For non wrestlers like me: The ref awarded Abrahamian (blue) a point, but after the round they assigned the point and the match to Minguzzi (red) because Abrahamian had his hand in the blue zone. Normally, having a hand in the blue zone is not penalized. Minguzzi had almost his whole body in the blue zone earlier in this match. So the Swedes demanded a video review of the match, but the refs refused to review the recording of the incidents nor consider the written Swedish protest.
Aftermatch: Ara rejects the bronze medal. The Court of Arbitration for Sport held a hearing based the request by Abrahamian against FILA. Following CAS issued an arbitration strongly criticizing FILA. The arbitration stated that the FILA is required to provide an appeal jury capable to deal promptly with the claims of the athletes. Moreover, CAS, concluded that "FILA did not follow Article 22 properly, if at all, or provide any other appropriate appeal mechanism in this case."
That Fight was a disaster... Minguzzi run´s only backward and Abrahamian was the active!!! The Judge was cheated... Abrahamian had to get 1 extra Point because Minguzzi was at all Time Passive... Oh my godness

This was a stain on wrestling. They should remove some (or both) of the Italian wrestlers from competition. Shameful for the Italians to win this way. This is why no one watches soccer in the US. Difficult to understand rules, complicated by bribes and corruption. Sad match for wrestling.

Hey -- soccer, or football as it's really called, is a great game. It's the biggest sport in the world and the rules are really simple. Offside or onside, that's all you need to know. Yeah, there were bribes and corruption in...surprise...Italy, but it's not a worldwide problem. I love many things about Italy, but between Berlusconi, the Mafia, the Italian president of FILA, and this ref's family ties with him, I'd say it's one shady nation. And the US has its legal drug-taking in baseball.
I still remember this. Cheating son-of-a-bitches. And yes, the wrestler Minguzzi even defended the judgement, despite them changing what their judgement was based on several times. Liars and frauds, they have nothing to do with sportmanship.
It's just a match guys relax. You all will get your chances to do the same thing and experience the same drama. All this talking on the computer is a waste of good energy. Save it for the mat!
