I like the new system. Game is a game - everyone has the same rules, there is no negative parts. Yes it is different than original rallying was but the Sunday was so much fun!!!! If the winner wants more points, just continue pushing and winning on SUnday - no one forbids that (no excuses for someone else taking the points)!
@@Matthew-ll9ke does your brain work alright? Doesnt seem like it. Just GET RID OF IT, what do you mean, what do I mean. Keep the current points, and change the points system from Portugal onwards. You wouldnt need to change the points that have already been scored to fit this new system. They were scored in another system, why would you need to mess with whats already been scored just because you changed the points system? You seem to think really strongly theyd need to do that, so whys that? Cus to me, you dont need to do that at all, keep what everyone already has and change the system back to normal
Thanks to David and the dirtfish team for the coverage all weekend. Top quality as always. Tanak said it right I think. He is coming away with great points for finishing 4th which kind of cheapens the value of finishing at the very sharp end. Needs to be reviewed for certain.
People watch sport because they want genuine emotions, trying to make it more exiting through such contrived methods such as this scoring system will never make people happy. This sport is about going fast without crashing.
I genuinely thought it wasn't possible to come up with a worse championship format in motorsport than the NASCAR Playoffs, but this points system just about manages it. It's stupid, confusing, illogical, and undermines the entire concept of rally racing. In trying to prevent drivers cruising around on Sunday, all its done has created a situation where guys cruise through Friday and Saturday instead, if they believe they can't win overall, and somehow pick up as many points or more as the overall rally winners. Its nonsense. And *all* the top.drivers are unanimously saying the same thing - there's no debate. It's garbage. And at a time where the WRC is facing serious issues like a dwindling car count in Rally1, spiralling costs and a lack of manufacturer interest, the last thing they needed was to alienate their own fans, drivers and teams with this utter farce.
Driver also has responsebility to react if he hears that notes arent keeping up. Adrien said, we couldnt go any faster coz the co-pilot was reading as fast as he could. Same said many commentator drivers, Martin was belting out notes as fast as he could but Thierry was going faster. Many felt its kinda low to blame co-pilot alone, its a team work.
The thing is the new point system has made Sundays worth watching finally, because last years it's been pointless untill the power stage since everyone is just cruising within the speed limit to save tires. But actually winning should be valued more. If they wanna keep the supersunday system they have to at least score the points like they use to, 1st 25pts, 2nd 18pts etc so the win would be valued more and you can't make up finishing 4th or 5th to the same points or more as the winner with a good sunday. And points shouldn't lock after saturday. Would make it more interesting.
Great event. Glad to see it live on the stages. Great battle over the weekend. One thing that was wrong is - the point system - It just dont make any sence
In a strange way, I feel fortunate to be a brand new fan of rally right as this new points system drops in... it's all still SO new for me that I'd much rather FEEL the events than than think about them. So the discourse can go on without me for awhile and hopefully they'll have it sorted or gone by the time I need to care about that sort of thing, which given that even drivers are this vocal about their issues with it, should come sooner rather than later.
Also the reasons why Neuville and Evans aren’t champions (yet at least) are that Neuville crashes too often and Evans keeps usually finishing second or worse.
Not a fan of the points system. I understand why they did it, because Sundays were a bit boring prior to the power stage... but overall position should hold more weight in the championship points, super Sunday should be for bonus points. It would have the same effect of people pushing on Sunday.

I mean.. if you've been fast on friday and pull back on saturday and sunday, the point system will punish you. As simple as that, rules are the rules, if you complaim and dont know how they work, it will cost you. Sometimes i feel some drivers are willingly abiding with the prior rules and not with the ones at hand.
Wow indeed… thanks for tuning in as always guys! 🇭🇷
Watch out for our post-event videos, and let us know what you think on the current points system 🤔
Bring back the old system
Tell me the driver who finished third got the same points as the driver who finished second and scored one point in the power stage!

I agree with Ogier, Evans and Tanak
Even Tanak, who probably gained the most out of the new system, is critical. Says enough.
Obviously, when the top drivers comment on the new points scoring system FIA has is WRONG!
Really good to see the drivers criticising the points system. The FIA wanted to test it, they did, now get rid of it
Can't change the points allocation mid season

Abolish the new points system as soon as possible

Thanks for the fantastic entertainment DirtFish !!! 😊
