I love how your technique videos always show methods you don't see elsewhere and they're detailed and comprehensive. Thanks for another great video.

Thank You....Almost brought me to tears. I also have had a double mastectomy, with no reconstruction. So my chest is very flat. It's difficult to buy clothes that fit off the rack. I have sewn a lot and so decided i would sew shirts and dresses, but I find i also must relearn how to fit the pattern.
If I wear off the rack clothes, apparently I look pregnant, as I have had a few ( rude and heartbreaking) women ask if I am pregnant. I have also had to have a complete hysterectomy, and though that is not apparent, it should be apparent that at 62 years old I wouldn't be pregnant. So wearing clothes that fit my flat front I hope will help.
I should also mention that my Doctors say I am fine now and that they feel I have beat the cancer. I know it concerns people to hear that someone has had cancer.
Anyway, thank you so much Alexandra!

Hi Sandra, I am in the same boat as you. Thank goodness I have found this video. Sick of clothes not fitting or having darts. God bless you.

Your kindness creating this special video is so appreciated by those of us with this problem. I have watched many small bust adjustments but could not grasp the final step you showed.

I also have had a double mastectomy and a lot of the clothes and styles i like or my favorite shirts have darts. is there any way to remove these darts that are already in a garment?

Thank you so much for an excellent video addressing this! I have sewn for many years, but have never soon this adjustment, and now it seems so obvious! You have explained it so well, and the fact that you’ve pointed out certain things to keep true with the pattern, shows your knowledge very clearly, both in sewing, and in teaching! You are very kind to put some of your videos on youtube, and I’m anxious to watch your other videos because I am sure they will offer ways to do things that will work well!! And no matter how long we have sewn, we are always interested in new ways to get the look we want.
Again, thanks for your kindness in sharing this. I am certain many many women will find it very helpful!

Thank you for this. I am just getting started sewing for a friend who had a double mastectomy. This looks so easy to do. Love your clear teaching style.

If I am hearing correctly, this method completely bypasses any changes to front waist darts (meaning no changes to matching skirt darts) or waist circumference - and seems to also be applicable for a bodice with waist darts only. Am I on the right track? If so, how exciting!
My pattern does not include the bust line, but I think a good starting point could be obtained by holding the pattern to my body.
Thank you for sharing your tips!

Hello Alexandra. Thank you so much for this video, it's really clear and understandable. With no sewing classes at the moment I'm relying on RUclips and I am just a beginner. Can I please ask you... I am merging pattern sizes and I want to eliminate the bust dart. I am not sure which size bust dart to follow as I will be merging from a size 6 at the bust to a 12 at the waistline, and the bust dart sits between the two. It's frying my brain!! any advice would be highly appreciated. Many thanks :)
