  • So I tried Bikram Yoga for 11 full days so I could give a honest and fair review. I had thought of doing 30 days in a row, but once I got to day 7 my body was telling me to give it a rest.
The experience has been quite a ride, and I encourage almost anyone to give it a shot.
Here is a write up of my very first Bikram experience... www.jasonmoffatt.com/health/my...
The video explains the next 10 sessions and how I feel.
I also created a new review video after 50 classes and my thoughts are a wee bit different and worth checking out.... • Bikram Yoga Review Aft...
If you'd like to check out more of my stuff you can peep my personal blog at www.jasonmoffatt.com and my business blog at www.profitmoffatt.com

'...down on my knees, grasping for breath, and praying for death' I LOVED that line. I am in my second month of practicing Bikram Yoga and your statement was SOOO ME last month. I am addicted and I truly love it. Some of the pain I had in my lumbar spine region, feet, and knees during and after the class is lessened in my second month. It does get better! This was an awesome review. :-)

I completely agree, I started doing bikram and HATED it but once i stopped, I missed it and how great it made me feel inside and out. I also tried different studios and found an incredible teacher that taught me how to do postures right (which is sooo important), how to breathe, pushed me when I was slacking, and it made a world of a difference. Bikram has helped me in all aspects of my life, its unbelievable.

I agree 107degrees, I mean percent. It's completely addicting, hard core, and amazingly transformational. Your video describes my experience to the T. I've done 10 classes now and find myself craving it everyday. The one thing I've noticed that you didn't mention is how super soft it has made my skin. Thanks for sharing Jason

Yes, it's similar to hot yoga as far as the heat goes, but Bikram is a very strict set of 26 postures at 105 degrees where as other classes may be a bit more flexible in the postures and temperature.

Great stuff Jason - glad the experience has been transformative for you. I've noticed over the last couple of months the changes in you !that you talk about. Buddy, you even sound different!
I remember the days when you used to do UStream on occasion- even staying up with you for a 24 hour one.
New new Jason is really cool. Great to see you so happy and centered.
    Cheers bud,
    Frank

Great review... I've been doing Bikram for four months, 4-5 times a week, and all you mentioned about your reviews is right.

Great philosophy, My biggest challenge is finding balance between all the areas in my life. It always seems like I go balls to the wall in one direction or in reverse. As for the Yoga, I wish we had a Bikram out here in the Philly area, it sounds really cool.

I'm so jealous right now... I had to give up Bikram. The classes are SOOO expensive here in Paris, France :'(
There are only 3 schools that give them, so basically no competition to lower the price. I'm so pissed!

Awesome man, good stuff! I agree with you on the restaurant yelp thing.. You really need at least a 3 times for a restaurant to give a review.
So is this similar to Hot Yoga I suppose? One of those just opened up right next to my house.
Cheers bro! (or light up) lol

Did you really say you get stoned BEFORE class! I love a good smoke, but no way I could do a Bikram class high (although does that sound interesting). I've practiced Bikram for 10 months and love every class! You hit the nail on the head with those who fear the repetition or think it will get boring. Those postures are DIFFICULT to master and that is the goal. Good for you for sticking with it!

Are you still doing Bikram? If so, have you seen anymore imporvement? Me and my sister just started it two days ago and we are ALREADY addicted. And everything you said in this review was very true.. I feel like shit and i want to die when i am in the class but the after math is so incredible! Love it

I do still do Bikram when I can. I moved to Oregon and the closest class is about a hour away from my house, so when I do go into town I try to take a class, although I'm only making it about once a week. Thinking about building a yurt and using it as my own private hot studio.

I just tried Bikram last night and... Wow!!!! Kicked my a _ _ ! I love it and going back tomorrow. I made it most of the way - probably first 70-Min and then had to sit for a few poses. I'm going back on Friday/Sat/Sun - onward.

@ 2:10 about it being the same routine in each class... true... but after final corpse pose, the time is yours to do what you want, to really stay in the room (even though you may not want to stay in the heat any longer) and stretch out in your own way makes up for the same ol' routine. @ 3:50's booze comment: same here. 2 1/2 glasses of wine and I had a terrible hangover the following day. Amazing how it works, huh?

Missing surfing so freaking bad right now. Although snowboarding has been a nice replacement. Can't wait to get some waves again.

Hahaha same here! It helps kill the 'awww damn it's gonna be so hot n miserable' aspect for me. Go into the room calm, that's what I need....

Yeah, I usually take a few tokes before class. It helps me mellow out my breathing. However I'm going to try to go a week without it at all and see how that makes me feel.

LMBO @ grasping for air and praying for death lolol... Oh wow.. I'm trying to make the final step and just attend a class. I've been completely vegan for the past 6 months and I understand the whole body rejecting alcohol thing. I already feel great and I was thinking getting into a Bikram class would just complete me :)
