This was a great interview, I enjoyed hearing about Paul's experiences with Halloween and his fandom of the franchise. I feel like no matter what Paul wrote in his script it was going to be polarizing just because it's the ending to a branch of the Halloween timeline.
Paul’s perspective just makes me appreciate the movie MORE. There is some thing cool about the divisiveness of this movie. Regardless your opinion, you’re talking about it. wow what a great step for your channel to have a guest like this. great insight. this film will go down in history as a case study on franchise development and what can go wrong
Just want to say I loved this movie and all of the trilogy. I really appreciate how each film felt individual enough in theme and style and still created a fulfilling whole. I also just finished the Ends novelization yesterday and I loved how it added new scenes and backstory that actually felt organic to the story. Then it was kind of wild I didn't realize until right after I finished the book that Paul Brad Logan was one of the screenwriters.
On October 31, 2022 to rinse my brain of this so-called sequel ENDs I will be watching John carpenters Halloween - Halloween 2018 H40 - Halloween Kills 🎃🎃🎃

What a great interview. Love the silver shamrock on his bookcase! I thought it was a good movie, just not a great Halloween movie. I think you guys asked enough great questions that I can rewatch the movie ( for the 3rd time ) and finally begin to understand where they were trying to go as a Halloween movie. Thanks guys! Waiting for my book to arrive!

Thanks man! I'm confused as to whether you mean that I (Mike) WASN'T cordial or professional or that you are surprised that J was cordial and professional, lol.
@@WeWatchedAMovie haha, you both were lol, I just meant that I think Jay maybe has the more severe feelings about the movie that he had to sideline, out of respect for the guy and the interview 👍🎃
I think people sometimes ignore the end of the Laurie quote from Kills. The full quote is "The more he kills, the more he transcends into something impossible to defeat. Fear. People are afraid. That is the true curse of Michael". So In a literal sense they're not saying killing gives him power, it reads to me as them saying he becomes more of a legend in Haddonfield and that makes him feel powerful. The scene where he perks up after killing the cop I sorta treated as an adrenaline rush moreso than him literally gaining power.
Now having watched this I'm definitely gonna rewatch the movie, if for no other reason than to really capture the whole foreshadowing/interpretive dance thing between Allyson and Corey.. can't wait to get my hands on the novelization.. looking forward to a video on it.. congrats to you guys aswell, for being recognized for your hardwork and dedication to this channel.. ofcourse I only recently found this channel, but thoroughly enjoy it!! Loved this guys! Makes me happy seeing you guys getting the recognition you deserve more and more. And Paul Brad Logan seems such a nice, wholesome and talented man. What an interview 👏🏼🎃
One of the best things about Halloween ends is the amount of conversation it started. I enjoyed the movie so much. This has been the most fun I've had after watching a movie. I've been watching reviews for days and can't wait to talk to other people about it. The novelization sounds great.
I positively adore what Paul Brad Logan did with this story! I haven't been able to find a copy of the book (have to order it), but I sat in the theater with the full capability of filling in the blanks! Storytellers know storytellers. We can often intuit story details and, sometimes, the author's intent -- especially if our fellow storyteller is rich with empathy. 😉🖤I cannot wait to read his author's voice! What a humble, authentic soul! Thank you SO much for this interview, Mike J, and Mr. Logan! What an absolute pleasure. ❤
I got my copy! On a hunch, I called Barnes & Noble, and they just got three copies in. The clerk asked me if I wanted them to hold a copy for me, and I told her yes, that I'd be right there! I no shit was there in less than 10 minutes, and I jammed 'Hunter's Moon' twice, all the way into the parking lot! 😂I took the book, went to the car, and then sat and read 20 straight pages. The girl who rang me up slid the receipt into the book, and I was just curious as to where that makeshift bookmark landed. So when I opened it up and read the page, I began laughing my ass off! It's that marinara smeared milk glass! What were the fucking chances? 🤣 (And the marinara recipe that Paul Brad Logan describes is absolutely VILE! 🤢😅) 20 pages in, and I'm already thinking you're going to really appreciate and enjoy it! 😃
This was such a good interview Mike and jay I appreciate how you guys tried to make him feel very comfortable I hope you guys do a video about the book as well and explain the difference between the two
He seems like such a chill dood. I didn't realize he also did the novelization! Definitely wanna check it out now EDIT: Lmfao Jay's laugh when Paul asked Mike how he pronounces memoir. It was totally a "See, you idiot."

