I just can’t get behind it. I can’t support EA anymore as a company. There’s nothing they could do for me to have me go back to playing like I used to. There’s just too much greed happening.
If they're really making us pay for funerals and the like I stg..... But I agree with you in most points. These EPs themed around basic stuff like Love and then Death really just feel like they're stretching trying to find ways to suck our wallets. I do hope it's an EP that's similar to growing together and that they bring back features from other games that used to be on DLCs, not features that used to be base game. At worst, I hope it's like lovestruck, in which I have absolutely no desire to buy it at all. I do hope the updates are refreshes on older packs, they began doing that with spa day and then never again despite the fact most packs need one.
I can get behind a spooky Death Pack as an EP. I'd like funerals, graveyard lots, zombies, elder content, a Grim Reaper career, a fortune-telling career, tarot card reading, a ghost overhaul, visiting the afterlife, having babies with the Grim Reaper, curses, and a fog system. Will we get these? At best, I'll assume we'll get 20% of these, and it'll be a coin-toss as to whether they were even done well. I have no faith in The Sims 4.
I believe that the reveal of project rene happened to stop the growing amount of people who alway responded whit "i would rather have sims 5" or "paralives is better" or similar comments on social media back then. And now it has been some time and they may not have that much more exciting news to reveal. As they said it is the very early state off development and there seems to have been problems among the responsible developers. I doubt they have much to say. With the state of sim 4 and all the issues I believe they're reluctant to commit to future promises that the project rene may not be able to fulfill therefore they are silence.
They’ve never released packs this close to another (from what I can remember) and somehow they thought it was a smart idea to announce another when love struck is still broken and new??? I feel like genuinely if they mess up and cheap us out again, this will genuinely be simmers last chance for them. It’s fallen so much over the years and after lovestruck we saw the community genuinely fall apart. This pack needs to somehow go beyond our expectations and be amazing for this game to stay afloat, especially with inZOI so close to coming out. People are ready to move on, and if they don’t treat this pack like it, it will come back to bite them. This pack already genuinely should’ve been a game pack, I don’t even know how you manage to stretch that into an expansion, so the odds are unlikely. Personally though, I know that I’m just done feeling laughed at and being called stupid by a company, and this will personally probably be my last chance on them.
Also, I wish, but it wont be the last chance. Not wanting to be offensive, but I perceive the average simmer as a fairly dumb person. They will buy all the craps.
I’m sticking with Sims 3 to be honest. The hype never lives up to what comes. They should focus on Game Packs, it’s better price point for what we get. There’s four types of DLC, why only focus on the most expensive and least? 🤔🤷🏼♂️
They focus on the most expensive type of pack because its more expensive. The most recent expansions have all been the size of game packs but they toss in a poorly designed new world and put a new paint job on a system that already exists so ppl think its worth it. Why would a company as scummy as EA want to focus on making products worth their customers money? They also focus on the kits cause youre more likely to buy something extra if its not much money. Whats an extra $5 when youre already spending $40?

I understand why you say that, but tbh, at this present moment I would NEVER consider spending even 1 single simoleon on Sims 5, after the catastrophy that was Sims 4. I mean, I spent about $600-700, easily. Def not $1k, as I don't have any pack plus there's certain ones that I would NEVER pay for, no matter what, I wouldn't even download them in my hand for free (See: Pet's Stuff, or w/e it's called). I want them to finish Sims 4 as much as possible, and I'm done w/the franchise unless something incredible happens, which I doubt. I can't imagine spending another several hundred.

I def hear you on the playing video games thing, just as a health aspect and wanting to experience the world more, as opposed to getting trapped in a virtual world that doesn't actually matter, in the end. For me, I love using Sims as a means of Storytelling & world building and I do love the aesthetic a lot (w/ proper lighting, of course, lol). I pretty much want a graveyard lot type, but the rest personally isn’t something I want a WHOLE expansion pack for. I used to be with the mindset of holding off judgment until I see the trailer/gameplay but after this many let downs with EP's I will judge it on the title alone lol. I love the theme of Life and Death but let's be real, it will yet again feel like an over priced game pack
I'm not so surprised they have decided to keep mum on their Sims 5 game in the works. Some people in our Sims community have more than showed they aren't mature enough to really handle the up-and-down process that comes with the creative process. Look at how some people (not all) have sunken so low to even threaten our beloved content creators. Any creative person out here in their right mind (whatever their artistic modality) would shut down communication to some degree, if only to protect the energy around the project alone. That's my practical guess on what could be a factor. EA has been out of pocket for a while, but I was honestly disappointed by some of my fellow game players.
Yeah it’s really disappointing asf all the wrongdoings of a greedy corporation and the devs get threats and uproar when they Atleast try but honestly I really hope they have actually been putting lots of effort into this pack but at the end of the day it’s EA I can’t wait to see what is in store though
It is hardly creative to keep doing the same idea over and over again. This is their fifth attempt at multiplayer. Multiplayer did give them spectacular flops like Sims Online 20 million dollar failure and Sims Social was shut down for not having enough players. Sims used to be about expanding ideas that worked whereas modern Sims is all about features that don’t work. Multiplayer is the creator of The Sims Will Wright’s second hand idea. Doesn’t look like the learnt their lesson with Simcity

They’re only finally acting due to competition in their life sim genre. Yes, glad they’re finally doing the bare minimum of fixing paid for content that should already work or been resolved prior to launch or maybe not within the game’s 10 year lifecycle. Mediocrity and excusing it and praising them for doing the expected is part of the issue that has brought us here. Stop celebrating and begging for crumbs

If anything those modders were just restoring cool stuff from past Sims games in there own way and EA finally tried their own version for Sims 4. Super late in the game. Sims 3 especially had a pretty well done real estate system. I wouldn’t say it was a ripoff except of itself not the modders. Just modders beat them to the punch with better systems.

ppl complaining bout the price just pirate it. When you start pirating the sims 4 dlc you get excited over even the little things CUZ YOU GET IT FOR FREE. Anadius is a huge simmer he has a whole entire encrypted google folder with all the dlc for both the sims 3 and 4.
I honestly think it's actually TOO long. Hot take, I know, but it's just coding 101. Whenever you change the code, you run the risk of introducing new bugs. So making so many changes at once makes it more difficult to test for bugs. When you fix a bug, and then don't impliment it before fixing another bug, you have no way of knowing if the two bug fixes might cancel each other out, or even create a new bug. What they need to do is release more frequent, smaller updates through the EA app, and then when they have a large enough amount of bugs fixed, they can start working on getting those updates through to consoles. I know it stinks that console players have to wait longer, but let's make sure stuff works first, before pushing it out to players who can't even rely on mods to fix their game.
Uhm… I’m just going to simply have 10 add ons to my game. We have to pay for love ? Which should’ve been beyond in depth in the game already with so much to do and so many interactions. Now you want us to pay for death ? What if there isn’t funerals and wakes and everything we can get in a mod and they give us some occult gameplay with who knows what. It’s simply this should be a free add on we get charged all this money. How about we go back and update the basegame add more stuff FOR FREE enhance the game listen to the community. People will forever want more but it’s baby steps that come with the process….
