Really enjoyed your video. In addition to the 4 UK KEVIII stamps I have some for Papua, Morocco and a few other places. I’ve also seen reproductions on offer for UK and Australian KEVIII stamps that were never issued. Presumably for the coronation that never happened.
Thanks for sharing this John. Very informative and helpful. I recently purchased the same SG catalogue which I got through Abebooks for half the new price. Great catalogue. As I expand my GB collection I will certainly consider more specialized one.
It's a helpful catalogue for the Machins, but lacks any depth for older material from Victoria, Edward VII and George V eras. That said, it's fine for collecting a simplified GB collection.
They are a nice set of stamps, no poor designs. As I said on the video, it's fairly easy to complete the run in it's simplest form, and not at all expensive. Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed.
Very informative, thanks so much, I'm thinking about starting an early collection of UK stamps, I must get my self a copy of the Stanley Gibbons catalogue
His whole approach to having the position of Monarch thrust upon him after his brother abdicated highlighted his dignity. That, and how he rallied the British people during the war. Shame he suffered such ill health and died young, a very "Kingly" man.
Very nice stamps. I started my GB expedition with the Jubilee issue (1887) added a few used Delarue and Waterlow seahorse(s), a 3-strip of 2p blue and another strip of penny reds, that's basically it for me.
Hi John . I have some Edward VIII covers, Papua, Nauru, New Guinea, Spanish and |French Morocco + Tangier all on Philatelic Department Selfridge & Company Ltd London W1 covers. All the same profile as the GB. I don't know of any more ! All the best Rob.
Great video, I have a large British collection that I haven't seen for a while as been concentrating on my world collection, I'm tempted to find them 😀
Wicked mate - I'm also John and I Collect Stamps 😁 Great looking stamps. Shout out from New Zealand. Have an awesome day 💥! From HWFAH (Hot Wheels, Lego, Cards & collectables)👍
Hi john. Great video. Any tips on cleaning a leather bound album thays 101 years old with gilts pages. Thanks from james in scotland. Keep licking them.
Apologies, not something I've ever had experience with. May be worth searching youtube for that, or asking your local library for assistance, if they can't help they may be able to point you in the right direction?
i don't know why they don't print the catalogues in Loose leaf A4, so that they don't have to re-print them whole and the cost of just reprinting additional pages.MERRY CHRISTMAS
SG claim they update the catalogue values every year, but I don't ever look at Cat Value other than for rare or significant stamps. It'd be great to have in a binder and just add yearly supplements.

Best reign to collect. By far the best quality of any era

Georg VI is a good jumping on point
George VI was a very handsome man which makes his stamps look very dignified