@@oldhollywoodfan8009 I’d say it’s pretty even. But the story is far more cohesive and…tbh the Corey stuff that’s in there is written really well. You actually sympathize with and feel sorry for him. I guess that was DGG’s goal with the movie only I don’t think he was able to accomplish that. He certainly didn’t make me feel bad for him. So yeah, it’s pretty even.

@@michaelfarrer3044 i just got to and finished all the parts you guys mentioned in the book, holy shit there needs to be an extended cut that has those scenes in, it would easily fix my lack of michael myers problem with the movie, and it would make ends so so much better
this is supposed to be the final film, at least with blumhouse, and to make it 2 hours and 10 mins or however long it needed to be would’ve made sense, it’s the final chapter, it can be long, i wish they would’ve went for it
Unless I missed it, I think you guys forgot to ask about the meaning behind the kiss on the lips from the Mom. Idk some questions he answered by saying "that's cool you look at it that way" or something in that context and never answered the question but either way he seems like a really cool dude and he's a big fan of the Halloween franchise I can't wait to read the novelization
Phenomenal interview & I love this guy! I cannot stand the amount of vitriol spewed toward the cast & writers etc. Scream 5’s message holds true. Ends is honestly my favorite of the trilogy. I feel a deeper love for the Shape & the lore & the franchise & this trilogy as a whole because of this film. It’s so 1980’s Carpenter mixed with David’s indie romance flair & psychological thriller & drama & Lynchian while still retaining that 1978 template
I was totally on board with a lot of the weirder aspects of Ends, in terms of Michael. The "recharge" moment reminded me a lot of strange stuff like wearing the bedsheet in the first film. To me part of his creepiness stems from him doing these weird inexplicable things
Just finished the book. I enjoyed it. Well done. Excited to see what else was shot for the movie that got cut. I completely forgot about the feathers death scene in the tv spots. Don’t want to spoil anything here. Definitely should read.
I agree this guy seems really nice very thankful for his opportunities and I did enjoy hearing him talk about his perspectives but I also agree with an earlier comment that you guys did not press him at ALL on many of your issues with the movie not that All the problems with the movie where his fault but maybe just ask him a question or two about all The problems we as fans saw and continue to talk about??
Guys, this book is AMAZING. It would be my favorite movie in the franchise... the backstory of Michael at smith's Grove, and how he escaped in kills was so damn cool. My God

dude said he put his name in a bowl from a lottery and got picked to write the halloween movies and my guy started laughing😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 i thought i was gonna be the only one lmao
Wow, great job with the interview guys! I just finished reading Halloween Ends novelization by Logan, so this was very interesting to hear and find out more about the film. I really liked it and i'm seriously thinking it could be my favorite of entire new trilogy, and Logan's novelization is right now along with one for first film my favorite Halloween novelization. Also, interesting what he mentioned at 17:10, about how Ends was never going to take place at same night as first two films. I heard for the longest time, and i actually told you about this on your Twitter post about deleted scenes from Ends yesterday, from script collectors and such how there is a draft of Ends out there which takes place at same time as 2018 film and Kills, but who knows, maybe somebody just made a mistake when reporting about it.
Here’s my take on it. And before I go any further let me say that I am a DIE HARD Halloween Fan. I liked the movie. Then I saw it a second time and LOVED it. Here’s why… It’s different and still stays within the mythology of “Purely and Simply Evil.” It’s a social commentary also which stems from the plot of “Kills.” It’s also very relevant because of COVID. We start to forget. We’re tired and worn down and just want to move on and COVID starts to fade away from our minds and it no longer feeds our fear. Michael is to Haddonfield what Pennywise was to Derry. Fear kept him alive. Michael is the embodiment of the fear in Haddonfield. Even while he was in the Sanitarium for 40 years, he was still in the town both literally and figuratively. Especially Laurie. But then he disappeared for 4 years. People started to forget and heal. Then the accident happened with Corey. Now the people of Haddonfield had a new focus for that fear and negativity. Michael lost his strength. No one believed in him anymore. But Corey finds him and he is able to cross that line and get revenge against the town that shunned him. Evil doesn’t die, it just transcends. Michael is a metaphor for evil. Believing in something is what gives it power. He believed in Michael and in some way became that evil in order to go after those people that have tormented him since the accident. He’s purely and simply evil and that evil can infect a town like in Kills or it can affect a single person. This still leaves the possibility of a return. People start obsessing over him again and he returns in one form or another. Every town has its secrets. When you open that door again Evil gets in. Like the last line of the movie. But that’s just me. Take it or leave it.
