Appreciate you lil red. This was a crazy fun game. Mavs shot 50% on 3's and Portland shot 58% from 3 on 30+ attempts. Mavs were happy to survive the great shot making of Portland last night
Lil red, I am a life long Mavs fan (Since day one 1980). I love your content. Your energy is amazing. But what sets you apart is your amazing knowledge offensive and defensive sets, Player position breakdown, and accurate situational in-game awareness. Please continue to cover MY TEAM MY TOWN MY MAVS!
Loving the videos as always ZTay, hope Lakers fans start watching your content so you aren’t just making videos for other fanbases all the time. For what it’s worth, I watch the Lakers reactions too, just so I can see a Laker fan react to their team
I’m a MFFL since 2002, and I say do upload or make reactions even when the Mavs lose. I really like how you give breakdowns on plays. I actually am learning.
Luka looked healthier this game. Sitting out for his wrist injury seemed to also help with those other nagging injuries he came into the season with. Luka tries to play through everything and will only sit out if the team makes him or if the injury is serious enough.
The Mavericks were also missing Klay last night. I think that it was great for Luka and the team to play that stretch without Luka. It was an opportunity for all of them to step up and get in lots of reps, which helped build confidence and chemistry. It was great for Luka to get healthy and even more importantly, to learn how capable his teammates are. That stretch increased his confidence and trust in their capabilities. Luka isn’t accustomed to playing with so many capable ball-handlers, playmakers and shot creators. Now he knows he can give the ball to Naji, Grimes, Dinwiddie, P.J., Klay and Hardy occasionally (and Kyrie obviously) and trust them to hold their own and play well. This team isn’t better without Luka, but it’s possibly the best team the Mavericks have ever put together and they proved that they aren’t so reliant on Luka to be successful. They have been competitive and successful without him, unlike previous Mavericks teams. As a Mavericks fan and Luka fan, I’m excited about this welcome development. Now, when he’s injured, he can actually take a week or two off and heal rather than force himself to play through multiple injuries like he’s had to do in previous seasons. I am a bit concerned by the fact that their defense was worse without Luka though. With the prevailing narrative about Luka being the worst defender in the NBA, I was actually expecting the defense to drastically improve without him, but they actually gave up 6 more points per game without him during that stretch. A bit concerning, but then again, Gafford, Lively, Naji, Klay and Grimes all missed some time during that stretch as well. Honestly, it’s just incredibly refreshing that the team can be riddled with injuries and illnesses and still manage to win 8 of their last 9 games. Apologies for the essay. I hate long comments.
Its 100% hate to say the Mavs play better without Luka. Theres zero proof of that being true. Luka is a top 3 player in the NBA and in my opinion hes number 2. To say any team is better without a player of that caliber is pure hatred. Thats not even a close call.
100%, ppl were just getting carried away by a slow start shooting wise from Luka. They most def about to change their tune now that he has his shot back, it’s gonna unlock so much for this Mavs offense💯💯
You are doing a God Job, This team is more suited for Kyrie but like I said the last time instead of team trying to match Luka pace, Luka need to try and match their pace and stop complaining, Like he did this game.
11:19 I understand where you're coming from, after all, Luka had a tendency to slow the game down with his pacing, and he was rusty from not playing in the preseason. Making the team look faster and cleaner play-wise when he wasn't on the court. Although I think he's sped up his play recently, and looks he found a way to shake off the rust. While he was hurt.
9:00 that dunk was on Maxi. Mavs scheme is to pressure on ball and when the on ball defender gets beat, they switch to avoid giving up free dunks. Maxi should have switched to protect paint and Luka would then switch on Camara.
Luka first game back put up 36/13/7 and got a win over a 58% from 3 Portland team (only 3 teams in the NBA have lost the game when shooting that good from 3), and he also didn't have Kyrie, Klay, Lively, Naji or Exum. All the Luka haters from the last few weeks need to be giving him his props now, that was an impressive win they pulled out and Luka took over the game early on, shot 6/6 in the 2Q.
This was a wild game, Mavs only had 2 starters everyone else on IR. Simons had 3 points going into the 3rd and ended with 27 points but he had got his 5th foul. 5 seconds after getting subbed back in he fouled out. The Blazers were just splashing every 3, 3rd and 4th quarter.
Excluding those 3 point heaves from the blazers.... they were shooting at an almost 65% from 3...... good win from the mavs coming off a back to back and having so many players injured
No I don't think you are a Luka hater...I've seen you critique your own team (Lebron, AD) they same way. That's why as a Mavs fan I watch you, you're pretty fair across the board. Great reaction as always! ✌🏼
Ok ZTay, gonna give you props. Acknowledging Doncic’s ref issues, meaning, non-calls, with obvious fouls. I’ve watched his whole career, almost every game…and there’s an obvious bias in how Luka is called. He went to the line twice…TWICE, last night. It’s like watching Caitlyn Clark getting screwed by refs in the WNBA. The NBA is making it harder on Luka, intentionally. The league calls him differently and it’s unfair.
Naw Red, you aren't a hater. Luka needs to get in better shape and play better on both ends... which he did tonight. He looks like he lost a few pounds while he was out too. Also, looked like Luka was largely leaving the refs alone. That's a good sign. Love your reactions. Keep them coming!
Ztay I saw you reply to my comment the reason why I call that hate is bc people making fun of Luka and just wanted to trade him bc he was trying to adjust to the new guys and wasn't in rhythm, but I think that now Luka is going to be playing like the Luka everyone knows
The problem with "building Lakers fans" is that you might have no idea that outside of California, the Lakers have a shit ton of haters around the country. Same for the Celtics. Those two teams have practically won HALF the Championships over the last 70 years, HALF, for 2 teams. Nobody wants to see that shit anymore.
Can you please do a reaction to nuggets game, i'm very interested in what you have to say, and at the end of the video please say your oppinion on if nuggets need a change, and if they do, what is that change.
Well in all honesty Luka needs to make an effort on D, he sometimes just gives up on D and it is annoying. I am his biggest fan btw but dude needs to put in work on the D side. So ZTay you are not hating on Luka for his poor effort on D you are stating facts.

Anybody that says that is not only just a hater. They’re also a certified moron 😂
Go Mavs, good win.
lil red is the best two way reaction youtuber! Elite ball knowledge and yet so good at entertaining. Loving your content

off ball defense and complaining are hard to see sometimes, but offensively man's gifted
This was a great game

Gafford eating good again now Luka back, I know he’s happy.
Ztayyyyy!! MAVS ARE BACKKKKK
Would you agree Dallas is the most versatile offensive team in the NBA. They can do it all. Attack the paint, shoot light our of 3, post ups. Etc.
