- Moms for Liberty, a right-wing political organization pushing extremist policies under the guise of “parental rights,” lost a majority of its elections across the country Tuesday, as voters rejected book bans and restrictions on what students can learn. Nikole Hannah-Jones, NYT Magazine reporter and creator of the 1619 Project, joined Ali to discuss what these results mean for Americans, and for future elections, ahead of Hannah-Jones’s Center for Journalism and Democracy’s annual Democracy Summit.

Jane Cramer is an excellent example of how individual citizens should be participating in local elections. I'm so proud of her and others like her that continue to inspire grassroots organization and community-focused political action.
Good for those who are fighting against groups who want to take our rights away! The far right have gone too far. Parents can make decisions for their families. Women do not need the government to control their bodies nor their religious beliefs.

as a former lifelong republican, after Iraq and the mistakes done- and the collapse of the economy down the line- i had to switch my stance to a more reasonable approach-- for the betterment of the overall society.
seems the problem with the republican "faction"(and voters) these days-- is the way they follow party over Country blindly-- just like a football fan / fanatic-- does not matter what the club s doing, they support it to the end-- even if it falls from the league...

"Parental Rights" also means "totalitarian disciplinary control over a child, what they read, what they say, etc.".
In short, it's Bronze Age value of how children ought to behave to their parents, or at least Victorian Era ones.

Election loss doesn't diminish "parental rights." It just means the fight to preserve those rights against increasing government over-reach, encroachment, threats, and subversion must continue, even more staunchly.
Go to schoolboard meetings to see what they are trying to hide from the parents.
