a reminder (poem)

A poem I wrote for all those who've felt like giving up at one or multiple points...
Poem text:
and i repeat it to myself
a reminder
of how far i've come
i'm still alive
isn't that the biggest victory?
against all those who wanted us dead
we continue to exist and breathe to try and live
one day, one footstep at a time
a moment and then another minuscule moment forward
we may fall, but continue to crawl forward, we do
mighty soldiers waging wars against the tyranny of life
you weren't conceived
you weren't grown in the womb
in the maroon light
your mother didn't give you birth
for you to give up
if you can't live for yourself
then do it for vengeance
take anything, take your fury, spin it, boil it
and make it your reason to exist
make living your biggest revenge possible
strive for inner peace and joy
so much so that you can't help but share
that happiness with fellow repressed seeds
so much so that they are injected
with your indestructible light
so much so that they birth colossal hope anew
and rise from the ashes of their despair
