      yeah by that logic, it's impossible to save someone from dying in general, since you can't retroactively save someone from dying. impossible to prevent disease, as it can only be treated after the fact. just completely ignores the possibility of preventing an eventuality. it's amazing how such a simple logical error comes across to so many modern people as some kind of zinger that supports protestant heresy. if ever you needed proof that people are getting dumber with human "progress," not smarter, put this one in the box

      Uhmm, I wonder if it's possibly more to do with this subject?
      ruclips.net/video/4J--FxFcdVg/видео.html
      This has happened in so many countries for so many years, maybe it is time for children to learn to be scared of all Roman Catholic clergy?
      btw. I am from a large R.C. family, but was 'born again' 40 years ago.
      I have read and studied R.C. on and off over the years and I am 100% convinced R.Catholicism is a fake, devil inspired, man made counterfeit Christianity, designed to fool the World.
      I can count on one hand how many Catholics I've met who say they read the Bible.
      But I've never met one who could even name the books of the Bible, let alone understand them.
      The next time you meet someone new who says he is roman Catholic, ask them to name the books of the Bible and see the look you get.
      (Jesus said, Marvel not that i said unto thee, Ye MUST be born again." John 3:7)
      Peter writing to those who had been born again, said;
      "Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the Word of God, which liveth and abideth forever." 1peter 1:23.
      Then in chapter 2 verse 2 he says,
      "As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the Word."
      There are more verses about being born of God.
      This is a real, Spiritual truth.
      If Jesus said it's a must, and Peter affirmed it, then that would be enough for me;
      So for all R.Catholics reading this comment, I would ask you to ask yourself,..Am I born again by the Spirit of God?
      I know you are told you were born again when you were sprinkled as a baby, but that's a damnable lie. (Excuse my bluntness, but it's your eternal life and death that's on the line here.)
      Anyway at least just give a think about it.

      Yeah. I grew up in a Pentacostal family that believed that Catholics weren't even Christians. I outgrew that idea when I was a teenager but still heavily looked down upon Catholicism. And even when I started becoming more devout about 2 years ago I still thought this about Catholicism. But about a month ago I came to embrace Catholicism and wholly reject Protestantism. I'm still trying to figure out if I should be Roman Catholic or Orthodox Catholic but I know I'm definitely going to be one of those two. If you're still in that relationship and he still hasn't embraced Catholicism try talking to him about Apostolic Succession. That was what really convinced me to embrace Catholicism and then after that it was like the veil was lifted and I realized how absolutely silly Protestantism actually is. Best of luck to you!

      Only by faith in Jesus can you achieve salvation, but faith without deeds is dead. If you truly are a follower of Christ, then it should be natural for you, that you want to strive after being able to actually follow the ten commandments, out of a willing heart. Speaking about the ten commandments, the fourth commandment tells us to keep the day of rest holy. The day of rest is Saturday, or sabbath, as the day is named in the Bible. Not Sunday, contrary to what most Christians believe. The sabbath is also named the seventh day of the week. In six days, God worked and created heaven and earth and everything between,and on the seventh day (Saturday) God rested from his work. It was the seventh day (Saturday) that God blessed, and it was the seventh day (Saturday) that God sanctified. The day of rest (sabbath, seventh day, Saturday) is meant for holy use, for the church to gather. It's meant for us, so that we may find rest, healing and peace in God. And now I'm asking you to either use the Bible to tell me that I'm wrong, or you should say nothing against this at all. Because if you speak against what I just said, you are speaking against the word of God himself

      So unless you were there with him as he died you have absolutely no right to say whether he repeated or not before he died because you do not see the persons heart - especially in death!
      When I worked in emergency medicine I was always prepared to say the act of contrition into any Catholics ear should they likely die/have time of death called before we could get a Priest there in time.
      The reason why? Because it is believed that even in the unconscious body the soul can do a perfect act of contrition if it truly wants to.

