Thanks , Nigel. I adopted "most" of your methodology here and it sure made track assembly a bit more pleasant.

My very first foray into armor will be the RFM Abrams arriving tomorrow. This video removed the "track anxiety" I was having. Ha-ha. Thanks!

Much much obliged for the movie and comments [75+1 connecting link]. Great job & fantastic help. I just started the model /you deserve plastic medal for that - don't worry we gonna paint it looks like metal one/. Cheers! Milosz.

In a word, brilliant. I have this kit in my stash but have been avoiding starting because of the tracks. Now after watching your video I will follow your technique and get them assembled with far fewer cuss words than usual. Thanks Nigel, always very helpful. It’s all about the process IMO.

Great video. These assemble very much like the workable link tracks in the Ryefield M1 Abrams kits. It is very fiddly getting the tracks together. However, they look great when finished. The jig for the M1 tracks does not have the top part though. You just have to get the bottom pads in, put the connecting pins in place, then put a SMALL amount of cement in the holes on the bottom pads and put the top pads in place. It goes pretty quick once you get in a routine.

    Thanks for the guide!
I’m currently struggle with the speed. That bloody extra thin dries out when I assembling the parts together ))) what makes me do all the tracks twice.
My housemates already making jokes... they thinking that I am modeling tracks and the tank is just a little auxilary part to hold them ))

Sensational video Nigel. My Rye Field Sherman arrived a few days ago. When I first saw the four track sprues, and read the simplified IKEA like instructions, I immediately started looking for advice. Your video showed me everything I needed to know, plus a couple of valuable bonus tips to streamline the assembly process.
    Many thanks. :)

Thank you for your generous spirit in sharing this very helpful tip. I just ordered the kit but I’m always a little apprehensive about workable tracks. At least you’ve given us a fighting chance. All the best from Canada.

Rye Field cocked up the engineering on the track design. Way way too many parts. I built the Tasca kit and if I were to build another E8 it would again be Tasca/Asuka. It had the T84 tracks, unlike this one.I think the Asuka kit is cheaper too. I also have the Dragon Thunderbolt VII kit as well with both T84 and T80 tracks like this kit but haven't built it yet. So can't comment.

I don't know why a company would create a kit with such a high part count. I have this kit but those tracks are keeping me from starting it.

Hi Nigel, both videos on this build are brilliant! Extremely helpful. Just getting to painting now. I’m new to the airbrush. Does the track need any specific technique to stop it seizing from the painting? Thank you once more for all the tips .

Great kit...but the tracks are way too complicated...7 parts to 1 link....madness...you can't tell me they couldn't have made them with less parts...I bought some metal ones and saved my sanity 😅

Hi Nigel, yep us model kit builders do tend to have fat fingers lol! Thank heavens for tweezers. Yep very nice dramatic music mate. I am hopping to get hold of Rye field models 1/35 early Tiger 1 with interior soon, they are the top banana (do people still say that?) Looking forward to your next instalment of the Hellcat build cos I wanna build mine but I am enjoying watching you do yours so I don't mess mine up lol. All the best mate.

They are not garbage, they work well if assembled correctly.
