Lloyd Austin Meets National Guard Troops: 'Defense Department Is Behind You'

- New Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin met Friday afternoon with the National Guard troops who have been providing security at the U.S Capitol since the violent Jan. 6 insurrection when rioters loyal to former President Donald Trump stormed the building.
Austin thanked the troops for their service, professionalism and commitment and told them their country is grateful for their efforts.
Austin told them "the Department of Defense is behind you," and repeatedly asked different groups of guardsmen if they are being provided everything they need.
"We want to make sure you got what you need and we're taking care of our troops. I really care about that. I know you know that," he said.
Approximately 7,000 National Guard members from throughout the country are stationed in Washington around the Capitol. That number is expected to fall to 5,000 by the end of February.
Austin urged the troops to "stay focused," adding, "we got you out here for a reason, and I don't want to take anything for granted."

He can relate and understand the troops, because he was one of the troops too in a great military career. There were only a few people that actually broke in and then there were a bunch that went in after the doors/windows were already compromised; and all they did was go in and hang out taking selfies. Never in history have they put up 9 foot steel fences with 25,000+ troops to "defend" the capitol; that's more troops than there were in Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria combined. There was no insurrection. Don't listen to the MSM claiming there was. Think for yourself; use logic. Watch alternative news sources.

We saw President Biden at Walter Reed, We have our Secretary of Defense visiting our troops at the Capitol, and earlier when First Lady heard about them being sent to the garage to rest /sleep there she went out and check on them with basket of cookies ( like mom and grandma will do). does anyone know if they were vetted and separated as democrats?I was in the military twice but what I saw in all these protest videos was a group mixed in with protesters who caused much of the damage. There were 6-7 bus loads of people in black with caps on backwards and helmets in hands. The FBI is really lost their reputation the past several years resulting from some bad apples in the mix. I hope they did not vet based on party.
