The Kobyz or kylkobyz is an ancient Turkish bowed two-stringed instrument, widespread among the Kazakhs, Karakalpaks, Bashkirs and Tatars. The Kyrgyz variant is called kyl-kyyak. He is born in May 24 1994. He is from Kazakhstan and has been music schooled sense 5 years old and told the teacher that the piano was out of tune! He sings about 7 octaves or so! No one knows he is still learning. He sings higher than the piano can go! He also writs and compose own songs, plays bunch of instruments including Dombra there own Kazakh instrument that has a sound you can’t believe and onley 2 strings! He also sings in about 14 (Kazakh, Turkish, Usceck, Russian, Ukranian, Serbien, Bulgarian Chinese , Italien, Spanish, French, English, German, Japanese ) languages and speaks 3 so far (Kazakh, Russian and English). Dimash has an excellent education: he graduated from the College of Music with a degree in Opera Singing, university of arts in the specialty "Estrada and jazz vocals", and on June 18, 2020, he completed a master's degree in Composition. He graduated with a degree in opera from the music school at the University of Aktobe (2014), a degree in pop/jazz from the National Arts University in Nur Sultan (2018), just completed his Master's degree in composition (June 2020) and have started his PhD. He have done some contests in his life but the one I think got the worlds intension is "The Singer" (Allso called "I am a singer" or "Singer") from China in 2017. Every song from him is a vocally murder song to sing, he makes it looks so easy but insane dynamic, technique , power in the songs are unmatched . I bet until you listen to his 30th song, you will be still surprised. He has different tools in his sleeves to pull and show each time. Trust me, I listen to many iconic vocalists : mariah, Whitney, Pavarotti, Beyoncé, etc…. In terms of vocal, I would say Dimash is off the chart. This guy’s vocal is on another level: powerful, dynamics control is insane, belt long note on F#5, G5, …. And changes key in the middle of note and higher higher, he mixed on C6 as well. His songs are insanely difficult for other vocalists to sing as well. The physical and vocal stamina to sing is insane. Idk how he does that in his concerts, where he sings for like 2-3 hours with some short breaks 5 mins for each. Pipe steel for sure!

Everything is different. My two favorites now are Ave Maria(New Wave) and Ikanaida(Tokyo Jazz Festival)this is the first song Dimash sings in Japanese. He sings in over eight languages. I’ve been following him since 2017 when he was a contestant on the Chinese show Singer. He came in second but his career blew up during this show. He has fan clubs all over the world. Most importantly, he is a very humble and respectful young man. He performed to a sellout crowd at his New York concert in December of 2019. All of his concerts are sold out. As with everyone, Covid put his career on hold.

The instrument is the Kobyz. It's a 2 stringed instrument, with one string made up of 75 horse hairs, and the other string made from 60 horsehairs (and the curved bow which is made with 40 horse hairs). The strings aren't pushed down to a fret, but rather are played with pressure by either the fingernail, or by a pad on the finger, as well as the tones varied by the pressure of the bow.
Nice reaction. I heard a vocal coach or singer say the opposite of what you said. They said that starting with the "h" kept the vocal cords from bumping together in a rough way. The gentleman playing the Kobyz is master Olzhas Qurmanbeck, the best player in Kazakhstan 🎻🔝 Kobyz is an ancient tool of the Kazakh people. It was used in ancient times by steppe shamans-healers for various rites. Kobyzy is made from a single piece of wood. This is one of the oldest ways of making musical instruments in the history of mankind. It is not due to technical backwardness or the lack of metal devices. According to the ancient beliefs of many people, only in a single piece will the living singing soul of the tree remain, which will sound in the instrument. The open body and strings of the kobyz from a bunch of 30-60 untwisted horse hair give a very thick, overtone-rich timbre. The Kobyz is the first stringed instrument ever. 🔝🔝

