I believe when King Cold and Freezer eventually asks to reach 100% Goku would say "NO, no more transformations, no more opportunities, you came to my world after I gave you multiple opportunities to leave peacefully, I see now You are irredeemable" And just kills them both just like Trunks without letting them transform
Frieza wasn't even near full power when he got killed by Trunks and that was stated by Gohan who witnessed Frieza's full power on Namek. And King Cold didn't transform against Trunks. That's how he defeated both so easily. Considering Goku always let his opponents go full power it's actually a good question how he was able to defeat Frieza and Cold... It might have been one hell of a fight that would have probably covered a whole saga with Goku possibly even going Super Saiyan dai ni dankai (the same Vegeta and Trunks got in the Rosat) and therefore getting the heart virus before than in the present timeline for subjecting his body to the effort of reaching that level so suddenly to beat Frieza and Cold.
Well i think goku would go of hand ti hand and drag the fight thereby giving frieza and cold the need to show more before defeating them, he never really used energy blasts to kill someone early on in the fight. And the fact that he can sense power kinda backs that up because he would know simple blasts won't do the trick. Can be wrong tho
Trunks was NOT giving them a chance he was being an asshole and toying with them he was going to kill them. Giving them a chance would be letting them transform or letting them live. He was pullin a Vegeta bro.
This is pretty easy to explain: Super Saiyan Future Trunks was able to mop the floor with King Cold and Mecha Frieza. And Goku, who likely had the same amount of training on Yardrat, was able to block all of Trunks' sword swings with a single finger, meaning realistically he would have basically no trouble killing Frieza and King Cold.
I am now imagining king cold as Vince McMahon and Frieza as Shane and the Frieza force is the fodder police officers and when Goku teleports in Stone cold Steve Austin music plays
The reason he didnt bulk up is because he wasnt fully organic, if you heard the engineers and doctors they said his body is naturally more powerful than his 100% power on namek, bare in mind they said "more than his body ever could" but they didnt realise he could get stronger and was easily suprassing the mecha frieza in a week of training based on the multiplier of his power
I just always assumed he had enough of the two and decided to maybe give them one chance to leave and never come back or perish, they refuse and maybe a monkey insult and then Goku wipes them out before they have time to really react. Either that or Goku just arrives and kills them with no chance of retreat given.
Goku already had the upper hand over Frieza on Namek. Frieza might be stronger now that he is a cyborg, but Goku must have had an INSANE zenkai boost after such an intense battle.
Not only that, if you think about it Goku went SSJ AFTER he already tore his own body with kaioken x20 and could do nothing but raise his arms and could've drowned if it wasn't for Piccolo.
The only upperhand Goku had was that he could maintain is strenght longer than Frieza at 100%, but other than that they were equal in power. Frieza mentions he had lost strenght during the fight with Goku and would have lost "even more" if he got caught in the explosion meaning he was actually stronger at 100% than what we have seen if only he didn't take the spirit bomb head on earlier in the fight. Mecha Frieza mention he is even stronger but we never really saw him at 100% since in the manga Trunks slices him in two after Frieza only fires a single angry attack at him and mever powers up. Gohan says Frieza wasn't at full power when he came to Earth. That's also why some Z fighters sense that his dad was stronger than Frieza. Frieza was only stronger than his dead at 100%. Now Goku was considerably stronger than Trunks so for him it still wouldn't have been a problem to defeat even a full power Mecha Frieza and King Cold at the same time, maybe the fight wouldn't have been as easy as it was for Trunks though and also maybe Goku wouldn't have killed them unless they forced him to like by trying to destroy Earth.
Not sure if Zenkai (besides cell) existed at this point. It’s never mentioned besides the one aforementioned circumstance. I imagine it proves diminishing returns or caps out after super saiyan as a method to unlocking super saiyan but those are just theories I’ve heard.
Well Goku might not allow cold to power up, since when he did that on Namek he wasn't quite in the right State of mind, as pointed out by King Kai. Being overcome with rage both from krillin's death, and the power of Super Saiyan. Gohan pulled the same thing the cell. Sayings tend to get cocky with new forms. but at this point Goku would have more control of himself so might just decide to get rid of Kold before he could tri blowing up the planet like Freeza did on Namek.
@@thelittlebosniaexperience8181 he had to it was part of his strategy. Freeza was actually stronger than Goku at that point he had to let him draw his power so we would unknowingly wear himself out. It was Vegeta dragging his feet that got the planet destroyed.

