people have been trashing on this ride ever since they announced it. now that the first actual rider reviews have come out the consensus is that the ride is fantastic
I rode it 7 times. The ride is fantastic. Its also insanely rough and rattly for a brand new ride, and it should concern people if it gets worse over time like most coasters do. yes I know the tophat was already there but this should still be running way closer to smooth than it is. The ride rattles over its brand new track too, anyway.
If you haven't been on TT2 (media day), then you haven't been on Zamperlas new coasters. They have an entirely new coaster division made up of mostly former Intamin employees. The Lightning model is the 1st they have opened which is TT2, and the upcoming Thundervolt at PNE. They have acknowledged themselves that their old coasters sucked.

My immediate take was "This is somehow even more rough than Ka" which I rode the week before I still love it for the unhinged forces on the top hat. But the rattle is a problem, especially if it gets worse
That's NOT a good sign. A jolt at high speeds where new track and old connect.... hmm, sounds familiar. It's going to be difficult to get an accurate review, since there's also people that support what The Point does no matter what.
I am so excited for this ride myself. But at the same time, there is no reason for it to rattle as much as it does honestly. With all the money they spent, and trusting zamperla with the transformation....... it should be butter smooth. I also have been on king da ka as well. It is rough!
Someone on IG posted a side by side video of the OG TTD and TT2 and it looks the exact same smoothness wise. People are obsessed with a possible rattle all the sudden. Every new coaster opening...Voltron, TT2, Nemesis Returns, I imagine the same will happen with Hyperia...etc. (BTW this isn't directed at you...just a general statement 😁🤘)

TT2 is so rough studying camera footage alone, I give it a few years before they have to address the trains and/or track due to it tearing itself apart with how much shaking and shimmying the trains do, not to mention you can hear the vibrations in people's voices. It's almost like the trains have a very slight lopsided bounce to them as they roll that you can clearly see in POV videos while they're moving slowly. That will tear the track and trains up with continuous use, especially at the speeds TT2 travels.
The ride experience is actually not rough. It has a mild rattle, but you don’t really notice it on ride. If the rattle gets much worse, then that’s bad.

I'm someone who can tolerate 40 boss rides in a day and I was literally astounded at how rough and rattly the entry into the spike and tophat were. Some cycles violently slammed my back against my seat due to the jolt. You DEFINITELY really notice it on ride. Even the most passionate advocates of the new ride who put it in their top 5 coasters admit it has a surprising rattle.
@@gibiati8295 It’s probably where I sat on ride to be honest. It didn’t feel that rough on ride, the only concerns I have is if it gets rough in the future. It also mostly depends on how many people were in your train, if it’s less people, it can rattle more than it should.
I feel like this ride is gonna give zamperla a major boost in the industry. I’m excited to see what their new coaster division cooks up with their former intamin engineers!
It might be a new coaster but that won't stop us from comparing the ride experience to the original to see if it really is an improvement! Also, it's up to our own opinions to decide whether it's better or not!
I wouldn't call it rough and I wouldn't say it has a rattle. It's got a side to side shimmy on the transition from horizontal to vertical on the top hat. Both up and down, forward and backward. Ever see a race car drivers helmet bobble around a bit as gears shift, particularly when cornering? People today love theming. If it's not tearing the ride apart, just enjoy it of it as incredible theming as you corner skyward!!!

I mean, losing a Hydraulic launch was always gonna hurt TTD, but the new tophat (Excluding the awful rattle, I must admit) is an incredible, forceful, unhinged, and elite element. Its a 5 second airtime moment, mostly ejector, and insane laterals. Its brilliant. To call this new version a "ruined" ride is hideously over dramatic. The rattle sucks. The ride is still elite. The tophat on the original TTD was a joke element. Zero lateral. Zero airtime. Zero intensity. The new one is way better. I still rank TTD slightly ahead because a 120 hydraulic launch felt more insane than even the new tophat, but this new ride is still amazing.

Also, no, these are not over the shoulder restraints. Its a drop down lap bar. Over the shoulder restraints are, believe it or not over the shoulders. This should be rather obvious. Just because the loose position of the restraints sit above you does not magically make them over shoulder restraints. Over shoulder restraints secure your torso. These lap bars do not.
