If you have issues where the part goes the wrong direction or go through the collision object you most likely have the parts too small in the scene. Make the parts larger. Also you do not need to add any pressure just leave it zero. Silk gives the best results. Put gravity -980 and use the simulate and once you click cancel the the part over collides move the key frame slider back to get the amount of collision you need.
You probably already figured this out, but you need to add the Cloth modifier to the bottom platform, open the Object Properties and set it as a Collision Object at the bottom.
this video is so much help thank you so much! but my cushion doesnt move till it meets the sofa, when i increase the gravity and simulate, nothing happens i dont know why!
Thanks for this very helpful video!..... Can you help me on how to save it as an object and remove the animation, without removing your final desired shape of the pillow? Thanks!
Whenever I start the drop it collides but not on the plane I set up for the collision but Above it. I have tried reset XForms but it dos nothing and I double check my bounding boxes. Any ideas?
+Jez2008UK That is very strange to me. I have come across other people who refuse to use Ortho views, but for me it is by far the most efficient / fastest way to work.
Ortho vs Perspective is a common controversy in my workplace. In my opinion, Perspective is superior when your primary concern is framing and composition, Orthographic is superior when you are modeling something based upon a plan or schematic. In this case he is just free-form modeling with concern neither to composition of a render nor adhering to to specific measurements, so it really comes down to personal preference.

My modeling skill has increased by 1 point.
Thank you for this clear and beautiful tutorial 🙏
Wow. Thank you very much. I am happy thanks to you. (I'm Korean and Google translation may be misleading.)
Awesome tutorial. Many thanks for making this.
THANK YOU, IT HELPED ME
Thanks for this tutorial ! Very clean and very useful :)
6:00 i set my gravity -100 just like you but when i simulate, the pillow just goes through the platform to the bottom. What's wrong?

This is the right way. However, results can be much better than in the tutorial.
For sure. Hopefully it shows people the method, then they can use it to make something way better.

thank you for this Tutorial 😍😍😍
Until 6:48, I followed the instruction.. but when I press the Simulate.. It suddenly the pillow is gone.. Can you tell me please? Thanks
I have the same problem. Please tell me if you have found the solution. :)
change the graphity to zero
Great tutorial!
That was nice and simple to make the pillows for the sofa I had to model for 3D modeling class. Thanks (5*)
Thank you! :)
thanks man!!
Hi sir I need 3d furniture model, and how can I have it 3d Furniture model
Very useful
finally when i simulate, it just inflate without any wrinkles . dont know why . i just followed the tutorial

You should just be able to go to the desired location in your animation, then right click the object and convert to edit poly.
thank u, so helpfull! ^ ^
my add object is not working in cloth modifier??
You probably could have added that seam after your final sim so that your sim wouldn't be bogged down.
thank you!
awsomeeee
great
thnx a lot bro
i cant seem to get the last part of the collision simulation correct, it keeps crashing my 3DS
When I start the simulation of pillow, it falls and get through into from another box without stopping. How may I fix that ?
Change gravity to 0.
nice thank you
hello sir plz sare modling ke tools bhi bolte rahiye hindi main

Great tut, but man the cloth sim in max is shit
I lot of people are now using Marvelous Designer, which is certainly a much better cloth simulator.
zillus Do you know if you can do internal pressure in MD?
Yes, you can. It kind of does everything the 3ds Max cloth modifier does, but much more. Plus, it is way more efficient and fast in its calculations.
I love u
OMG, that would take me a thousand hours to do. Anyway can you send me that cushion as a template, that I can paste images on to. lol

Great tutorial but I *really* dislike orthographic views !

Next time, just keep the video full screen... It's so irritating when you zoom in and out for no reason.
Agreed. That was the old way the software did it. You'll notice now that all my videos are just high res full screen. Thanks for watching.