It's so fun for us "Dears" (that’s what Dimash calls his fans because he loves us as a dear family) to see how people react to him.
Some info about Dimash. He is born in May 24 1994. He is from Kazakhstan and has been music schooled sense 5 years old and told the teacher that the piano was out of tune! He sings about 7 octaves or so! No one knows he is still learning. He sings higher than the piano can go! He also writs and compose own songs, plays bunch of instruments including Dombra there own Kazakh instrument that has a sound you can’t believe and onley 2 strings! He also sings in about 14 (Kazakh, Turkish, Usceck, Russian, Ukranian, Serbien, Bulgarian Chinese , Italien, Spanish, French, English, German, Japanese ) languages and speaks 3 so far (Kazakh, Russian and English).
Dimash has an excellent education: he graduated from the College of Music with a degree in Opera Singing, university of arts in the specialty "Estrada and jazz vocals", and on June 18, 2020, he completed a master's degree in Composition. He graduated with a degree in opera from the music school at the University of Aktobe (2014), a degree in pop/jazz from the National Arts University in Nur Sultan (2018), just completed his Master's degree in composition (June 2020) and have started his PhD.
He have done some contests in his life but the one I think got the worlds intension is "The Singer" (Allso called "I am a singer" or "Singer") from China in 2017. The Singer is a program for established Chinese singers to face off against each other invites only in a competition where votes were cast by an audience of 500.
Dimash Qudaibergen was a last-minute inclusion (a 'dark horse'). But his performance of 'SOS D'un Terrien En Detresse' electrified the audience, his fellow competitors and the viewers who numbered in the billions (this program was one of the most-watched in China and outside).
They also got him the nickname "Imported little brother" the day after the show. They also had to get bodyguard for Dimash do to the famous over night both in China and also the world. Dimash wasn’t really prepared for that. He had come to China at 22 years young man by him self and didn’t know the language. They hade contracted him for 2 shows because they didn’t think he cold go further than that. He didn’t think they would like him. So he was nervous this performers that he had also to start the show with. But they hade to change that do to his famous over night.
Dimash got many new friends from this show and he said at some point he learned a lot from it to.

Just after they got out of that room Dimash turns to his father and asks if he did good! Gloria Wu's channel has the back-story about the song that is so sad and from a life story about a boy losing his parents in an awful way. Also you get to hear how Dimash sounds like then loosing his voice the day of the show!!! When he went on he didn’t know if he could sing. Looking close at the other contestants they where so worried about him. He lost his voice again after. Li Jian another contestant bought him a very very expensive Chinese medication for him so he could get better soon!

Episode 10 : 'Unforgettable Day' In Kazakh and I think some translation in Chinese to. If I remember correct he wrote the music to this one when he was 19 years old and lyrics by Oral-kosai Baisengir, who was a poet/lyricist father of a friend of Dimash. Also in this show another contestant "Terry Lin" that was about 51 years young here he considered Dimash a dear friend at this point. But Dimash started telling them al he was his father around episode 9 I think!! That is a big respect and love from his part of the world to call him! Terry was gladly accepting it. They are still that close and also invites each other to there concerts and sometimes singing this song in duet to. They sang it in Jackie Chang movie festival in 2019 and Jackie was choked in how good they were. Terry was known as an alien before Dimash and they have similar vocals to.

Dimash is 28 years old, multi-instrumentalist, singer, composer, his voice is 7 octaves, he sings opera, pop, rap, and he likes to mix genres, I hope you will react to his songs, listen to Olimpico, which he composed for Dimash Igor Krutoy.
Every song from him is a vocally murder song to sing, he makes it looks so easy but insane dynamic, technique , power in the songs are unmatched . I bet until you listen to his 30th song, you will be still surprised. He has different tools in his sleeves to pull and show each time. Trust me, I listen to many iconic vocalists : mariah, Whitney, Pavarotti, Beyoncé, etc…. In terms of vocal, I would say Dimash is off the chart. This guy’s vocal is on another level: powerful, dynamics control is insane, belt long note on F#5, G5, …. And changes key in the middle of note and higher higher, he mixed on C6 as well. Of course he only does whistle on 7th and 8th octave, he does head voice on 6th octave such as F6.

