    Frehley's Comet was one of the best hard rock albums ever made! KISS without him never was the same!

    I was there- unforgettable energy in the crowd that night- we had waited forever to hear our Space Aces inimitable tone and magic- he was ON FIRE and the sound was so so good - way clearer and better than KISS live. We were all so proud of him!!!

    I was at this show. I was 16 years old and remember this night very well. The crowd was so alive & people were excited - It was his first major show in NYC since he left KISS, minus one or two smaller club shows. It was everything I was wanting out of him at the time.

      @@jefflanham1080 Yes. White Lion with Vito opened. Y & T was the middle band. The entire show was perfect top to bottom.

      @Coogan I still think ACE was INCREDIBLE, seeing him for the first time still one of my favorite shows ever!! Y&T WAS FANTASTIC as always…..Sacramento show…..Faster Pussycat opening!! That’s one of 4-5 shows I wish I could relive over and over……TESLA had just started to hit ( Sacramento band of course)….. I remember Jeff Keith getting recognized right near us and we were with my best friends older sister and her friend, who were gorgeous lol.

    I was 7th row center at this show thanks to my girlfriend who went out of her way to get us tickets! I will always be thankful to her for doing that! What a great show it was too! And I got a pick from Ace that night as well. I still have it!

    At this time, 1987 - 1989, Frehley's Comet/The Ace Frehley Band, was WAY better & WAY more interesting than KISS. Ace is on fire here & plays phenomenal. It's such a shame he got sloppy & lost his swagger/let go of his ability as the 1980's ended. Ace's "star" & ability to play with swagger faded from 1990 onwards.
    I'm sorry to say it: It's just not the same anymore.

    • @aflsteve9139
      @aflsteve9139 6 лет назад +2

      Mr. Blackwell, totally agree with your comments about Ace, but for the sake of the argument, Kiss in that period were more interesting than they'd been in nearly a decade. From the back half of the Crazy Nights tour they finally seemed to figure out that the fans wanted to hear the older stuff, not 80 minute sets full of second rate solos and mostly songs from their 80's albums.

      I think you need to be fairly accomplished guitarist to understand what we are saying about Ace letting his talent slip away right about the time he got with kiss again. He was my hero since I was a kid and I fought and argued for him when he came back out in 87 but by that time everybody listen to Steve Vai and that type of technical guitarists. Nevertheless he had a very unique and effortless style playing live in the mid - late 70s but drugs,alcohol and pure laziness robbed him of that and he was just going through the motions most of the reunion tour. Now its just sad...but he is and will always be my reason for playing guitar.
