelligent compared to other cyprinid species
