A small stone wall feature being built to protect a garden tap where the pipe was coming out of the wall. No music on this one, just me building the stone feature from start to finish.
Coming back to this buddy, how do you know when it's time to rake the mortar back a little and brush it smooth like you do in the vid? Is there a certain "tell" when the mortar is ready?
So with the mix I was using in this video that was a bit better than usual as it was hot, I had to wait until it had gone, slightly crumbly in the joints, so it would compress a bit more when I tooled it off. If I was in the winter and using a drier mix then sometimes I would be able to point within an hour of laying a stone. It is quite a difficult one to explain but basically you want it to dry enough that it can’t smudge all the stones too much. Hope this explanation was ok!
@@MarcusT86 tidy. I’m doing another stone wall at the moment too match into an existing one so will put a video up when it’s done. Just a Time-lapse on this one though
Music is a distraction to those trying to learn.. 👍