I always interpreted the situation that Freeza was stronger than King Cold. When they sense their arrival, they sense a power that feels like what Freeza felt like on Namek, so similar in power then, and then one that's even stronger. Freeza states himself that he's become much stronger due to his enhancements, so it sounded to me like they were just assuming Cold was Freeza and someone even more powerful was with him. I've been curious if there's an answer to this out there somewhere for a long time. I found this as the Daizenshuu description of him: "Freeza's father. He is a shadowy presence in the organization, and nobody knows of his existence apart from his family and his direct subordinates, not even the Ginyu Special-Squad. Though he's the head of the strongest family in the universe, he is somewhat inferior to Freeza." Looks like Broly retconned that later part with the Ginyu Force...
@EA -Sports As I mentioned, DBS: Broly retconned that bit. That doesn't mean this was inaccurate. It was accurate for however many years since its publication, until Toei and Toriyama went and changed things in their own continuity, like DB Minus and stuff in Super.
@EA -Sports The thing about these Daizenshuu guides is they were the official licensed additions to the continuity. They interviewed Toriyama and tried to fill in the gaps he didn't in the manga/anime, or even his memory forgot. Now, he can always change his mind, which he has, but for the better part of almost 30 years, these were understood as what the continuity was. RUclips creators quote them still all of the time to make their case. Anyway, that part's been changed. Unsure, still, if Cold is still listed as "inferior" to Freeza, but I guess until another quote, or something, from Toriyama shows up that part can at least be debatable...
Even though Goku won, I could see Goku falling for the "I'm not like my son" line King Cold gives Trunks. But not sure King Cold is as cold as Frieza to use distraction time to blow up the planet.
The future trunks is not even the first timeline, the first one is the Cell Timeline where Cell killed future Trunks (it also means that the timeline is screwed because Babidi will later arrive and revive Boo wich will go in a rampage in the Universe) and went to the main timeline
Can we just all realize the fact that King Cold officially was in his first form while fighting Trunks, and still had Mecha Friezas power level, I don’t get why he didn’t just transform.
He didn't have time, we see that all Friezas form requires time to transform and Trunks just never messes around, Future Trunks is ruthless and never wait or give his opponent a chance to power up unlike all Z fighters, this is why Trunks is my favorite character from the show
If you haven't already, you should check out "Goku's Lost Year on Yardrat". It is only a fan made manga but it is fairly well written. It takes place in the timeline of future Trunks and shows a fair chunk of story in how/why Goku goes to Yardrat, how he learns the Instant Transmission, contracts the heart disease, and showcases a fight on earth without the interference of a future Trunks. There are narration videos for it as well should you not want to attempt to find and read the fan made manga itself.
I like more trunks fighting style because he doesn't wait for the opponent to transform or any thing like that instead he goes directly and defeat's the enemy quickly before it's to late
I think it’s also attributed to the androids being 100% all the time and seeing what they do with that power so trunks takes care of business. Every chance he gets even in super when he thinks Goku is black he goes straight for it. I love this about trunks future trunks.
If Goku could turn Super Saiyan at the start of the frieza fight on Namek, he would have been WAY stronger than when he actually turned Super Saiyan...Remember how worn out Goku was by the time he transformed into a Super Saiyan.
Dope summary brother 💪 I've always felt goku was super powerful around that time and would of destroyed them easy. He probably would of been like you know what, i had it with you frieza, and instant transmission kamaya waved them both together at once, or one by one. The one by one would of been to display his power, wanting to see the reaction of the last man standing, which would of been freiza. Once he see's how freaked out freiza is from his new strength, he smerks, then finishes him off
I agree Trunks caught both off guard and they were quite a bit more powerful. But you also have to remember Vegeta and Piccolo would step in if there was a problem(also the other Z-Fighters). As Trunks said a heart disease killed Goku.
this is an interesting analysis, though personally while I think he's right in that Goku wouldn't spare Frieza again, he would definitely try with King Cold, and King Cold is actually smart enough (from what we can tell) to take the offer, given that he actually surrendered and tried to bargain with future Trunks before his death. With that said, as far as we know he's dead in that timeline too, so something may have happened during the fight to prevent that. Or, Toriyama just didn't think it through that much. Really wish we saw more of him, but he served his narrative purpose
I doubt Goku would have let Cold transform. At this point I think he'd be bored of the Freeza family, and he doesn't like to revisit a fight if the challenge is still lacking. Once Goku is bored of something, there's no enticing him back. If the whole transformation thing did get brought up, I think Goku would just say, "Yeah, not interested." and simply blow Cold away.
I still believe that Mecha Frieza is NOT that weaker than Trunks, just a little bit. The sayian was just too smart to catch him by surprise. If Frieza and Cold fought together, Trunks would have been doomed.
All this video did was make me wish there was some form of official media showing how this fight went down in that timeline. Not only Goku vs Frieza and Cold maybe transformed but also the other Z warrior's attempts at stalling out the fight before Goku showed up would be hype to watch
Well Goku when he came back to earth vs a mecha frieza Goku would DESTROY him cuz trunks was easily able to defeat frieza with his sword and when he spars with Goku he blocks it so easily with one finger so that means Goku with just one finger could destroy frieza

