- Welcome to the latest episode of Big Trip! Today I am at Stirling located on the Highland Main Line and Croy Line where services are seen ScotRail and LNER.
Stirling was a lot bigger than I expected it to be, the station has some nice views going out of the station but has a lot of platforms that are out of use and not used either by much or at all. The weather held out very well considering I was slightly higher up in Scotland than normal. The variety is very different with electric units floating around quite a bit but with the odd diesel loco/unit popping in a fair bit throughout. This is one of the places in Scotland you wouldn't think is a city but it actually is one, and quite a nice looking one at that. Overall, this was a great station and one I would recommend.

@@KTVTransport hey any time. It's all good goodys. :)
Nice video
Thank you!
At 17:00 i saw the platforms signs that said platform 6 and platform 8. Is there a Platform 7 at Stirling @KTV Videos
I believe there is but it's not used much.
Yes but it is a terminus platform.
Stirling has a strange platform layout.
No platform 1
Platforms 2&3 are the up and down mainline platforms to or from Dunblane / Perth etc.
Then 4&5 are north facing bay platforms typically only used for shunting movements.
6 is bi-directional to or from Alloa
7&8 are southbound bay platforms towards Larbert / Glasgow
9 is another Bi-directional through platform (opposite platform 6) for services to and from Alloa
10 is a full length south facing bay, sometimes used by the early morning LNER service to London which starts here . . . Though not always.
2 services
Are they getting rid of pendolinos (virgin trains). I don’t want them to
I don't think so bud.
