Blink Twice 5 Stars “A Brutal, Bloody, Banging Thriller"
We all know Magic Mike, well get set to meet menacing/mental/ monster Mike. Channing Tatum in one of his best performances sinks his teeth into the role of Slater King, a micro dosing vaping tech billionaire fresh off the back of public apologies for abusing his power and back in the spotlight at his annual gala dinner.
It’s here Frida played by Naomi Ackie best known for portraying Whitney Houston in her biopic, & her best mate Jess played by Ali Shawkat from Arrested Development are invited to tag along with Slater’s crew to his remote exotic island where you know things maybe aren’t as idyllic as they seem.
The directorial debut for Zoë Kravitz - I love actors turned directors like Clint Eastwood, Greta Gerwig, Clint Eastwood, and Zoe nails directing her fiancé Channing with the pair first connecting when Kravitz sent Tatum a draft of the script and successfully recruited him to star as the lead.
This blew my mind and I’d watch again in a heartbeat. It takes a truly nasty turn so watch out.