Super establishes that there was another unexplained time traveler who caused a timeline divergence, and I think it is implied to have happened before Trunks, meaning that Trunk's timeline is not even the main one
@@OldWorldGalaxy Either the second or third divergent timeline. It depends on which timeline the Cell we know comes from and I don't quite remember. I believe that Cell kills the first Trunks we ever meet and steals his time machine to return to our time that Trunks visited. But doing this must have logically created another divergent timeline in the future because Trunks #2 (the one who enters the time chamber with Vegeta) ALSO comes from the future but not the same exact future as Trunks #1 because he has to be dead due to Cell. My issue and confusion comes from this: Wouldn't the act of Trunks #2 (from the second alternate future where he ISN'T killed by Cell) entering our timeline to intercept the Androids create yet ANOTHER divergent timeline? And if not. If Trunks is the same person both times, then that must mean that CELL is from a different divergent timeline and killed a completely different Trunks that never came to our timeline yet. But then Cell would logically create yet another timeline by stealing the machine and coming to our timeline before the androids ever arrive. Either way there is not nearly enough time rings representing all the timelines there must logically be in this clusterfuck if it actually followed its it's own rules.
Idk if it was reconed of not but at this point In the anime it was fact that frieze was the only one with them other forms because he created them to make his self weaker. Because he couldn’t control his power . But then the cooler movie came out and literally tried to throw all that out the window lol
King Cold was in this 2nd form, so we dont actually know how strong he was if he was able to get to his 4th (or perhaps 5th if Cooler is anything to do with it) form. Its likely Goku would let him transform (much to the chagrin of the z-fighters who would be screaming at him not to) and therefore drag out the fight and mke it much more difficult than it had to be. The fact that Trunks delt with them swiftly and directly makes him a much more tactical fighter and he probably avoided much more bloodshed. Bear in mind, one of the Colds could take a z warrior hostage easily with Goku at the helm.
Frieza's final form does appear to be the natural state of his species. Frost also transformed into this state to gain greater power, and Frieza stated that the lower forms were actually just ways to suppress their normal power. So logically speaking, King Cold should absolutely have the two higher forms Frieza and Frost demonstrated. And he could also probably bulk his muscles up like them too. The question is whether these transformations would affect King Cold's power as dramatically as they did for Frieza and Frost. It would stand to reason he would become stronger, but we don't know if the "multipliers" are uniform across their species. Goku and Frieza were initially even at the start of their Namek battle. Goku around 3 mil, and the heavily suppressed Frieza about the same. So here Frieza was about 3x as strong as his 2nd form. When Frieza powers up to 50% of full power however, he reached 60 mil, a 60x multiplier over his 2nd form. His 100% bulky form is 120 mil, so 120x multiplier over his 2nd form. If we assume the King Cold we saw is roughly comparable to Frieza's max power, even just applying a 3x increase to King Cold's power (if Goku allowed him to transform) is stretching story logic to an absurd degree. Granted we lack power levels post-Namek, but I still think someone 3x stronger than Frieza would be more than enough to decimate Goku at this point in the timeline. If you were to give King Cold the 60-120x multiplier that Frieza demonstrated in his final forms, then it gets completely absurd and would place King Cold's power level in the billions to tens of billions. Again we lack confirmed power levels from this point on, but I think most people would probably agree that's higher than the Androids, possibly even around or above Imperfect Cell. Doesn't really make much sense story wise for him to be this powerful (though Dragonball Multiverse has had some fun with this idea). Incidentally, i'm not sure Frieza can actually bulk his muscles up anymore with his cybernetic reconstruction. He lost what was left of his tail, an arm, both legs, a chunk of his lower abdomen, and about a third of his head. Cybernetics now cover all of these areas, and there's also another metal plate covering half his chest (there are probably a lot of internal injuries from the explosion). I would question whether bulking up would even be physically possible anymore within the confines of these intrusive rigid new cybernetics. What we saw may well be the full extent of his power, but it seems to be stated that he's surpassed his previous 100% bulky form in this state anyways.
It's my personal theory that Goku contracted the heart virus sometime between getting back to Earth to fight the Saiyans, and leaving Earth to go to Namek to fight against Frieza, and it just stayed dormant within his body for all that time. The energy, exertion and effort he put into his fight against Frieza, King Cold and the contingent of soldiers accellerated the virus's progression, causing it to flare up and kill him 6 months before he first started exhibiting the symptoms in the main series timeline.

Mecha Frieza should be around 160-170 Million in terms of Powerlevel when he comes to Earth. Much stronger then before (120 Million at 100%) and slightly stronger then Gokus 150 Million on Namek. Goku Probably was around 190 Million to 200 Million. As you said in the Video both Frieza and King Cold did most likely hold back alot vs Trunks because they are arrogant and only be worried about Goku at that point and Trunks killed them way before they had any chance to Powerup. And to be fair.. i dont think Goku would have given Frieza a chance to powerup again. He knew that Frieza could easily destroy the Earth as he did with Namek so i dont think he would let that happen again. But i guess we will never know the truth :P
I doubt he'd let him power up this time. Goku allowed him to walk away on Namek to which he refused. He spared him again then gave him enough energy to walk away and he refused so Goku blasted him, believing he was dead. It's obvious Frieza won't stop and as much as Goku wants to believe in the best in people I don't think his patience is boundless. But then again I've never seen super so I could be wrong. I know they teamed up in the tournament of power but I don't know context.
@Logan Waltz We dont know the extend of Goku's training on Yardrat. Or wether he recieved a Zenkai boost from his fight with Frieza. He seemed pretty knackered after crashing on Yardrat. So maybe he did. I'm unsure the Yardratians would've been able to help him much in terms of physical training though. It's said they werent strong and he likely spent most of his time mastering Instant Transmission. So I'd say Goku's base power after getting back on Earth must've been somewhere in the region of 4.5 to 5 million. So 225 million to 250 million. Or about 30% stronger than on Namek. And since Goku (in the Manga) pretty much shrugged off Frieza's full power with ease I dont think Mecha Frieza would've proven much of a challenge.