One more thing… The part where Corey attacks Michael in the sewer. Everyone was so upset how easily he was able to take the mask. He was driven by anger. Michael was still weak. But They both knew he needed that mask. Then people would see Michael and not Corey. You could say that Corey was a vessel for Michael but he was just a vessel for that evil. Michael was using Corey and eventually he was going to get it back.
WOW what a great video, great insight into the Halloween ends writing process and what they where trying to conveyed that a lot of "fans" seemed to have missed! Great Video from a great writer

I don’t think I’ve seen a movie like it come out in a very long time. I truly admire the balls of the move David, Danny and Paul made with this.
wow what a great step for your channel to have a guest like this. great insight. this film will go down in history as a case study on franchise development and what can go wrong
Oh man I want to read his book so bad!
What a great interview, thanks for the content guys! My book is on the way and I'm so excited about it!!
WWAM needs to get their hands on the 2020 Halloween Ends script.
Wowww how on earth did u awesome guys get the honor of hatching an interview with one of the writers to Halloween Ends and the writer who wrote the Halloween Ends novel?! Woww I am so tuned into this interview! You guys are so dope! Jamie Lee Curtis next, please!
I’m gonna go out on a limb n say that the novelization is going to get a nice ol’ spike in sales following this interview, this guy is awesome, it makes such a big difference when a creator is a true fan of the content they r working w.. great interview, great guest, great video per usual fella’s! Cheers 🍻 ✌🏼
Wow 😮what a cool guy -and especially for doing this. Great coup for you guys 👍
And cudos to Jay for being so cordial and professional ✌️🎃
This was phenomenal! And I can’t wait to read the book. Great interview guys, and thanks for stopping by, Paul!
Keep it coming!
(And the marinara recipe that Paul Brad Logan describes is absolutely VILE! 🤢😅)
20 pages in, and I'm already thinking you're going to really appreciate and enjoy it! 😃
This dude seems like a genuine sweetheart.
I have the Halloween kills book and really enjoyed reading it can't wait for the Halloween ends book to 🙂
Your going to love it a 1000 times more than the movie
This was such a good interview Mike and jay I appreciate how you guys tried to make him feel very comfortable I hope you guys do a video about the book as well and explain the difference between the two
He seems like such a chill dood. I didn't realize he also did the novelization! Definitely wanna check it out now
EDIT: Lmfao Jay's laugh when Paul asked Mike how he pronounces memoir. It was totally a "See, you idiot."
Very cool interview! At the end of the day, as a Halloween fan, we will never have the excitement we've had the past four years again. It has been wild and I've discovered so many cool people like you two and all the other RUclipsr Halloween crew. It's been emotional and crazy and thanks for the brilliant and hilarious videos. Bring on whatever comes next in Haddonfield although I'm looking forward to a break lol!
Hey Mike @ J .. thanks for having Mr. Logan on air !! Very nice to have someone that does have a lot of info, and can answer questions! Great for him to spend an hour of his time.. Luv you WWAM fam 👍🎃🔥 Take care luv Linda ♥️🇨🇦x
24:48 I feel that, I grew up in Pennsylvania as a skater kid and I got bullied pretty much everyday.
Great interview, thanks a lot guys!
Things like this make appreciate and love this movie even more
Easily my FAVORITE interview you guys have done by far! Paul seems incredibly sweet, and the three of you just warmed my heart and got my day off to a great start. Thanks so much, guys!!!
I told my 77 year old mom in the lobby of the theater after the movie that is freaking ruled. Thanks Paul for all your hard work!
this was fucking awesome. could listen to you guys talk halloween all day. Wish you could get an interview with DDG and pick his brain a bit. Loved this. Also really dug ENDS. I am a Defender of the film
I'm currently reading the book and so far I really love it. I hope it goes deeper into the movie and gives us a little more insight. Already we got a great bridge for what happened at the end of Kills to get us to Ends. Can't wait to finish it.
