this is a term more than a product. the machines go through a break in phase for the first 10 hours called a "break in period." during this period the oil is considered "break in oil." after the break in period, you're supposed to do an oil change because of the potentiality of some cast metal being in the pan do to slight manufacturing flaws. any new product or recent rebuild goes through this. wanted to clarify what I meant
about 30-45 seconds safely, I believe it can take up to a minute. anything longer can overheat the exhaust/surroundings. the switch will screech when exhaust temps exceed limits.
correct, but few seconds doesn't matter. the boat has a closed cooling system. the only problem is running over 20 seconds / long enough for the exhaust housing to heat up. it will set an alarm if the housing / waterbox gets too hot. keep in mind, this is not a traditional boat.
thanks for watching! common myth but I explain it here but these motors have closed cooling system. you can start and run these machines for about 20 seconds outside the water depending on how hot it is outside without water flow. since its plastic hull, the heat can actually melt the machine due to the waterbox not being cooled, but that takes 30+ seconds. traditionally speaking you can't run boats out of the water because of the impeller being rubber that cools the motor can disintegrate after a few seconds. these do not have that problem.
true, you can do a complete flush but I didn't feel it necessary. now if the break-in oil had any flakes I would have definitely flushed it a few times!
been there, answered this from a few earlier comments: "this is a term more than a product. the machines go through a break in phase for the first 10 hours called a "break in period." during this period the oil is considered "break in oil." after the break in period, you're supposed to do an oil change because of the potentiality of some cast metal being in the pan do to slight manufacturing flaws. any new product or recent rebuild goes through this. wanted to clarify what I meant"
Excellent video! Thank You for taking the time to show this
any time!!
Great vid thanks! Hey question, what did you use to mount the spare on the trailer? And do you know what the lug pattern is for the wheel?
Check amazon trailer mount. I purchased the 5x4.5 one for 3 in tube. Thanks for watching!
They don't use break in oil.

great job!!! thanks. How long can you run engine out of water? thanks

Where can I buy one of those oil pumps ?
Check Amazon for "Sea do 1503 / 1630 oil pump" and the same one will pop up with oil kit.
Thank you!
Is it an E10 or E8 torx?
Got am E10 and it does not fit the filter bolt
E10 female spline is an 8mm bolt, roughly fits about a T40/T45 in torx male (star)
@@WeTryMotorsports t40 t45 no where close to the size socket. star??? i hope you aren't a tech
What about the Spark Plugs? When should I change out them?
really depends if it needs plugs. you can do 25-50 hours or just wait until they burn out. I normally do plugs every 25 hours and have spares.
@@WeTryMotorsports awesome thanks
Also, can I just use a 8mm socket for the oil filter?
Where does the winter air go?
out the winter exhaust housing, per tradition
Did you not run water while running the engine?

@@WeTryMotorsports THANKS. Looking to do ours now that we have passed the break in period. We have the 2023 21' Cruise (230HP)
@@jhyatt2544 smart plan! after 10 hours or break in period, make sure an oil change is done
Great video!! What is the estimated cost of changing the oil yourself??
Thank you!! The kit with filter, oil and o-rings is about $80 now. Back when I purchased it was about $50
Do a video on the depth finder/GPS
I plan on it, boat is away for the winter but there will be a bunch in the spring
i thought it was bad to run the engine without water supply? Thanks video was good.

Make some videos on the trixx
sure, I got some I'll post soon haha
Thanks for a good video but why not change all the oil out? Just buy another gallon. You're leaving contaminated oil in to be mixed with the new.

Ahhh oil change on the Tupperware boat haha
Nope! You're thinking of the Rubbermaid Hellion!
@TheJimbob1603 no that was 2 stroke and outboard. Easy. Tupperware is brp's bulls@@t!!
no such thing as break in oil