The way I always saw it was that Frieza was only at 50% power when he fought Trunks and didn't bother to transform because he severely underestimated Trunks (visible in his lack of powering up and lack of bulk). And Trunks killed him before he had a chance to realize he was outmached. Since he suggests he might be able to kill Goku on his own (and assuming it's not just his arrogance) that would have put Frieza's strength at 100% at least around 150 million. But since he seemed pretty confident I'd guess maybe closer to 160 million. Probably not too far above 150 million though since otherwise he wouldn't say "probably" and he wouldn't have even thought about King Cold helping. This would imply a power level of about 80 million at 50% which is what I would guess is the power level Trunks fought him at. Trunks made pretty short work of him, so clearly Trunks was significantly more powerful. I'd guess that Trunks had a power level of about 120 million in his SSJ form, just because that puts him well above Frieza but still well below Goku on Namek (which makes sense considering that he was told how legendarily powerful Goku was). Considering how Goku managed to beat Trunks with one finger I'd probably place him around 200 million at this point. Since it seems to me that when you look at Dragon Ball fights for someone to really beat someone this decisively you need at least about 2x their strength. These are all estimates, of course.
If King Cold could transform you know Goku absolutely would have stood there and let him! That means King Cold likely DID transform and Goku STILL killed him! That’s how much more powerful Goku and Trunks were than Frieza and his father! 🤯
I think the fight was relatively close honestly for a lot of the reasons you cover. Goku would've let them power up to their max and at max I think they are close enough to give him a challenge but not enough to win. I think the biggest factor to his victory was instant transmission. Using that against 2 opponents that cant sense ki is deadly
I think Goku picked Frieza apart like he did with Nappa. But struggled with King Cold where the Z fighters collectively jumped in. Piccolo and Gohan, Vegeta were still there.
King Cold is the most wasted character in anime history. He was Friezas father and should’ve been ridiculously strong he honestly should’ve showed up after cell (before Buu) and fought against Gohan, vegeta and rest of z fighters (goku was dead)
@@nicholasthomas6886 True. I think that since there were no more threats to prepare for, Goku and Gohan took things easy. Gohan probably wanted to train with his father, but Chi-Chi kept him studying and Goku probably was farming and training for a bit. They might have caught up on fishing, camping and other stuff before the heart virus kicked in. As for the timeline we're familiar with, Goku could have taught Gohan the technique, but he wanted him to get Super Saiyan down pushing beyond that.
Well if we could see how the fight went in the original timeline, I think it would be something similar to what we got in DBZ: Resurrection F. Now that I think about it, it's possible that reason why Toriyama did DBZROF in the first place was to redeem himself from not showing that battle.
The Z fighters could take care of Frieza's soldiers. Especially Vegeta and Piccolo. Frieza would force Goku to put him down but King Cold would ask for mercy and Goku would give it. So it's safe to say King Cold probably tried a sneak attack
Consider this. King Cold was considered stronger than Frieza at the time, and yet he is clearly only in his second form. That means not only would he be significantly more powerful if he transformed, but if he reached his final form he would have given Goku one hell of a beat down that I feel would have involved Vegeta unlocking his super saiyan potential. In the Future Trunks timeline Vegeta had achieved his super saiyan mode but we were never shown how he originally did it. I like to think it took the combined effort of two super saiyan to beat a final form King Cold. Or at least give Goku an opening to finish him off. However a final form King Cold would still pale compare to the power of the Androids that arrived later on. Something the Multiverse comics tend to forget.
They should make a scene where we can see how future Goku defeat both King Cold and Frieza. That would be nice since we know the end result but not the method Goku took to beat them
This sounds cool for the most part. I do think goku would be a lot stronger than you think, much stronger than on Namek. Remember, hes been training a year, and also got a zenkai from the Frieza fight. I'd like to think that there would be a scuffle with the z fighters defeating the troops, then trying to stand up to Frieza. Also, Frieza would probably try to use one of goku's friends as bait, which would finally push Goku over the edge. Goku would power up fully, dwarfing final form King Cold and Mecha Frieza, and just straight murder them both.

Interesting to note even if it may not be anything to take serious. In dragonball Kakarot, Goku’s power level in the stats as a base from level is 4.5 million. That means as a super saiyan he is at 225 million. That’s a 75 million increase which honestly is quite a bit. So even if frieza managed to get boosted to what goku was on namek he would still be leagues behind. I think it’s fun to consider dbz kakarot as an idea where gokus strength may have been.
I think it would be similar to how he killed him in Resurrection of F. Z fighters take out the soldiers, then Goku jumps in and blasts him away. King Cold rages and Goku allows him a hit or two to show him how screwed he really is, then ends him.