It goes WAY deeper and is so much better than the movie.
@@JoKiR90 Is the novelization more about Laurie and Michael? Or is it still about Cory?
@@oldhollywoodfan8009 I’d say it’s pretty even. But the story is far more cohesive and…tbh the Corey stuff that’s in there is written really well. You actually sympathize with and feel sorry for him. I guess that was DGG’s goal with the movie only I don’t think he was able to accomplish that. He certainly didn’t make me feel bad for him. So yeah, it’s pretty even.
Yo this is fucking awesome! WWAM has come so far! All your interviews with writers, directors and producers over the past few years are such a treat! Seeing you guys just show your love for the horror genre is so dope man, forever grateful for you guys Mike and J. Thank you for everything you do and just being overall great people!
Thank you so much Keran!
Dudes I just finished his novelization! You guys gotta read it! I really enjoyed the movie as is but if that’s what they were filming and it got trimmed it would have easily been the best! It’s fantastic. It fills in everything. I really loved it. Plus a bunch of Michael! 😂🎃
PS: Awesome interview guys!
RIGHT...ESPECIALLY THE MOMENT WHEN HE MEETS THE LITTLE GIRL...
I WISH THAT WOULD'VE BEEN IN THE MOVIE
@@dolphboothe5510 that was good! And the couple at the meat packing plant! Chase scene was fantastic!
@@michaelfarrer3044 i just got to and finished all the parts you guys mentioned in the book, holy shit there needs to be an extended cut that has those scenes in, it would easily fix my lack of michael myers problem with the movie, and it would make ends so so much better
this is supposed to be the final film, at least with blumhouse, and to make it 2 hours and 10 mins or however long it needed to be would’ve made sense, it’s the final chapter, it can be long, i wish they would’ve went for it
@@Iamthedoctor10 I agree completely! I think if they would have done it HEnds would be loved by a lot more people.
Unless I missed it, I think you guys forgot to ask about the meaning behind the kiss on the lips from the Mom. I listened to the whole thing in anticipation of that because you mentioned asking him about it in the HENDS commentary, if anyone could explain that I’d be very grateful. lol
Anyways! Great video, as always!
Huge thanks to Paul for giving us his time!❤
We did not BUT I have a healthy belief its in the book! More to come
This man is so awesome. Say watever you want about the movie, but you can't deny that he put all his efforts into making a cool and fresh new story for this franchise, and he delivered that. Mike and J are also great interviewers, you guys make me laugh and learn more and more things about my favorite movies since 2017, and that's just so awesome. Happy Halloween everyone, and remember: Halloween never ends 🎃 🎃🎃
Great guy and interview! Y’all were awesome!
Amazing show!!! Gonna grab two copies of the book because I will probably wear one of them out… great conversation guys!!! Thank you!!!
Awesome! Can't wait to listen!
Congrats guys. It's a proud day for WWAM. He was such a chill guy and is just handling the crazy reactions like a champ. His insights do shed light on some parts of the film but knowing that the film is only half of what the book is, makes me more excited to ready the book. Great interview guys.
I finally got around to watching this. This was a great interview. So great I bought the novelization. Thanks guys!
What a wonderful interview! Such good information and good vibes. How cool 😎 you guys do the best interviews, it seems so natural. Glad to see the channel continue to expand and reach more and more people. 🙌
This is awesome that he came on the show for this interview.
What a great interview! You guys did great! And Paul is awesome for making time to do this! Loved hearing some of his thoughts!!
I loved this interview! It was so dope 2 c u guys try n be professional n him just relax n enjoy y'all's conversation. U could tell how refreshing it was 4 him 2 have conversation with ppl that enjoy the same things he does. He genuinely enjoyed talking 2 y'all n answering questions. It was really dope 2 c. He totally meant the new best friends comment at the end. That was a perfect example of how we feel when we watch the channel. It's so dope 2 have a place 2 just hang out n have conversations about the shit we're into. Thanks guys!
Fantastic interview guys, thanks for this. ♥ Also, I love Halloween Ends!!
