This is a phenomenal documentary on Judy because it’s in her and Sid’s on words and it really gets out the truth. Her liver damage was so serious doctors told her she’d never be able to work again but even then people just kept working her until she died. That’s really the truth of it and it all started when she was a child and the studio forced all those damaging drugs down her throat. Sid should’ve protected her better than he did.
This is the best Judy documentary ever made. Great new clips and photos, with wonderful musical performances. I wish I could have seen this at the theater instead of the recent Judy movie that totally missed her incredible humor and her incredible voice.
I think the film didn't miss her humor or voice because the film is set near the end of the life. It felt very realistic. A real depressing film showcasing the humanity in Judy. I didn't watch it at the cinema but as I saw the scene of Judy singing "Be Happy", I had to pause the film because I got a mini anxiety attack. The film gets a bad image but I love it as Judy's swan song.
Jack Kennedy and Judy garland!! A Os shooting with magical trajectories! Kennedy and garland timeline confession by Judy garland!!! All that matters is the meet , and the garland home appears in Hyannis port!!! I have a beginning and a end timeline. Now . Judy garland confessed her first meeting with jack Kennedy.. In 1960 , Judy garland, not Jackie , helped Kennedy win the presidency... The emerald king had won , with dorothys help !!! It took a while to uncover Judy garland and Kennedy but here she confessed, hear she confessed... Judy garland admits meeting Kennedy of the shooting of the wizard of Oz and before the shooting of the assassin of Os ..
Sid told his writer, I assume with a straight face, that the Munchkins groped Judy up her dress. With the exception of her mother and sisters, everybody believed the outrageous things Judy said, always playing the victim.
@@CR-zx2zi No, she wasn't. Nearly all the victim-themed stories she spread are uncorroborated. Merely telling Sid something, or last husband Mickey Deans something- then that something turns up in their books is not corroboration. The tales of endless work, sleep and food deprivation, and forced chain-smoking are illogical... how would destroying Judy's health, her voice, even her teeth... make her a more valuable property? The "hunchback" story is pure Judy humor, who sometimes called herself a "leper" and a "fat slob." There's no witness to Mr. Mayer insulting her or groping her tits. Lorna wrote of her mother: “She loved L.B. Mayer to the end of her life. In the decade after she left Metro she never blamed L.B. for what had happened to her. She always spoke lovingly of him to us as children and to my father."
@@akrenwinkle yeah her mother was a real sweetheart and then there's the two managers that stole all her money. Jesus what does it take for someone to qualify as victimized for you.
@@CR-zx2zi The stories about Mrs. Gumm, like other folklore, stem from Judy without corroboration. She was ambitious but there is no corroboration she was Judy's first dealer or that she was cruel. It's a long story and I don't know how much you know or how old you are. The list of female stars who let their managers get in bed with them include Gloria Swanson, Carol Channing, Shirley MacLaine, Debbie Reynolds, Doris Day, and Judy. None of them wanted to be bothered with finances, gave their lovers/husbands free reign, asked no questions and kept no track of anything, and not surprisingly, got wiped out. They were adults and nobody held a gun to their heads. Jackie Coogan and Shirley Temple were children... real victims.
@@ADDrecords Judy was a talented, believable actress who loved putting people on, and those unfamiliar with her took her literally. Some of her tall tales were fairly harmless; some were downright mean.

Best bio of Judy that I've ever seen. It's not sugar coated. This is probably what she was like. Warts and all. If you get a chance watch it.

But you cannot say she was not victimized