There's a lot that people kind of overthink with this. The main thing to remember is that Frieza is a prodigy in his race, his father is powerful, but Frieza is clearly the most powerful. What Tien was most likely sensing was Frieza's different power now that he's a cyborg. King Cold is most likely the "Frieza" that Tien is sensing. As for Frieza's confidence, it's just denial. He has never been bested and his ego can't handle it. It's just like Resurrection F, he rushed off to fight as soon as he thought he was more powerful, but he greatly underestimated the Saiyans and got beat down. Even thinking that Frieza is more powerful than on Namek, it's unlikely his power is even on par with Namek Goku. Goku was in a different league than Frieza during the fight in the manga, the anime made it look closer than it was. Frieza wouldn't be so terrified of Trunks if he had some kind of massive power boost and King Cold wouldn't be so terrified and desperate if he was secretly much more powerful than anyone. tl;dr Frieza wasn't really that much stronger, he was just in denial. King Cold wasn't a mutant and as such was just fodder. Being a special mutant, Frieza's true form is probably different from the rest of them, the normal true form of Frieza's race is probably the second form.

Frieza wasn't even near full power when he got killed by Trunks and that was stated by Gohan who witnessed Frieza's full power on Namek. And King Cold didn't transform against Trunks. That's how he defeated both so easily. Considering Goku always let his opponents go full power it's actually a good question how he was able to defeat Frieza and Cold... It might have been one hell of a fight that would have probably covered a whole saga with Goku possibly even going Super Saiyan dai ni dankai (the same Vegeta and Trunks got in the Rosat) and therefore getting the heart virus before than in the present timeline for subjecting his body to the effort of reaching that level so suddenly to beat Frieza and Cold.

This is pretty easy to explain: Super Saiyan Future Trunks was able to mop the floor with King Cold and Mecha Frieza. And Goku, who likely had the same amount of training on Yardrat, was able to block all of Trunks' sword swings with a single finger, meaning realistically he would have basically no trouble killing Frieza and King Cold.
I am now imagining king cold as Vince McMahon and Frieza as Shane and the Frieza force is the fodder police officers and when Goku teleports in Stone cold Steve Austin music plays

Plus Goku had instantaneous movement to use in battle. Frieza didn't know he learned this ability.
The reason he didnt bulk up is because he wasnt fully organic, if you heard the engineers and doctors they said his body is naturally more powerful than his 100% power on namek, bare in mind they said "more than his body ever could" but they didnt realise he could get stronger and was easily suprassing the mecha frieza in a week of training based on the multiplier of his power
I just always assumed he had enough of the two and decided to maybe give them one chance to leave and never come back or perish, they refuse and maybe a monkey insult and then Goku wipes them out before they have time to really react. Either that or Goku just arrives and kills them with no chance of retreat given.

Goku already had the upper hand over Frieza on Namek. Frieza might be stronger now that he is a cyborg, but Goku must have had an INSANE zenkai boost after such an intense battle.
Not only that, if you think about it Goku went SSJ AFTER he already tore his own body with kaioken x20 and could do nothing but raise his arms and could've drowned if it wasn't for Piccolo.
He also had a year to train and control SSJ
The only upperhand Goku had was that he could maintain is strenght longer than Frieza at 100%, but other than that they were equal in power. Frieza mentions he had lost strenght during the fight with Goku and would have lost "even more" if he got caught in the explosion meaning he was actually stronger at 100% than what we have seen if only he didn't take the spirit bomb head on earlier in the fight. Mecha Frieza mention he is even stronger but we never really saw him at 100% since in the manga Trunks slices him in two after Frieza only fires a single angry attack at him and mever powers up. Gohan says Frieza wasn't at full power when he came to Earth. That's also why some Z fighters sense that his dad was stronger than Frieza. Frieza was only stronger than his dead at 100%. Now Goku was considerably stronger than Trunks so for him it still wouldn't have been a problem to defeat even a full power Mecha Frieza and King Cold at the same time, maybe the fight wouldn't have been as easy as it was for Trunks though and also maybe Goku wouldn't have killed them unless they forced him to like by trying to destroy Earth.
Not sure if Zenkai (besides cell) existed at this point. It’s never mentioned besides the one aforementioned circumstance. I imagine it proves diminishing returns or caps out after super saiyan as a method to unlocking super saiyan but those are just theories I’ve heard.
Well Goku might not allow cold to power up, since when he did that on Namek he wasn't quite in the right State of mind, as pointed out by King Kai. Being overcome with rage both from krillin's death, and the power of Super Saiyan. Gohan pulled the same thing the cell. Sayings tend to get cocky with new forms. but at this point Goku would have more control of himself so might just decide to get rid of Kold before he could tri blowing up the planet like Freeza did on Namek.

