DETAILS:
The residents woke up to their car alarm sounding. When they stepped outside, they found their SUV on fire. They called 911 and attempted to use a garden hose on the fire. The firefighters arrived and doused the flames.
The MAST team will investigate the following reasons. The fire was set on the outside of the rear portion of the SUV. The SUV hadn’t been used in the last several days.
UPDATE: Surveillance video from across the street did see the arsonist light the fire and run.
The owners provided extra video from their home security camera and their Tesla.
While anything is always possible, it is hard to think that someone would just randomly pick an SUV and set it on fire. There is likely a more personal reason why this vehicle was targeted. Hopefully the MAST investigators will figure out what the true story is.
yeah but also realize that that reason could be bullshit or even like comically stupid... Everyday people die because ghetto mentally unwell people feel someone is looking too long or even over road rage.
Seems like vehicle arson is becoming the new thing now. Too many bad people running around who should be behind bars.
Or six feet under.

Something fishy is going on. They resident has video of the fire, yet doesn't have video of the person lighting the fire? I hope MAST gets to the bottom of this, insurance fraud is my first guess.
