Thank you guys. You guys help small retail traders massively. Please don't ever stop these educational videos, blogs and tweets. Thank you Steve & SMB.
This is really funny actually... I had Microsoft at $165 strike, Tesla at $505 strike, and Apple at $310 strike - I sold them all early for either minimum gains (after they continued to fall) or for big losses. Tesla I lost $250 on the option. Then I bought TSM at $5.50 strike and sold that for a $400 loss... These were all 1/17 expiration that I bought on Monday. I ended up losing over $600 and it was my first down week in 2 months. Guess what? Every single option mentioned landed above the strikes at expiration today. I would have made over $2000 if I held them. I would have made at least $500-1000 if I didn't sell on their down trends. So what should have been my best week to date was my worst. I know I'm gambling too much with such shallow strike prices and going weekly, but if I had understood the logic between those push and pulls I probably could have grown a pair and trusted myself. Either way I'm still up and will sign up for your classes. Thanks again!
I don't trade stocks, but futures markets and I trade market manipulation all the time, but not based on the news! My trading is based upon volume, volatility and price action at specific supply and demand areas, which are in fact the areas of manipulation and I see it in all time frames you can imagine! News is unreliable if you don't know how to play the news! What I do is typically counter intuitive! Pullback turning points are normally at previous manipulation areas! These are my "Little Signposts"! Great video!
I remember in 2019, there was some bad news about ZS stock saying it’s security is bad. The stock kept falling from about $87 to 40s. Look today the stock is above $120. May be they wanted to take the stock down for a long ride. Thank you for the education.
I was long from the week before on a swing trade that started back in the 350 area. I had no idea that the news was fake, but I did buy puts when I saw it to hedge against a retest of the 472 area. I also got short at 511 on the failed break out attempt around 514 and ride the fade back to around 505. I am long tsla and am an intermediate trader. I didn't have a well thought out action plan , but that's how I felt w Friday. Thank you for the video. I really enjoy learning from smb and the great traders over there.
some days there is no clear plan and it is better to just stay away. If that story hadn't moved the stock so much early in the day I probably would have not given it as much attention
Brilliant of Steve to connect the options strike price as a magnet! Yes, be careful of the "Fake News". Always look at volume, above/below vwap, price support/resistance to line up with the headline. Trade accordingly :)
Tsla traded sideways for like 5 yrs & then did some catching up more recently. After watching most of Steven Mark Ryan’s Yt videos and doing a lil homework I believe Tsla is the best long term (10+ yrs), buy and hold investment on the stock market
I came across a fake news catalyst on IMBI yesterday in my opinion. I saw in premarket it had a big push up and low and behold it was because Shaq came put with a new line of invicta watches lol? Dont get me wrong I like him but he s a retired basketball player and even though he has a "brand" I didn't believe it was sufficient enough news to justify the surge. Crappy thing is I missed my opportunity to short under vwap around 945 bc I was stuck in a meeting at work. I did capitalize on CETX Wednesday though using a similar setup shorting under vwap. Working on my edge and consistency! Thanks SMB!
I got pumped up and whipped out my credit card and bought the DNA training package the other night! Im pretty fired up about this!! 🔥 I hope I will be able to take this oppotunity all the way! I started with DNA because there are some modules in that program that I still need to prepare me for that next step foward, if I get there.
I know for a fact what does not work in this environment. A RSI divergence scalp on the 1 minute as long as it's lined up with the 5 minute RSI and 5 minute MACD. I'm a retail guy. 3 years trading. That set up was a monster. 50%++ in naked options on any scalp I took on the second move of the 5 minute chart, or the first set up I mentioned above at market open. The problem is it only works in a decent trend. Like AAPL, ROKU, AMD, DIS, NFLX, BABA, SBUX or TSLA. So I haven't traded anything in a few days. I guess I got more study to do. Try to find something that sticks out besides symmetrical triangles HAHA!
Just to add I did notice that short interest ratio on TSLA with the volume. I was just confused on what to do about it. But you definitely helped me on my path to figure it out. Thanks.
Wow. I called out the short entry as it opened up on that day. I was just recording a video for myself about the previous day's action when it opened and it kind of annoyed me, but I noticed the triple convergence of previous day's high, aftermarket close, and premarket open, combined with lots of bear wicks and coming down off that zone. I didn't even have the previous day's high drawn, so I didn't even notice how cleanly it rejected. I wasn't trading nor did I intend to, but I just call stuff when I see it. I didn't even know about the news, or fake news as it were. Although that could explain the dump during premarket :P For me premarket was just a way to draw top/bottom lines :P That's crazy how the price magneted right to that option strike price and got boxed in by the most popular strikes. I may have called the short but you called the entire day!!
Hey, love this video, really highlighted an issue where many novice traders get drawn into. I have a suggestion for a future video from you guy, can you make a video on how to conduct or the way in which you guys carry out research (methodology) into different sectors, which then then help with trading stock specific ideas? Once again thanks for the videos you put out there!
Often I have seen when XYZ broker puts out a price target that is above the current price the stock will go down. The same for when they issue a price below the current it tends to go up.
Great video, thanks and please show us ways to benefit when we perceive a pump and dump in an asset, how can we spot and how shall we trade or stay out in such a situation.

Would a good example be Bloomberg being negative about Tesla. Or Tesla's catching fire and or autopilot crashes most likely at fault of the driver but the media questions the safety of autopilot or FSD? Causing market speculation and the share price to fall? 🤔. Edit: I published this comment before watching the video, lol.
Can someone explain how you lose money, when the price rises after shorting it? Edit: Watching this video, Now when I see the news and see alot of negative news on Shares for example the crypto currency xrp lawsuit, dropped the price down to 30 cents, and now its gone up 20%. Im starting to understand how it works. thanks for the video

Great channel. I watch all the time. I got a question for you. I’m following this stock that has high daily volume but the stock only moves by one or two pennies all day long . If you look at the chart it bounces up and down until almost closing. I can see that there’s a huge sell order just above where it bounces to but never gets there. I can tell that someone is day trading all day taking profits from this bounce. How are they doing this ?
How do you break a hedge fund knowing that these activities are happening in manipulating the share price using news outlets and social media spreading inaccurate information intentionally?? That’s what needs to happen.
Boeing has been a great short. People keep hoping all the bad news is out, then more comes. We see this any time there is a corporate cover-up and an economy that, at all stages, is complicit. They're shocked when the next news comes out. Of course, it is a swing trade. They're far too important to the military-industrial complex to ever be a long-term short. Netflix is better for that.