I always interpreted the situation that Freeza was stronger than King Cold. When they sense their arrival, they sense a power that feels like what Freeza felt like on Namek, so similar in power then, and then one that's even stronger. Freeza states himself that he's become much stronger due to his enhancements, so it sounded to me like they were just assuming Cold was Freeza and someone even more powerful was with him. I've been curious if there's an answer to this out there somewhere for a long time. I found this as the Daizenshuu description of him: "Freeza's father. He is a shadowy presence in the organization, and nobody knows of his existence apart from his family and his direct subordinates, not even the Ginyu Special-Squad. Though he's the head of the strongest family in the universe, he is somewhat inferior to Freeza." Looks like Broly retconned that later part with the Ginyu Force...

@EA -Sports The thing about these Daizenshuu guides is they were the official licensed additions to the continuity. They interviewed Toriyama and tried to fill in the gaps he didn't in the manga/anime, or even his memory forgot. Now, he can always change his mind, which he has, but for the better part of almost 30 years, these were understood as what the continuity was. RUclips creators quote them still all of the time to make their case. Anyway, that part's been changed. Unsure, still, if Cold is still listed as "inferior" to Freeza, but I guess until another quote, or something, from Toriyama shows up that part can at least be debatable...

He didn't have time, we see that all Friezas form requires time to transform and Trunks just never messes around, Future Trunks is ruthless and never wait or give his opponent a chance to power up unlike all Z fighters, this is why Trunks is my favorite character from the show

If you haven't already, you should check out "Goku's Lost Year on Yardrat". It is only a fan made manga but it is fairly well written. It takes place in the timeline of future Trunks and shows a fair chunk of story in how/why Goku goes to Yardrat, how he learns the Instant Transmission, contracts the heart disease, and showcases a fight on earth without the interference of a future Trunks. There are narration videos for it as well should you not want to attempt to find and read the fan made manga itself.
I like more trunks fighting style because he doesn't wait for the opponent to transform or any thing like that instead he goes directly and defeat's the enemy quickly before it's to late
Trunks is only half saiyan, which plays as big factor in that. Full blooded saiyans like to fight and loves a good challenge
I think it’s also attributed to the androids being 100% all the time and seeing what they do with that power so trunks takes care of business. Every chance he gets even in super when he thinks Goku is black he goes straight for it. I love this about trunks future trunks.

I agree Trunks caught both off guard and they were quite a bit more powerful. But you also have to remember Vegeta and Piccolo would step in if there was a problem(also the other Z-Fighters). As Trunks said a heart disease killed Goku.
this is an interesting analysis, though personally while I think he's right in that Goku wouldn't spare Frieza again, he would definitely try with King Cold, and King Cold is actually smart enough (from what we can tell) to take the offer, given that he actually surrendered and tried to bargain with future Trunks before his death. With that said, as far as we know he's dead in that timeline too, so something may have happened during the fight to prevent that. Or, Toriyama just didn't think it through that much. Really wish we saw more of him, but he served his narrative purpose
I doubt Goku would have let Cold transform. At this point I think he'd be bored of the Freeza family, and he doesn't like to revisit a fight if the challenge is still lacking. Once Goku is bored of something, there's no enticing him back. If the whole transformation thing did get brought up, I think Goku would just say, "Yeah, not interested." and simply blow Cold away.

@@OldWorldGalaxy Either the second or third divergent timeline. It depends on which timeline the Cell we know comes from and I don't quite remember. I believe that Cell kills the first Trunks we ever meet and steals his time machine to return to our time that Trunks visited. But doing this must have logically created another divergent timeline in the future because Trunks #2 (the one who enters the time chamber with Vegeta) ALSO comes from the future but not the same exact future as Trunks #1 because he has to be dead due to Cell.
My issue and confusion comes from this: Wouldn't the act of Trunks #2 (from the second alternate future where he ISN'T killed by Cell) entering our timeline to intercept the Androids create yet ANOTHER divergent timeline? And if not. If Trunks is the same person both times, then that must mean that CELL is from a different divergent timeline and killed a completely different Trunks that never came to our timeline yet. But then Cell would logically create yet another timeline by stealing the machine and coming to our timeline before the androids ever arrive. Either way there is not nearly enough time rings representing all the timelines there must logically be in this clusterfuck if it actually followed its it's own rules.

King Cold was in this 2nd form, so we dont actually know how strong he was if he was able to get to his 4th (or perhaps 5th if Cooler is anything to do with it) form. Its likely Goku would let him transform (much to the chagrin of the z-fighters who would be screaming at him not to) and therefore drag out the fight and mke it much more difficult than it had to be. The fact that Trunks delt with them swiftly and directly makes him a much more tactical fighter and he probably avoided much more bloodshed. Bear in mind, one of the Colds could take a z warrior hostage easily with Goku at the helm.

