Great video. Happened to be watching 'Wallace and Gromit movie today. And noticed in background shot poster for John Cooper Clark and the Fall. Now that is sure surreal
Frank Sidebottom & John Cooper Clarke - Kazuko's Karaoke Klub 15 July 1989 i went to see this guy in oldham.. he played live with little frank. the only thing i actually belly laughed at was the little frank skit of little frank going down the slide and his head reaching the end of the slide before the rest of his body. so yeah...as funking weird as frank Sidebottom is you can't beat david soul playing the fall and little franks' home movies...
I was gonna see him for the first time five days after he passed away...didn't cancel shit beforehand, clearly was going to play until his last. What a legend.
Frank Sidebottom & John Cooper Clarke - Kazuko's Karaoke Klub 15 July 1989 1253pm 21.4.23 is that the fall guitarist in audience, there? the thing with frank sidebottom and little frank is that it stems from the idiotic notions famous people and their relations have about that thing they call fame and/or notoriety - i mean... it's worth noting that some folk have no idea who famous peoples' relations are...
That was just amazing. Silly but brilliant. Sometimes you think nostalgia for the past makes you look through rose-tinted glasses, but a lot of 1980s TV was undisputably vibrant, ground-breaking, creative, and unpredictable. Having said that, the topical references (esp to Gary Glitter and Jimmy Saville) were somewhat unfortunate! Oh, and I briefly lived in Timperley, as well as working in Stevenage New Town in the 1980s, where J C-T had also apparently lived or worked, which probably explained why I found his 1983 collection of poems Ten Years in an Open Necked Shirt in the town library, whose poetry section was exceedingly small.

As a John Cooper Clarke fan im watching this stoned i dont know whats fucking going on with Frank still pmsl but. Well done John for mentioning Roy of the rovers. Takes me back.
I grew up with both of them, being from the same neck of the woods, discovering someone or something when they or it is in the past is a melancholic emotion, as one of my biggest loves was killed in a road accident in 1981...so only recordings available to me ...as you do now.🙂
haiku, unrhymed poetic form consisting of 17 syllables arranged in three lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables respectively. The haiku first emerged in Japanese literature during the 17th century, as a terse reaction to elaborate poetic traditions, though it did not become known by the name haiku until the 19th century
One has to do this begging for money incantation a bit more convincingly if one seriously desperately wants that stuff that offers independency ; like Lennon did , who actually cried his soul out to get enough of that stuff so he could pursue his hobbies. It didn't make him a particularly happy man though..
@@tombstoneharrystudios584 She was eccentric until this meeting with Frank. Then she was just normal afterwards even conventional. Frank even made John Cooper Clarke look very straightforward.
Slightly interesting ,but that Japanese creature is hopeless. No further carreer opportunities for her.Clarke doing a straight lifeless "money" was highly disappointing.Missed opportunity.
Bless Frank, what an ARTIST! 💕
When TV was fun - I loved Frank Chickens, Frank Sidebottom and JCC - Still do!
"To convey one's mood in 17 syllables is very diffic"

Both Frank and John have similar accents and speech. Great Manchester icons!! 😎👏
So sad Chris got sick and died. Thank goodness we still have John.

Skyrilla and ringo, i've always said that ringo will bury them all
john cooper Clarke, who's still alive.
...and singing up a storm.
I was gonna see him for the first time five days after he passed away...didn't cancel shit beforehand, clearly was going to play until his last. What a legend.
"I AM NOT HAVING AN AFFAIR WIV KYLIE MINOGUE NO MATTER WOT YOU MIGHT SAY. EVEN THOUGH SHE HAS GOT FANTASTIC YELLOW HAIR."
What a great upload! Thanks! :)
You invite Frank on to a show, you go on his ride, not vice versa

Frank Chickens won the Edinburgh Fringe award, imagine this was off that hype
People say things like this all the time, even though they're taking bollocks.

Yes. It was amazing.
Even for me, a connoisseur of the surreal, that end credits sequence was a bit much. I love it.
Hi from the future. Please kicke in the direction of more surrealism please
JCC and Mr Sidebottom, two reputable gentlemen. Just fucking ace

The Japanese ladies are the Frank chickens
Mass hysteria... gotta love it.
Janice Long is Keith Chegwins sister. I know! I was surprised too.
Macbeth! Had to Google it though. Yes. More interesting. Polanski is a dirty fiddy kiddler though.

What ever happened to Kazuko?? I used to love this programme.. :)
Nuts
You could write a thesis on how this skates along the divide between genius and complete nonsense...
RIP Chris
Nice one lads
I am discovering Frank Sidebottom now 8 years after he died and I feel like I'm on drugs every time I see a clip of him. Is that normal?

Imagine growing up during the 80’s in the North West of England. Frank was on tv regularly back then.
John Cooper Clarke has that effect on me too.
It's a contact high.

Hopefully the Poet will stay alive long enough to do his tour...
One Frank Sidebottom...... There's only one Frank Sidebottom.
Isn't that the Frank Chickens?Think I remember this.

1:48 is that Clare Grogan?
As someone who isn't used to listening to European, or Asian accents, it was difficult to follow along.
"rocar hero jimmy saviru"

what the heck was this show...I'm getting sort of a banzai vibe, but with contemporary Manchester music and actual Japanese people? What's happening?
It’s the founder of the Frank Chickens 🐓 eccentric performance artist Kazuko Hohki
@@tombstoneharrystudios584 She was eccentric until this meeting with Frank. Then she was just normal afterwards even conventional. Frank even made John Cooper Clarke look very straightforward.
Only thing that was right about this shite was the pissing down rain song at the end .
Oh no don't mention savile
Fuck me the drugs were better years ago!
jajajajaja
I don't get it