      The Catholic Church also holds that the Sabbath day is still Saturday. It simply teaches that the Lord’s Day(Sunday) satisfies the sabbath keeping command. It can do this because the minute Christ rose from the dead, it means that there is a “new creation” and this new creation is not dependent on a 7-day weekly cycle but rather has only 1 day which exists in perpetuity. This never-ending 8th day is what’s being talked about in Revelation 22:5. It’s also why God told them to circumcise males on the 8th day after birth. This never-ending day began on Sunday. So in one sense it is the first day of the week but in another sense it is the ONLY day of the week.

      @YAJUN YUAN
      Ah, no. You see God is eternal…so there is no expectation of the New Day for Him. It exists before Him as an eternal present. It is simply the carnal man that does not perceive this is the truth. That’s why Paul wrote:
      (Galatians 6:14)
      “But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is ⭐️crucified unto me⭐️, and I unto the world.”
      Therefore this eternal day already exists.
      Moving on, while it may be the case that the 8th day is when clotting factors kick in, this in and of itself does not constitute an either/or conclusion. It could be that the clotting factor kicks in on that day by God’s design because He always foreknew that this 8th day would be a vital symbol of the never-ending day of Revelation 22. Which of course, it is. That is the interpretation of the Church-which is infallible.
      In fact, it’s quite interesting that you drew no connection whatsoever to the spiritual significance of the number 8-as the Creation week only has 7 days…thinking that this number 8 has ONLY to do with clotting factor. You dismiss the possibility that maybe-just maybe-God had another thing He was foreshadowing with this number.
      It’s one of those carnal minded reflexes:
      (Matthew 16:8)
      “Aware of their discussion, Jesus asked, “You of little faith, why are you talking among yourselves about having no bread?
      So again, stop dismissing Catholic teaching because you are a carnally minded person. Accept it because it is true.
      You wrote:
      “The entire Decalogue including the still remain until that time…”
      Ah, no. Again, the 10-commandments are eternal. They never disappear. They can, however, transform.
      You wrote:
      “The Catholic Church admits it doesn’t have the power to change divine moral laws.”
      The moral law hasn’t been changed by the Catholic Church. Only the ceremonial aspect of the law has been changed.
      The Catholic Church changed the ceremonial keeping of the sabbath from Saturday to Sunday because this is the condition as it exists in the “never-ending day” of Revelation 22. No one keeps the Saturday Sabbath in the New Heavens and the New Earth-even so, the MORAL aspect underpinning the sabbath is always being observed because the Lord is being worshipped by those who dwell in that eternal day, 24/7.
      So yes, the Saturday physical sabbath was always ceremonial. It has to be, since Saturday itself is attached to a physical creation which Paul explained, has already been crucified.
      Please review Galatians 6:14. It is precisely because you did not understand this passage that you are objectively wrong about what it is you are saying.

    What I don’t get about some Protestants rejecting the Mother of God dogma is that, given the historical context when this was defined, it was used as an argument for the divinity of Jesus when there existed heresies that rejected such. Re the filioque, Jesus used the word proceed from the Father and He only sent the Spirit within time. It's not the biggest deal but it does alter Trinitarian doctrine in a way that makes it less neat, but that aside, why not stick with the language Jesus used, which is the only phrase approved by a council. Filioque was clearly added afterward for a specific reason (to emphasise the divinity of Jesus to heretics) and that reason was redundant in any case.

Without it, the Bible simply becomes a source of confusion and misunderstanding as you see today with protestantism and its other offshoots.

    • @floridaman318
      @floridaman318 2 года назад

      @YAJUN YUAN Scripture itself tells us there is knowledge that got transmitted that wasn't written down. You think in a time before mass literacy the only thing that would have been relied on is the written word? That's just not realistic or an accurate understanding of history. Almost all knowledge we have from before the last few hundred years was passed orally and written down later. The same applies to Scripture itself. People memorized and passed it on orally for the most part. You are projecting the modern ubiquity of the written word and mass literacy onto the past.

