- Long time no see. I hope you are doing well. I've missed you.
Doing Behind The Meme has been one of the proudest accomplishments of my life, it's something that I've started to miss. Sure it has its ups and downs, but that is life in general, Right? It has taken some time and distance to observe life from a different perspective and realize the beauty of this short time we have.
I wanna give people an update on my life and what I have been doing as well as let you know about plans for the channel.
I hope you join me for a bit as we take a deeper look into some memes, weird internet occurrences and trends.

Y'know, the more he talks about himself personally, the more I realize he really never deserved any of the hate he got. He's just an optimistic dude trying to keep people happy, and the internet really built a massive hate-train against him... over memes.

No one really cared about the memes. The emotional manipulation of his audience and insensitivity towards such a serious issue is why he's truly hated.
@@odobenus159 That is just not true. His cringe fake sewerside videos were a response to the senseless hate he received that was propagated by cringe csgo surfing commentary youtube channels. What he did wasn't cool and no one likes it, but him explaining memes along with the immature hate train brought upon him by commentary channels and edgy, chronically-online internet kids is what was happening.

Yea I'm definitely glad he's back, his short humorous and informative videos were a highlight of the day when he uploaded
Looking at the comments, I am so glad people are realising how needlessly cruel and sadistic their treatment of this poor man was. Most people were probably children when it was happening and have since grown up and realised what is and isn't ok.
Tbh, I wonder how many peeps commenting on his new videos were actually his detractors back then, or if they were always fans who were drowned out by the sheer size and vocality of the haters. My guess as to what happened to the detractors is either that they grew up like you said, or they simply moved on to something else to hate on and haven’t changed at all as people.
Either way, most of his haters probably don’t even know he’s uploading again. (Heck, I didn’t know until today). I’m curious if some commenter here was in fact an unreasonable hater back then.
@@joshbuoy8661 The fact that most of those who genuinely hated BTM don't appear to have noticed he returned kind of proves one thing I've always thought about this channel: If the algorithm hadn't promoted his channel, then Behind the Meme might not have grown popular enough for anyone to care either way.
In retrospect, there were people who had genuine criticism of the videos (that the format was simple, and that Know Your Meme was quoted often among a couple other things) and there's nothing wrong with having that opinion in my book.
But there were also people who thought his intent was kill meme culture by mis explaining memes to many people, and who genuinely hated the guy for it (In the end he was doxxed of course, and I also looked at an archived 4chan thread where someone went as far as suggesting that they falsely accuse him of pedophilia to get rid of him).
The case of Behind the Meme was an unfortunate situation where everyone misread the room. His only intent was to make a channel explaining memes in short video form, but some people treated him like a corporate account because his videos were straightforward.

While I feel like the criticism towards the older videos is justified, I don't believe people's actions were justified. Plus, the videos have greatly improved in quality, and I feel like the memes are explained a lot better than they were in 2017. It's nice to see you back.

I remember right around the patrick meme era that people started to throw shade at this guy left and right, being labeled as the infamous "meme killer". People back in the day just wanted to keep one meme alive and 'keep its meaning a secret' among the meme community in order to preserve its long lasting humor, and that was really the general rule. But in the end, they're the fools for trying to keep it alive while having it be overused literally everywhere that it became more of an annoyance to see. It's a never ending cycle of madness.
I'm happy that he's back and feeling better than ever. He doesn't deserve all of that toxicity and negativity that was thrown at him. Shame on them for ruining the fun for everyone and especially for the goat himself, Behind The Meme. Much love
