If you notice the guy at Best Buy connected the antenna to a surge protector and live wave clearly stated not to use a surge protector! Plug directly into the wall outlet for the product to work I have one and it really works great for me 👍🏾
Your test result pretty well holds up what Antenna Man (a Lehigh Valley resident) says about Live Wave. He even used an expletive to describe it, unusual for him!
Less than three years later, "product" is off the market. These line-wire antennas were sold back in the 1960s, and only worked via the 300-ohm wire picking up channels. They don't work any better today.
Those statements are true to anyone who knows how to use it. Who are these idiots who can't get the 50+ crystal clear channels I get with the LiveWave? Nick
Thanks a lot for your input on this live wave I'm glad I watched this before I bought one thanks again and have a great day and happy Father's Day to all that work there
The idea is that it's connected to power via 'any' grounded outlet. They are using the common ground wire system throughout the house. The problem is that it's lower than 98% of all windows, so a window antenna will typical win due to it's higher altitude and better filtering.
I came across a RUclips video in which someone was able to get OTA channels using an AC Adapter, and a coaxial cable. You take the coaxial cable, put the solid wire inside the coaxial cable into the round plug part of the AC adapter, and set the adapter on a flat surface. Once you do that, go to your TV and do Channel Scan to see what channels come up. I had an AC adapter I wasn't using, so I tried this, and I was pleasantly surprised. It does work, getting between 20-25 watchable channels. However, two things to note here. One is that the coaxial cable can come out of the AC adapter hole if you don't put it on a level surface, and two, there was one local channel I couldn't pick up with this method.
I'll bet if they took one of these scam antennas apart they would find a couple of small value capacitors to block the 60Hz current and pass the RF. These simply use the building wiring as an antenna along with all of the multipath signals. The power strip just added a few more feet of wire. It is a complete scam preying on gullible and ignorant.

"Livewave" type products have been around for years, and no, they have never worked. This is a case where the fantasy looks better than the reality. What one has to realize is that "all the wires in your home are not connected together." All wires go through a circuit breaker panel or fuse box. Thus the wires to your kitchen are not connected to your bedroom. Connect two lights and turn them on. One to a bedroom outlet and one to a kitchen outlet. Turn off a kitchen breaker to the outlet (kitchens have several splits connected to different outlets) the light goes off, yet the bedroom light stays on. If your house was one continuous wire with all outlets connected together, and all the appliances were able to work, your house would have burned down by now.
