I ended up ordering the Mondraker Podium Carbon RR SL based on your video. Just got addicted to the clean lines of the bike. Size M, 19.58 lbs without pedals. Many thanks for the recommendation! It is the stablemate of my 2006 Klein Attitude XX (upgraded to GX AXS, new carbon crank, brakes and wheels).
Love the video, great info with sense of humor. Missed opportunity to completely nailing it though, you used pictures of intraoral mirrors but called them probes!
I just ordered my root down ti. I am so excited. Had a Kona Hot when I was a kid with a full XT build. It looked so similar to this and I had more fun on that than any other bike. So excited to not have paint to chip and zero carbon to worry about. I just want to ride and not mass with things. Root down ti was made for just that. Just ride it. Thanks man. Great video and I appreciate the time you put into this
Love the Rootdown Ti. It’s so fast, climbs crazy and is really easy to throw around. I love the no paint frame. So nice to take care of. I bought my gf a Rootdown steel in red and it’s just as fun. Honestly try one. It’s a rare bike too and either people have zero idea what it is or are all over it. Cheers man. Merry Christmas!!!
Just picked up a new HT for my son and im excited to share it with you. Got him a Commencal Ramones 24, and its sick!! Id love to try any bike on this list! What a lineup!!
Ya, definitely though about including the Ti Middlechild in there, it's my dream bike for sure! But at less than $5,000 for a complete it didn't quite make the "dentist approved" list. Ironically though, that actually makes a much better option for the rest of us normal people lol
9:49 Mondraker are not that uncommon in Norway. seen plenty on the second hand market, especially the enduro and DH bikes. even a few xc bikes. But a silly thing with their full sus bikes is they have a shock going through the seat tube, so limited insertion depth.
Wolftooth has a bike brand that makes the stainless steel Fenrir, which a 100mm ht for bikepacking. It also comes in a Ti version too that is boss looking.
They're super rad and I'd love to ride one some day! I actually reached out to see if he'd be interested in sending a bike to make some content with but sadly declined.
Building up an IBIS DV9. Second Gen. 5Dev crancks. IBIS S35 Carbons laced with the I9 Hydras. Whiskey 80mil riser. Putting a 150mm DVO Diamond up front. Purple Crush color. Gonna Be SIIIIICK!!!!!
Is this strictly an exercise in how much you can spend on a hardtail or am I missing the part where we learn whether any of these bikes is a pleasure to ride?

Nice, that thing is going to rip!! Glad the video was helpful 🤙

Thank you man, I appreciate it! I'd love to hear your thoughts on the Rootdown, as I've always wanted to give one a try!

Can’t go wrong with Commencal!
That's awesome, he's gonna love that thing!!
That’s a fun video. I was looking for the Middlechild ti because I will probably looking at the alloy one just like yours.

I am not a dentist, but trying to decide between the Orbea Alma M LTD and the Mondraker Podium RR SL.
Cool video, I really dig that Sterling stainless frame… something to think about for me 🤔
Me too man!! Looks super rad, and the geo is pretty spot on too

That sage is sick!
It really is!!

Cool thanks for sharing!!
My favorite is yeti arc 35 anniversary edition i love the colour❤❤
Hey have you even had issues with the bb? I've been scared of the pressed bb vs the threaded bb.
Did you ever do anything on the Marino hardtails? They have a Carbala prebuilt frame thats right up your ally

My dentist is a bikepacker, not sure I want his approval for my next bike...
Great list, some stuff only dentists can afford indeed 😂
Haha nice, still pretty badass of a dentist though lol!

What about mullet cycles?
Just looked them up, looks like some pretty rad bikes!!
Gimme that Starling 🥲
Right?! My favorite too!
Bro I don’t know why he has no views he’s my fav youtuber
Thank you man!!
Ibis dv9
missed it.. Neuhaus
Definitely a rad bike! But a complete for $5,000? Not dentist territory haha
Fairly easy to have your bike be worth more than your car on this list!
Oh for sure!! I think all of these cost more than any car I've ever owned lol
ARGON GTB xc bike and ARGON GEN the hardcore hardtail. Look sweet. But it's not cheap. I have a Nicolai/Geometron G1. It's artwork.
That’s rad!!
For that much money on the yeti I want more travel up front lol 😂 My R9 is better 😂
Carbon wheels have no place on Hardtails, too stiff !
But you'd never (theoretically) have to worry about truing your wheel again, not to mention the weight savings. Is it worth the trade off?
5 tampons

Sorry lost me at downcounrty
Haha like it or not, I think DC is here to stay!