Frieza's final form does appear to be the natural state of his species. Frost also transformed into this state to gain greater power, and Frieza stated that the lower forms were actually just ways to suppress their normal power. So logically speaking, King Cold should absolutely have the two higher forms Frieza and Frost demonstrated. And he could also probably bulk his muscles up like them too.
The question is whether these transformations would affect King Cold's power as dramatically as they did for Frieza and Frost. It would stand to reason he would become stronger, but we don't know if the "multipliers" are uniform across their species. Goku and Frieza were initially even at the start of their Namek battle. Goku around 3 mil, and the heavily suppressed Frieza about the same. So here Frieza was about 3x as strong as his 2nd form. When Frieza powers up to 50% of full power however, he reached 60 mil, a 60x multiplier over his 2nd form. His 100% bulky form is 120 mil, so 120x multiplier over his 2nd form. If we assume the King Cold we saw is roughly comparable to Frieza's max power, even just applying a 3x increase to King Cold's power (if Goku allowed him to transform) is stretching story logic to an absurd degree. Granted we lack power levels post-Namek, but I still think someone 3x stronger than Frieza would be more than enough to decimate Goku at this point in the timeline. If you were to give King Cold the 60-120x multiplier that Frieza demonstrated in his final forms, then it gets completely absurd and would place King Cold's power level in the billions to tens of billions. Again we lack confirmed power levels from this point on, but I think most people would probably agree that's higher than the Androids, possibly even around or above Imperfect Cell. Doesn't really make much sense story wise for him to be this powerful (though Dragonball Multiverse has had some fun with this idea).
Incidentally, i'm not sure Frieza can actually bulk his muscles up anymore with his cybernetic reconstruction. He lost what was left of his tail, an arm, both legs, a chunk of his lower abdomen, and about a third of his head. Cybernetics now cover all of these areas, and there's also another metal plate covering half his chest (there are probably a lot of internal injuries from the explosion). I would question whether bulking up would even be physically possible anymore within the confines of these intrusive rigid new cybernetics. What we saw may well be the full extent of his power, but it seems to be stated that he's surpassed his previous 100% bulky form in this state anyways.

It's my personal theory that Goku contracted the heart virus sometime between getting back to Earth to fight the Saiyans, and leaving Earth to go to Namek to fight against Frieza, and it just stayed dormant within his body for all that time. The energy, exertion and effort he put into his fight against Frieza, King Cold and the contingent of soldiers accellerated the virus's progression, causing it to flare up and kill him 6 months before he first started exhibiting the symptoms in the main series timeline.

Mecha Frieza should be around 160-170 Million in terms of Powerlevel when he comes to Earth. Much stronger then before (120 Million at 100%) and slightly stronger then Gokus 150 Million on Namek. Goku Probably was around 190 Million to 200 Million. As you said in the Video both Frieza and King Cold did most likely hold back alot vs Trunks because they are arrogant and only be worried about Goku at that point and Trunks killed them way before they had any chance to Powerup.
And to be fair.. i dont think Goku would have given Frieza a chance to powerup again. He knew that Frieza could easily destroy the Earth as he did with Namek so i dont think he would let that happen again. But i guess we will never know the truth :P
I doubt he'd let him power up this time. Goku allowed him to walk away on Namek to which he refused. He spared him again then gave him enough energy to walk away and he refused so Goku blasted him, believing he was dead. It's obvious Frieza won't stop and as much as Goku wants to believe in the best in people I don't think his patience is boundless.

Mecha Freeza was confirmed to be weaker than his original self. He's not a saiyan that gets stronger and Super confirmed he never trained.

@Logan Waltz We dont know the extend of Goku's training on Yardrat. Or wether he recieved a Zenkai boost from his fight with Frieza. He seemed pretty knackered after crashing on Yardrat. So maybe he did. I'm unsure the Yardratians would've been able to help him much in terms of physical training though. It's said they werent strong and he likely spent most of his time mastering Instant Transmission. So I'd say Goku's base power after getting back on Earth must've been somewhere in the region of 4.5 to 5 million. So 225 million to 250 million. Or about 30% stronger than on Namek. And since Goku (in the Manga) pretty much shrugged off Frieza's full power with ease I dont think Mecha Frieza would've proven much of a challenge.

The way I always saw it was that Frieza was only at 50% power when he fought Trunks and didn't bother to transform because he severely underestimated Trunks (visible in his lack of powering up and lack of bulk). And Trunks killed him before he had a chance to realize he was outmached. Since he suggests he might be able to kill Goku on his own (and assuming it's not just his arrogance) that would have put Frieza's strength at 100% at least around 150 million. But since he seemed pretty confident I'd guess maybe closer to 160 million. Probably not too far above 150 million though since otherwise he wouldn't say "probably" and he wouldn't have even thought about King Cold helping. This would imply a power level of about 80 million at 50% which is what I would guess is the power level Trunks fought him at. Trunks made pretty short work of him, so clearly Trunks was significantly more powerful. I'd guess that Trunks had a power level of about 120 million in his SSJ form, just because that puts him well above Frieza but still well below Goku on Namek (which makes sense considering that he was told how legendarily powerful Goku was). Considering how Goku managed to beat Trunks with one finger I'd probably place him around 200 million at this point. Since it seems to me that when you look at Dragon Ball fights for someone to really beat someone this decisively you need at least about 2x their strength. These are all estimates, of course.

Frieza actually did use his full power here. He just channeled it into kai blasts instead of hand to hand. That last attack was his best finish move.

