I did a year working with a guy who did 6 years with Coke, he thought me a neat trick if you think the cap tube is blocked and you need to get it going till you get parts. Block the condenser off and let the liquid line get nice and hot (not too hot to cause damage) and the pressure and heat can sometimes push the restriction thru. Got me out of a few Friday arvo specials lol
I think that's one of those absolute last resort type tricks, I wouldn't be doing that every day 😄
Apparently some techs lightly heat the capillary with a blowtorch to soften the wax/debris clogging it

I have seen guys heat the filter drier when the cap exits has helped the fridge run for a bit to get them out of trouble

Yaaaa I hate pulling out sled for that reason. I cross my fingers as I’m pulling it in/out. Every inch im moving it im checking to make sure it’s not kinking etc.
I feel the same about the fieldpiece and measurequick app. You gotta have a connection for them to work and the FP app flakes out randomly and wont work again for days. I recently got the testo Gen 2 probes and the app is great. Basic, I can use it in a mechanical room where I have no data or wifi whatsoever, and you don't gotta pay for it. Hope they don't change that. Great video! I always wondered that with those movable condensing units

Turn off cellular data for the fieldpiece app. Works great with it off.
I feel the same way about the probes I had. I had two sets and then after awhile the app was so bad I stopped using them. Ended up losing them and never replaced them and haven’t looked back haha. Compound gauges w a low lose on the high side FTW

Sometimes instead of kinking, they will crack and start leaking.

One two door but built in True I had ( in house work) snapped the line, went back in with a pair of stainless flex lines usually sold for mini split heads🙄
My fieldpiece app was having me log in every time I'd close it, even for a minute. Eventually, I un-installed it, then re-installed. Logged in once, it's been ok since.

I came across a newly installed twisted suction line on a Pioneer 1:1 Split last Saturday up here in SJ also Dave. Guess we both got twisted suction line. lol

Im not a fan of job link. Takes like 10 to 20 seconda to corelate to your screen. I had uei hub before them and they really werent bad. Nice and quick
I agree about the fieldpiece app. Buggy as hell and needs to allow for manual input. Like the probes, but the app needs attention.
I stopped using the fieldpiece probes after I got so frustrated with the dang app always wanting a login... back to old school

I really like the testo app nice and simple, FP has better range and MQ you need to imput so much info for it to work, They all need a simple setting for fast measurements. Great find and will keep that in mind with the units that slide out. Im digging the elitech minis you've been pimpin those for a while,

nothing worse than trying to check s/h inside a walkin cooler and the fieldpiece will not connect,testo for the win.
How do you bill that out? The failure was, as you said, from you pulling the condensing unit in and out. Do you cut any time out for you playing a role in the failure? Or still bill the whole thing?