The way I found to celebrate the majesty of Dimash's talent was to have written the following about him: If I were to rule the world, I would immediately add, to the universal declaration of human rights, another article (they would become 31) whose wording would next "All human beings have the right, at least once in their lives, to hear Dimash sing". I am a Professor and I believe that I have a special profession that allows me to transform the human heart and consequently the human society. I work with young people and young people need to have good references. I had been looking for someone for a long time, of whom I could speak to the young people I work with, as a good reference. That person should be young, a super talent, a super mega star in the art world and above all, because he is the most important, a good human person. I searched and never found anyone with these characteristics. Until, finally, I found this person and that person is Dimash. I had the opportunity to say this to Dimash, personally, when I was with him in Latvia where I went, coming from Portugal (there are 8000 km round trip), on the 7th of March 2020. Dimash and the composer of this song, Igor Krutoy (at the piano), often use archetypes in their music, the hero's journey in this composition. This epic piece evokes the journey of soul (wandering in ancient times, haunted by memories, and lost lives and loves ) as it finds itself in an expanded state of awareness (new ground, chance to know who I am, begin again). His songs are insanely difficult for other vocalists to sing as well. The physical and vocal stamina to sing is insane. Idk how he does that in his concerts, where he sings for like 2-3 hours with some short breaks 5 mins for each. Pipe steel for sure!

By the way, Dimash himself is rarely satisfied with his performance. I’m not a professional, but I also noticed the “h” and guessed that it’s easier to “enter the right note” this way.

It begins with the shyness and doubt of a stranger who enters a territory totally alien to him (when he plays in piano mode and with sounds surrounded by encouragement), he moves on to the desire to test his strength to achieve a new beginning in music. life. (then when he achieves that magnificent passage through the entire spectrum of his vocal range using very different singing techniques in each register) and finally reaches the power of the victorious hero who not only tried, not only fought but finally defeated him (when he shows us the power of his belt and that super long high note of 20 seconds)! I only marked 3 moments, but they were more because between the choruses there were 2 slightly different moments of narration, but both in their register under the bass-baritone and there was another chorus (in total there were 4 choruses and two parts a little more of the story , all in different dynamics, different tonalities and very different vocal techniques interpreted impeccably from a technical point of view, but also with strong emotional effects in the sense of an impressive and maximum effect on the public that practically listened to the almost entire song hypnotized) ! For me it was the perfect song of the moment and it was a sublime demonstration of how far Dimash Qudaibergen can progress even though he is already far above his contemporaries. In this song he covered from C2 to F6! The special instrument is called kobyz, it is made of a single piece of carved wood, lined with goatskin, with two strings of horse hair. It is a traditional tool for peoples of Turkish origin, such as the Kazakhs, and has been considered a magical tool used by shamans in healing rituals in particular!

Everything is different. My two favorites now are Ave Maria(New Wave) and Ikanaida(Tokyo Jazz Festival)this is the first song Dimash sings in Japanese. He sings in over eight languages. I’ve been following him since 2017 when he was a contestant on the Chinese show Singer. He came in second but his career blew up during this show. He has fan clubs all over the world. Most importantly, he is a very humble and respectful young man. He performed to a sellout crowd at his New York concert in December of 2019. All of his concerts are sold out. As with everyone, Covid put his career on hold.

The instrument is the Kobyz. It's a 2 stringed instrument, with one string made up of 75 horse hairs, and the other string made from 60 horsehairs (and the curved bow which is made with 40 horse hairs). The strings aren't pushed down to a fret, but rather are played with pressure by either the fingernail, or by a pad on the finger, as well as the tones varied by the pressure of the bow.
