The Garmin VivoActive HR Watch includes an Elevate™ integrated heart-rate monitor and GPS tracking, making this a compact, do-it-all, multi-sport device. The optical heart rate sensor measures HR right at the wrist, so there's no need to wear a separate chest strap, while GPS and GLONASS reception obviates the need to carry a smartphone to track location. However, the VivoActive still allows smart device pairing in order to display text / call / social medial notifications, as well as allowing music control and fitness updates through Garmin Connect.
Activity profiles cover specific metrics for running, biking, swimming, skiing, golf, rowing, and more thanks to customizable apps, widgets, and watch faces from the Connect IQ™ store.