This was PERFECT! I absolutely loved your questions and Paul Brad answered them perfectly. You can tell he is a fan and that he had cool ideas and wanted to create ambiguity and allow people to make their own story and draw their own conclusion. Wonderful!❤
Idk some questions he answered by saying "that's cool you look at it that way" or something in that context and never answered the question but either way he seems like a really cool dude and he's a big fan of the Halloween franchise I can't wait to read the novelization
Great job guys!
He just sold the book like crazy, definitely picking it up now! Great video everyone.
Yeah guys definitely would have been upset if I went to theaters to see this on October 31 Halloween ENDs 😢
Holy shit, Loomis is included in the book, too? I have to get this.
Great interview, guys! Very insightful. Really nice guy. I personally loved this movie and appreciated what they did with this one.
Well he did sell the fck out of that novel, ordered myself a Dutch copy right after I ended the video, arriving on Tuesday! Great interview fellas
I was totally on board with a lot of the weirder aspects of Ends, in terms of Michael. The "recharge" moment reminded me a lot of strange stuff like wearing the bedsheet in the first film. To me part of his creepiness stems from him doing these weird inexplicable things
you guys did GREAT at interviewing him. and he seems like a wonderful human being....
Just finished the book. I enjoyed it. Well done. Excited to see what else was shot for the movie that got cut. I completely forgot about the feathers death scene in the tv spots. Don’t want to spoil anything here. Definitely should read.
Glad to see you guys getting these great interviews!
Thanks for the interview. Excited to fully listen to it.
I love you guys so much! It's so great to see these amazing interviews come out of your channel
What a great interview guys wow! I actually have a change of heart of Ends now... Thanks
The discussion on how to pronounce “memoir” had me dying.
What an awesome, wholesome and talented man. This was great you guys rock! 🎃🎃🔪
Great video as per, so glad to have came across your channel a month or so ago ❤️ you guys deserve the world
Guys, this book is AMAZING. It would be my favorite movie in the franchise... the backstory of Michael at smith's Grove, and how he escaped in kills was so damn cool. My God
Loved Halloween Ends and I just bought your book. I look forward to your future projects. Congrats!
You guys are great! Looking forward to the book. He seems like such a nice guy.
I totally second what Katie said...he is so adorable. What a great enjoyable interview. I love seeing the mutual respect between all of you. Now I must get the book. Great job guys.
What a pleasant, awesome guy. I am 100% buying this book to see the film and story through his eyes and see how it makes me like the film even more. Great interview guys.
I love how you hear the beer can pops every so often hahahahaha
dude said he put his name in a bowl from a lottery and got picked to write the halloween movies and my guy started laughing😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 i thought i was gonna be the only one lmao
This dude can seriously write some movie adaptation novels. Loved 2018's novel
This is actually his first one! But so far its dope af too!
HOLY NUT SANDWICH 🥪 😳 You guys rock!!! WWAM WORLD WIDE BABY!!! 🌎
I just had the best time watching this.
I heard for the longest time, and i actually told you about this on your Twitter post about deleted scenes from Ends yesterday, from script collectors and such how there is a draft of Ends out there which takes place at same time as 2018 film and Kills, but who knows, maybe somebody just made a mistake when reporting about it.
that was always said to be the plan, david gordon green has said so a few times
Here’s my take on it. And before I go any further let me say that I am a DIE HARD Halloween Fan. I liked the movie. Then I saw it a second time and LOVED it. Here’s why…
It’s different and still stays within the mythology of “Purely and Simply Evil.” It’s a social commentary also which stems from the plot of “Kills.” It’s also very relevant because of COVID.
One more thing…
The part where Corey attacks Michael in the sewer.
Weird how my first impression of him was Harmony Korine in my head and the he mentioned him.
Loved this interview and Paul..he seems like a cool down to earth dude :)
Excited to finish my novelization of this trilogy. Thank you Mike for supporting B&N. Thanks for this video. Blessings.
WOW what a great video, great insight into the Halloween ends writing process and what they where trying to conveyed that a lot of "fans" seemed to have missed! Great Video from a great writer
not me singing the intro like it’s an actual song 😂
Great interview guys! I for one love the new trilogy, thanks DGG and co for giving a great continuation of Carpenters vision and a wicked Myers. It'll be tough without waiting for a Halloween film to come to theaters. I listen to The Junk Yard on a daily basis.
Fantastic interview. Thanks guys!
Going to get the novelizations of the trilogy because of this interview. Great stuff