    There is another small point Trent left out related to the Queenship of Mary. This is a point I’ve heard made in other talks related to Mary’s various titles. In OT times, kings commonly had multiple wives. This included Hebrew kings. Imagine trying to choose one to be the queen. At the very least, it would spark intense rivalry and intrigue. In fact, in kingdoms where one of the many wives was queen, this was always the case, creating a situation where one or more jealous wives were tempted to murder others who were in more favored positions. The not so surprising and very wise solution to the problem used by Hebrews was for the king’s mother to be the queen. Not the “Queen Mother” which is a very different title with a different role and responsibilities, but Queen.
    Related to this, it should also be noted that BOTH Mary and Joseph were not only direct descendants of King David, but also the closest living heirs to the kingship of David. Jesus was King of the Jews by both divine right and human inheritance. As the mother of Jesus, who is both God and man, Mary is his Queen by both divine right and human inheritance.
    I should add that few Christians dispute the fact that Jesus gave His all holding nothing back. It makes sense that this included His own perfect mother.
    It also makes sense that Mary, as the New Eve, was given the same advantage as the original Eve…which is a fresh start. The sanctification of Jesus was applied to her at conception so that she could be born without the stain of original sin. Like the first Eve, God allowed her to be tested by Satan. I’m certain she was tempted not just once, but many times throughout her life. Unlike the first Eve, Mary’s obedience to God was perfect. There was never a time when she fell prey to Satan’s temptation. Had this not been the case, she would not have been a suitable living Ark of the New Covenant carrying and caring for the living Son of God who is Jesus.

      19 When Bathsheba went to King Solomon to speak to him for Adonijah, the king stood up to meet her, bowed down to her and sat down on his throne. He had a throne brought for the king’s mother, and she sat down at his right hand.

      But! Catholics also ❤ Mary...and there are *zero* relics of Mary.
      Even if one (maybe *especially*) thinks that most relics are fakes, and that there are "enough fragments of the True Cross to build a fleet of ships" - it is very telling that no one even attempts to create fake Marian relics.

      @YAJUN YUAN 'It' may absolutely not have been anything other than completely non-existent, because Mary's Virginity is perpetual, as it was defined by the Church founded by her divine Son. If you don't believe that, you are not a Catholic, which means you are not a Christian, and you probably reject much more than just this dogma. The marriage between the Blessed Virgin Mary and Saint Joseph was not like any other marriage. Infertility is an imperfection, and Mary is perfect. And to assume that they 'must' have had marital relations like everybody else, you must explicitly contradict the Church, and refuse to consider that she is not like any other woman in history. This is the Queen of Angels you are talking about. The actual Mother of God. The Virgin of Virgins.

    • @fivelakeskitchenandbath9458
      @fivelakeskitchenandbath9458 3 года назад

      @YAJUN YUAN so the belief of Mary's perpetual virginity that has been believed my the ancient church, both catholic and orthodox, for the past 2000 years is wrong, but the novel belief that she wasn't a Virgin taught by some western European in the 18th century is right? Really?
      Funny reply of Mary when told she will be with child, " for how can this be, for I know not man" would be rather peculiar as she was already betrothed to Joseph.
      Mary IS the type of the Ark of the Covenant, much greater than the Ark too. What was in the Ark- Manna(bread from heaven) staff of Aaron(sign of the eternal priest) and the 10 commandments(word of God), Mary held what was greater- the ACTUAL word of God made flesh- The True eternal priest- and the ACTUAL bread of life. The Ark was so holy that if anyone touched it they died. You really think that Mary, who was overshadowed by the shekina cloud, and the only person to touch perfection and not die, would be able to be touched in that way?
      The blessed Virgin isn't God's baby's mama, she is the Theotokos- the God bearer. Greater than any prophet, greater than any angel, greater than any human to ever exist(who isn't God) Mary's womb is sacred, not because of her but because of what was inside of it- God incarnate. It is a tabernacle of the Most High. NO ORTHODOX Christian had ever believed she wasn't a perpetual Virgin, even the Muslims believe that😆

    🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation:
    00:57 📜 Mary's perpetual virginity is a doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church. Claims that Mary did not remain a virgin after giving birth to Jesus, based on Matthew 1:24-25, do not disprove this doctrine, as the use of "until" does not imply a change in condition.
    04:52 🏠 Jesus is said to have brothers and sisters in the Bible, but these were likely step-siblings from Joseph's previous marriage or close relatives. The term "brother" was used more broadly in the Jewish context.
    09:17 💧 The Immaculate Conception doctrine states that Mary was sinless, free from original sin, and lived a sinless life. This belief is to ensure that Jesus, her son, would not inherit sin and guilt.
    14:36 🙏 The Bible verses, like Luke 1:47,do not necessarily prove that Mary sinned. Her proclamation of God as her Savior can be understood in various ways, including salvation from temporal threats.
    17:04 🌿 While Jesus had a fully human nature, he did not have a sinful nature. He was born with a nature like that of the sinful human race but did not have the inclination to sin.
    21:16 💪 Jesus was tempted by the devil and experienced physical effects but did not sin because he is a divine person. The devil's temptation was likely due to a lack of knowledge regarding Jesus's divinity.
    23:53 🤨 The devil isn't the opposite of God and didn't fully understand Jesus's true identity.
    24:06 📖 The Roman Catholic doctrine of the assumption of Mary isn't directly from scripture but from apostolic tradition.
    25:31 ⚰️ The Bible doesn't teach that people go straight to heaven or hell upon death; they await judgment.
    27:31 📜 The Bible suggests a particular judgment after death, and some souls are conscious in heaven.
    34:49 🔮 Praying to Mary isn't considered spiritism, as she's not a spirit or medium but a saint who can intercede for believers.
    37:20 👻 Some alleged apparitions of the Virgin Mary are believed to be demonic deceptions.
    44:16 🌟 The title "Mother of God" (Theotokos) attributed to Mary emphasizes that she gave birth to the God-Man, Jesus Christ, who had both divine and human natures.
    48:20 🌟 The title of "Queen of Heaven" for Mary dates back to around the 4th century, reflecting a Jewish background, not strictly a pagan one.
    52:13 🙏 The Roman Catholic Church's title of "Mediatrix" for Mary implies she is a female mediator for all graces, which contradicts the Bible's assertion that Jesus is the sole mediator.
    55:41 🛡️ The claim that "all salvation depends on Mary" is a theological opinion, not official church teaching. It highlights Mary's role in God's plan but doesn't mean salvation comes through her.
    59:37 📖 Revelation 12's symbolic woman can represent both Mary and the Church, demonstrating the complexity of interpreting the Bible's symbolism.

      @YAJUN YUAN portadora de Dios is not a term used in Spanish. It's easy un english.
      La que dio luz a Dios is not used at all. At least not as a noun yo refer to Mary. Not even : Portadora de Dios, as God Bearer, Theotokos. Our use of words for our Blessed Mother is very límited, I'm afraid.
      That's why people (Who know the term) use It as It is, Theotokos. And then explain the meaning.
      Have a nice day.

    Christ clearly teaches that the saints in heaven are not dead.
    "And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err." (Mark 12)

      The word 'dead' means separated.
      They are 'alive' and present with the Lord, that's true.
      But they are separated or dead to us, as well as from their body.
      So not being divine themselves they don't hear every word spoken by every human being on earth.
      Heaven is a long way away.
      You have to be God himself to hear another human pray.
      And as you said, they're in heaven, not on Earth.

      @@parrisroy "And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence." (Luke 16)
      This separation refers to damnation, not physical death.
      "and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats"
      (Matthew 25)
      Again, this separation refers to damnation.
      "He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn"
      (Matthew 9)
      Death of the body is compared to physical sleep. The soul of a saint is present with the Lord.
      "Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?"
      (John 11)
      "Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?"
      (Acts 3)
      The saints in heaven or on earth do the will of God--- whatever that may be--- by the power of God.
      "They called out in a loud voice, 'How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?”
      (Revelation 6)
      The saints in heaven are conscious and active.
      "I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things. Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God."
      (Revelation 22)
      One may interact with the servants of God, but only God is to be worshiped.

