Fun fact: As per the statistics Huawei was set to be the biggest smartphone company ahead of Samsung within a year which never happened because of the ban, meaning Samsung would have been 2nd and Apple would have been 3rd.
Nah I live in China and Huawei uses way worse chip than every other Chinese phone manufectures in their lower end phones, literally scamming grandpas and Huawei fanboys. And their design is just wild. Wildly ugly. I mean, their flagship P60 series is ok but what the hell is wrong with the rest, if only you can visit a store of theirs you'll know. I'd bet my chance on BBK or Xiaomi becoming the largest phone company than Huawei out of pure spite.
Also the RUclipsr somehow forgot to mention that Huawei got banned because they did biz with Syria and Iran WHILE the US already made it clear that it will ban any company that sold products to the said countries.

Imo, the ban backfired, because Huawei is still the top competitor, just not in the US... If you look at China, Huawei and Honor hold something like 30%+ of the market, and China is now heavily investing in chips too, which I don't think would've been as much of a priority if it weren't for the ban

I had a huawei phone and got an iphone because it was complete crap. It did the job of calling, but anything else was complete crap to use.
They are like tiktok case in us, and huawei is making its eco system, they are making a slow comback, and I am writing this comment from huawei phone. They made emulators for huawei which are up for like a long time and google doesn't care. So in my opinion either huawei becomes new, better apple, or they get google and become better samsung

Their phones, the ones that actually were really good never were cheap. Like the Mate 20 Pro, the best phone of 2018 was 1 grand.
it's because the government gets a cut from what apple and Samsung does because of regional distribution but they ain't get no money for foreigners ( which I believe is part of the ban or atleast one of the reasons)
