I've been flying this thing for a few months. It is simply a brilliant drone for everything excluding top shelf professional projects of course. It is now also a legacy drone. For anyone considering what drone to pick right now - go for mini 3 pro or mini 4 pro. Great video Michy!
i just got the mini 3 pro and am loving it, working to perfect my video capture and editing skills. Any tips on what software to use coming from a beginner?😊
It's just a simple speed ramp - You speed up your video in post and you add an adjustment layer with motion blur on top to make it look faster & smoother ;)
I'd not film in 60 fps unless you need to slow the footage down! I'd recommend you to go for 25 or 30 fps in HDR - That gets me the best results so far :) Also if you're uploading it to Instagram it'll give you the best results there!
Thanks mate! I guess you mean "speed ramps", which is for example when you speed up the end of one clip and also the beginning of the next clip following. I hope that helps a little :)
It is really easy in Premiere pro. Not sure where the author is editing, but I recommend Premiere pro, even free versions. No need to pay for subsription.
The DJI website does not show D-Log as an option; can you confirm that you were in true D-Log, or were you actually shooting in Cinelike? Thanks for the info...it'll make or break my decision to buy at this point. If it has D-Log, I'm in!
I actually said it wrong… But the name of the color profile doesn't really matter, what matters is color depth/bitrate. I think that's what you meant anyways. Look, the "best" profile this drone has is called "D-Cinelike" and up to 30fps you'll get 10 bit color depth with this profile, which is absolutely impressive. Hope that helps for your decision :)
Hi, I got this drone for Christmas, and I read online it does 4k 24 and 30 fps, but you say it does 4k 60 fps, so I guess whatever site I visited is incorrect? Amazing footage though, excited for spring!
Hi there! Happy to hear you've got the mini 3 pro now. Lol, I guess that's right, all the sites you visited are incorrect :) It surely does 60fps in 4k, but however just until 30 fps in HDR... Maybe that's what you meant? Supported video with the mini 3 pro: "4K: 3840×2160@24/25/30/48/50/60fps". You can also find the spec sheet on dji.com Hope that helps you
The issue with water damage is that it comes up later on. Just be careful because there is a high chance it'll die and fall out of the sky, hopefully not causing any damage.
Hey, really interested in your approach for grading from D-cinelike profile to HDR-"like" profile. Saying about color space inputs and gamut. What settings did you use?
"Servus" Michy ! Thank your for your beautiful video and your 1st. impressions on the drone. Great work. I subscribed. : ) It's not easy to make such cinematic shots and you've also had to take risks to get the shot ( example: the survived tree -> water crash ). I've been happy with my 4K " mini-2 " for small holiday video's since 3 years and also crashed into a tree after a bird attack. Good luck and keep going ! Michi PS. Die you film in HDR mode or D-log, I'm not sure I understood ? Bitte, wie machst Du bitte die tollen zoom (speed) Effekte in FCP ?
Thank you for the feedback!! I appreciate it a lot & I'm happy your following along from now on :) I shoot in HDR & D-Log profile to get the most out of this little drone. Just make speed ramps with some motion blur on to & you're good to go ;)
Bro nice edit ! Please tell me how to did it ? especially the speed ramping with the motion blur 180 - shutter time ? Do tell me or make a tutorial please !
@@MichyHerzogI used up alot of my nine lives, though. Have been a risk taker for so long so it isn't dying I'm afraid of...it's getting maimed, and being in a vegetable mode LOL
Very good Michy 👏 I fly since phantom 1 for over 10 years now but the mini 3 pro is definitely a legend 💪🏼 best cinematic greetings from a small and old german RUclips filmmaker 😅😊
salt water killed my Spark but normal water should be fine. These drones have coatings on some internal electronics. I found it out when i Disassembled my spark battery. they have contacts coated with some kind of glue.
Amazing shots, seems like this can compete with much more expensive drones. I just purchased this, can't wait for it to be delivered. Could you tell me more about the HDR and what you need to do? Thanks for the video!
Hello mate! Correct, HDR is available until 4k 30fps, not anymore at a higher frame rate. In your case you have to wait maybe for the mini 4 or get a bigger drone which fits your needs. Good luck anyways :)
The blend of visuals and music in your video creates an atmosphere that's almost tangible. It's pure wanderlust fuel. 🎥🌄 I'm also crafting cinematic travel videos and I'd greatly appreciate any insights you can offer
Thanks for your note -> To clear the "confusion", I'm talking about the HDR (which is possible up to 4k 30 fps, marked next to the frame rate as "HQ") and the D-Cinelike profile, which is kind of the DJI equivalent of a log/flat color profile. When you shoot in these settings mentioned above, you get the best footage possible out of your mini 3 pro, with a color depth of 10-bit :)
@@MichyHerzog Then is clear now. So we talk about HDR but not HDR 10 container neither HDR10+, that is the standard for HDR... The HLG is HDR equivalent for both SD and HDR but is far from having same impact as a HDR10+. Tks
Great editing and footage, but it doesnt show as 'HDR' on RUclips...
I would be great if you could do a video on how to colorgrade the footage
Noted!

Hi!!!!Great video and the music is suitable. In what program are you mounting? what kind of camera are you shooting with? thanks for the answer
Thanks for the feedback amigo! I'm editing in FCPX, love it :) At the moment I shoot mostly with a Sony a7siii and 7iii.
I’m getting this drone soon, it will be my first drone, all the reviews I have seen about it helped me make the decision, including yours. Thank you!
Thanks mate, happy to hear! It is a little beast :)
What software you use for post processing and editing cuts?
Hi buddy. I use FinalCutX form Apple. My personal fav!!
What program do you recommend for video editing?
The one I use since 5 years is FinalCut from Apple & I love it… However, I have the feeling that DaVinci-Resolve is also a pretty good choice.
Hi michy great video! How you make the effect from the second 0:51 to 0:56? Thanks
It's just a simple speed ramp - You speed up your video in post and you add an adjustment layer with motion blur on top to make it look faster & smoother ;)
We better film in 60fps or 24fps to get a cimematic range?
I'd not film in 60 fps unless you need to slow the footage down! I'd recommend you to go for 25 or 30 fps in HDR - That gets me the best results so far :) Also if you're uploading it to Instagram it'll give you the best results there!
@@MichyHerzog Thank you so much 🙏
In your video you show some fast forward shots. Do you want to share that technique?
Thanks mate! I guess you mean "speed ramps", which is for example when you speed up the end of one clip and also the beginning of the next clip following. I hope that helps a little :)
It is really easy in Premiere pro. Not sure where the author is editing, but I recommend Premiere pro, even free versions. No need to pay for subsription.
Could u give more information about the config video that u use? 30fps? 60 obt?
ty and bravo for ur work
I usually shoot in 4k, 25fps and the D-Cinelike color profile, use an ND-filter and keep your ISO as low as possible. And you're good to go ;)

Not everyone has a luckypunch like you with a crash into the water... maybe activating care refresh would be a good advise !
How to create HdR video?
Just don't go higher than 30 fps in 4k, so the HDR is turned on automatically.
How to capture HDR footage?
Will post a video about that this week. Stay tuned!