I think the fight was relatively close honestly for a lot of the reasons you cover. Goku would've let them power up to their max and at max I think they are close enough to give him a challenge but not enough to win. I think the biggest factor to his victory was instant transmission. Using that against 2 opponents that cant sense ki is deadly
I think Goku picked Frieza apart like he did with Nappa. But struggled with King Cold where the Z fighters collectively jumped in. Piccolo and Gohan, Vegeta were still there.
King Cold is the most wasted character in anime history. He was Friezas father and should’ve been ridiculously strong he honestly should’ve showed up after cell (before Buu) and fought against Gohan, vegeta and rest of z fighters (goku was dead)

It's a complex technique that took Goku several months to understand and execute. In order to do the technique one must master spirit control first.

@@nicholasthomas6886 True. I think that since there were no more threats to prepare for, Goku and Gohan took things easy. Gohan probably wanted to train with his father, but Chi-Chi kept him studying and Goku probably was farming and training for a bit. They might have caught up on fishing, camping and other stuff before the heart virus kicked in. As for the timeline we're familiar with, Goku could have taught Gohan the technique, but he wanted him to get Super Saiyan down pushing beyond that.

Well if we could see how the fight went in the original timeline, I think it would be something similar to what we got in DBZ: Resurrection F. Now that I think about it, it's possible that reason why Toriyama did DBZROF in the first place was to redeem himself from not showing that battle.
The Z fighters could take care of Frieza's soldiers. Especially Vegeta and Piccolo. Frieza would force Goku to put him down but King Cold would ask for mercy and Goku would give it. So it's safe to say King Cold probably tried a sneak attack
I wish the Dragon Ball series would create alternate episodes to show what happens in the original timeline without Trunks.
Consider this. King Cold was considered stronger than Frieza at the time, and yet he is clearly only in his second form. That means not only would he be significantly more powerful if he transformed, but if he reached his final form he would have given Goku one hell of a beat down that I feel would have involved Vegeta unlocking his super saiyan potential. In the Future Trunks timeline Vegeta had achieved his super saiyan mode but we were never shown how he originally did it. I like to think it took the combined effort of two super saiyan to beat a final form King Cold. Or at least give Goku an opening to finish him off.
However a final form King Cold would still pale compare to the power of the Androids that arrived later on. Something the Multiverse comics tend to forget.

They should make a scene where we can see how future Goku defeat both King Cold and Frieza. That would be nice since we know the end result but not the method Goku took to beat them
This sounds cool for the most part. I do think goku would be a lot stronger than you think, much stronger than on Namek. Remember, hes been training a year, and also got a zenkai from the Frieza fight.
I'd like to think that there would be a scuffle with the z fighters defeating the troops, then trying to stand up to Frieza. Also, Frieza would probably try to use one of goku's friends as bait, which would finally push Goku over the edge. Goku would power up fully, dwarfing final form King Cold and Mecha Frieza, and just straight murder them both.
Next video: what if future trunks accidentally split gokus head in half with the sword expecting goku to block/dodge it

.....Goku would do everything Trunks would have done, but looked better doing it. Haha. Would of loved to see this fight play out though as there would of been more attacking back and forth due to Goku's Saiyan nature.

Interesting to note even if it may not be anything to take serious. In dragonball Kakarot, Goku’s power level in the stats as a base from level is 4.5 million. That means as a super saiyan he is at 225 million. That’s a 75 million increase which honestly is quite a bit. So even if frieza managed to get boosted to what goku was on namek he would still be leagues behind. I think it’s fun to consider dbz kakarot as an idea where gokus strength may have been.
I think it would be similar to how he killed him in Resurrection of F. Z fighters take out the soldiers, then Goku jumps in and blasts him away. King Cold rages and Goku allows him a hit or two to show him how screwed he really is, then ends him.
Goku returning to Earth and killing Mecha Freiza was supposed to be the timeline we follow but Thanks to Trunks, its now the alternate one.

There's a lot that people kind of overthink with this. The main thing to remember is that Frieza is a prodigy in his race, his father is powerful, but Frieza is clearly the most powerful. What Tien was most likely sensing was Frieza's different power now that he's a cyborg. King Cold is most likely the "Frieza" that Tien is sensing. As for Frieza's confidence, it's just denial. He has never been bested and his ego can't handle it. It's just like Resurrection F, he rushed off to fight as soon as he thought he was more powerful, but he greatly underestimated the Saiyans and got beat down. Even thinking that Frieza is more powerful than on Namek, it's unlikely his power is even on par with Namek Goku. Goku was in a different league than Frieza during the fight in the manga, the anime made it look closer than it was. Frieza wouldn't be so terrified of Trunks if he had some kind of massive power boost and King Cold wouldn't be so terrified and desperate if he was secretly much more powerful than anyone.
tl;dr Frieza wasn't really that much stronger, he was just in denial. King Cold wasn't a mutant and as such was just fodder. Being a special mutant, Frieza's true form is probably different from the rest of them, the normal true form of Frieza's race is probably the second form.
They really should have made this movie like a prequel to the history of trunks, I would really want to see how goku learn the instant transmission
