Are you winter and summer pruning your peach and stone fruit trees? How are you approaching it and do you feel you have the knowledge to comfortably make the pruning cuts that are needed? I would love to hear your thoughts on winter pruning your peach trees 🌻
Thank you sir, Your video was precisely what I was looking for when starting my search for information on how to prune and manage young peach trees. I will be purchasing my first peach in spring 2025 and wanted to start preparing for that journey. You were clear, concise and consistent throughout your presentation and I so very much appreciate you.
Oh wow, what an incredible message! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts with me 🌻 I hope your fruit tree growing journey is amazing and abundant and that my videos are able to create a good foundation for you to build upon 🌻🌻🌻
I appreciate you talking about the timing of pruning because that is always a confusing thing with stone fruit trees. I saw a video of someone saying never prune stone fruit in winter and I'm glad you clarified some of that
It's the greatest of pleasure and I'm so glad you found this video too and that it helped you out! Yes, there can be information overload on the Internet with so many different opinions. Just remember you get summer and winter pruning of stone fruit. Winter pruning is for structure and the removal of dead or diseased branches and summer pruning is to direct growth where you want growth and to stimulate fruit growth the flowing year. Good luck and I hope you get wonderful harvests 🌻
If you prune too low and the bud doesn't take, You can graft back on a good healthy cutting from that year or the following year ! 😅 Thanks for the video !
Thanks so much! Yeah I also prefer that option and if I had more space I would 100% be doing that too, but because I need to use my space really carefully I need to raise the height of the first branches. This allows me to plant crops underneath and also be able to walk underneath as the branches protrude into the pathways 🌻
Thank you so very much 💚 I have actually moved since this video but I am planning to release a new pruning video this week. I have bought some farm land so I will be able to show nicely how trees evolve over time, which is super exciting 🌻

This is a very informative video. We have à four year old peach tree that needs a good pruning. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

@@Sam-lk6eo yes, you are spot on! What's your preferred method of grafting? If the buds you want to grow don't take do you do bud grafting? 🌻
Awesome tips. My favorite way to prune fruit trees is to cut them down to about knee height when first planting then work from there.