    I find it mildly annoying that some of the biblical texts say things like “we must all” and Greg is automatically like “that includes Mary that includes Mary!” Like, when talking about all of humanity do you want the scripture writers to say “we must all* (except Mary)” like, that just doesn’t make sense to me. One exception doesn’t mean you can’t still make general statements

    44:30 Not only Nestorian idea of the Theotokos, but eventually a Nestorian understanding of Jesus death on the cross. Since death in Adventism means souls sleep (which is the human souls ceasing consciousness). You have “Jesus of Nazareth” the human subject ceasing for three days while the divine Jesus is somewhere else. Anathema

    While my support and understanding of Mary’s perpetual virginity is from scriptures, history, revelations, etc, I still have an arguably silly reasoning for it.
    Mary is the New Ark of the Covenant, forming Jesus of the Word in her womb in a place no one save the spirit can enter. The Ark of the Covenant was placed in the Temple and transporting the Ark took specific people to handle and even the high priest could only enter the sanctuary once a year. It’s mentioned explicitly what happened when a nonLevite touched the Ark to steady it: he was struck down on the spot.
    Joseph was a righteous man, knew his scripture, knew what Mary’s pregnancy meant, received visions from angels whenever he was in doubt, and knew Jesus’s birth was special. Why, after all that, would he even think about knowing Mary that way?! I’ve gotten teasing from friends about this, but I can’t help but think he had that poor nonLevite guy in mind when all of that was taking place.
    Just saying he was an honorable, righteous, and intelligent man. Pretty sure he would have realized Jesus would be Mary’s one and only child after everything they went through.

      Bless you for keeping St. Joseph in mind. This year I've been holding a special devotion to St. Joseph; as The Pope has declared this to be a Year to St. Joseph. St. Joseph is master of the interior life. He never says a word in the Bible, but always quick to take action when told by God's messengers. I humbly thank you for your 'silly' insights into what he may have been thinking.

    • @swoosh1mil
      @swoosh1mil 3 года назад +1

      There also is the belief that St. Joseph already had children from a previous marriage. Maybe his intent was not so much to have more children, but help with raising his existing children. Being a righteous man he would of course given Mary at least one son of her own. But God's providence took care of that. Just me thinking 🤔.

    • @jendoe9436
      @jendoe9436 3 года назад +1

      @swoosh1mil while true most couple did marry and conceived children, some marriages were actually a bit different. The man and woman were still husband and wife, but parties actually remained celibate and lived more like brother and sister.
      Part of this could have been protection for the woman since she couldn’t do much in society, other times it was both parties wanting to devote themselves entirely to God but couldn’t join the religious.
      I read a theory some time ago that Mary could have actually been a temple virgin, a young woman who was consecrated to God, and she may have taken a personal vow of chastity. Joseph was probably a bit older than her and was arranged to be her husband so Mary could be cared for in life since temple virgins could only be there for so long before they were married off to start families. Her parents arranged the marriage to Joseph with his family, and he himself probably had some virtues of chastity as I’m sure Mary and her parents made it known what she wanted to do. All speculation based off some theories gleamed from what research is out there, but not fully unprecedented and has some roots in history.
      There have been couples in Church history who married but lived as brother and sister, or where one/both spouse(s) join a religious order with the Church’s blessing.
      Joseph having other children could also be valid, but even step-children had some duty to take care of their step-elder relatives. Since Jesus gave Mary to John the disciple, we can definitely infer Mary had no children herself unless Jesus meant to insult his younger siblings by entrusting her care to a stranger over her own blood. However, any children Joseph had would have also been in the right and obligated to take her into their home. To not do so would have been viewed as disrespectful to Mary and the entire family. Once again, we can gleam Joseph may have not other children, if he did then they must be gone since they’re not mentioned explicitly, or Jesus was once again insulting his older step-siblings.
      Like I said, these are mainly theories but I think they have some decent weight to them. Maybe there will be revelation one day to confirm, or we’ll just have to wait til we die to ask.
