The text for the video was definitely prepared by chatgpt lol. When describing Solus, it said that the distro features LATEST kde plasma version 5.22, but it came out on 8 Jun 2021, not long before chatgpt's knowledge cutoff.
Kubuntu surprised me positively, it's really a great distro and in some moments even better than KDE Neon. But openSUSE leap is still my personal choice.
kubuntu is sit when we need to upgrade lts most feature will break . fedora is great it will have latest kernal and kde without much issue even if there it will be fixed sooner than later
I have been using KDE neon on my 12-year-old laptop for ages. Unlike Kubuntu and most other KDE distros, KDE neon doesn't slow it down at all. However, I am considering switching to Fedora KDE since KDE neon and WINE are not on good terms anymore due to dependency issues, and I need WINE for my workflows. I hope Fedora KDE won't bully my poor laptop.
@@plutorocks1 I've had this happen to me also, (Nvidia drivers) enter /etc/sddm.conf with nano or something and change DisplayServer=wayland to DisplayServer=x11. KDE doesn't work well with Wayland yet, no idea why they push it so hard for the Fedora spin. Other than that issue, Fedora KDE has been great for me
Fedora workstation is pretty good. Gnome doesn't go for total customization. They are trying to create a 'default' type of OS. Makes it easier to support in mass deployments. Limited customization but still very productive. KDE plasma definitely likes to allow all the bells and whistles. Very nice. If they provided a way for enterprises to limit changes it may be a very strong productivity desktop for enterprises. However limiting ability to make changes may go against KDE's goal.
I use Feren OS on my laptop. It’s a really nice looking customized KDE distro. It does have a small development team and the major release has been pushed back since July 2023, but it is nice and stable.
I personally use KDE Neon because I can install flatpak or snap in the discovery store easily versus if you use kubuntu you are only able to use snaps not flatpaks.
Interesting, that top of "bleeding edge" distros are Gnome oriented (Ubuntu, Pop-OS), maybe Mint is on Cinnamon. I liked a KDE Neon as a pure KDE Plasma experience!!! If KDE is preferred -- then Neon!
Yep, Manjaro just breaks when you install anything from the AUR, which is one of the best features of Arch based distros. I know EndeavourOS works fine with AUR.
The more I see those things the better it's clear that XFCE4 should simply have in its compositor some windows animations and dissolvences effects to be just the best. Even avoiding things like Compiz or Compton because of best integration matter. Unfortunately, the XFCE team is the less reactive ever, updates comes but slowly and rarely and that will take very soon to bring KDE team on first place, winning easily.
9:33 "rarely breaks" - literally broke after a fresh install, twice in a row on different machines... I would never suggest MX not even to my sworn enemy
The problem with KDE is that I've bugs even on LTS releases. And as it updates really fast, you'll be always in the line of breaking the system or losing nice new features.
Sure, I think Arch is tough to beat, also Fedora with COPR and some knowledge. After that I'd vote for Debian - especially for a server you could set to auto update and just leave it alone.

Oh and also if you are able, increasing the frame rate to 60fps would be AMAZING and make the animations look really nice… You could even update your old videos if you still have the recordings and they weren’t recorded @ 30fps, just an idea! 🤞🏻🥹

*disappointed sigh*
disliked video for having the annoying text, like bro use cc dang. That's the purpose of cc.
I am surprised that ARCH KDE, Debian KDE and Garuda is not mentioned in the list as these three are also rock stable and good choose for anyone.
Agreed. Im currently using Debian 11 KDE and it is the best OS I have ever used.

There is actually something like Opensuse Argon. It's Opensuse leap but with the newest KDE desktop!

Give bottles a try. Once you set it up, you'll never have issues with dependencies... (in theory)
Fedora w KDE is horrendous. I tried to logout my screen and it immediately turned blank. Intel drivers btw

1:14 - Kubuntu comes with Thunderbird and not with KMAIL! This is not true at all!
Ubuntu LTS + Plasma LTS = Tuxedo OS
Perfect 👌🏻
I'm in kubuntu team...😎
Love the Idea of 9 best distros with KDE Plasma
Can you do the same for Gnome 😊
You would need to find a good distro with GNOME, given they all use the GNOME desktop that alone would disqualify them from being any good 😂

Just installed EndeavourOS with Plasma yesterday, so far so good!

8:58 the subtitles seems to be overlapped. Great video overall!
SpiralLinux KDE is a very nice tweaked Debian KDE release or use Arco Linux KDE for an Arch based KDE
The most supreme of these imo is Vanilla arch with plasma (iykyk). Can't believe its not mentioned in the video.

Looks like they are moving slowly to Wayland, maybe with this change, they allows more eye candies
Thats the idea and vision of xfce and people loves it that way.
If you like effects just go with plasma, gnome, cinnamon or mate.

It sounds like an artificial voice to me unfortunately
I use Mageia 9 Linux beta 2 and it workd greate eve as a beta!! Soon to be released!
Greetings Linux Scoop. Could you please make a video showing how to customize KDE plasma to look like Deepin?
Wtf “the latest plasma 5.22” this video is silly
In my experience, I prefer Kubuntu, it seems to me better optimized and the most stable.
MX Linux and EndeavourOS are the best Linux distributions in the world.
If a distro includes snaps out of the box, I won't bother when there are better options.
REQUEST: can you customize mint xfce look like xerolinux
Kde 5.27 has big issue on blur effect. 😢

if there is bug on lts like they had in 5.25 the we will be done
