God Jah bliss the Reggae greats and mr Gregory Isaac's will aways be one off them. In 70ts we got a lot come in on Vincent and Island. But there was a man pushing it and playing it on B.B.C. radio, that's the D.J. John peel show, the man who did hes bit to put Reggae out there .
Yes I ✌️ John Peel and Black Rodigan gave the platform when no others would allow reggae space to be heard
Hot stepper, cool ruler are my favorites
I seen Gregory Isaacs in concert in the '90s. He was as cool as his "Cool Ruler" name. "Objection Overruled" is one of my all-time favorites from him. R.I.P Mr. Isaacs...
Yes mon
I bought my first G. Isaacs cassette Night Nurse in the 80s and was blown away completely by his unique voice and fine songwriting. RIP Cool Ruler.!!!
Yes I ✌️
Thanks for this coverage. I am a huge Gregory fan..always loved and had a soft spot for him. Loved his style and his ""OOOH AAHH" . Such a pity he got caught up in some bad things, but I loved him same way. 🙏⚘💋

My favorite roots reggae singer. Was lucky enough to see him here in NYC in a sSummerstage concert in Central Park with John Holt and Barrington Levy. Gregory was a little past his prime buy still wonderful. I have all his albums up until 1986.
Jah Willie you've been blessed to witness so many of the greats in action. Big up ✌️
@@ReggaeAppreciationSociety Truth! I feel blessed to have seen so many wonderful JA musicians. I am constantly in awe of the extraordinary level of talent this small country has produced. I'm in the process of writing part 1 of a survey of rock steady, a genre I love so much.
The Mighty MacGregor !!!
First hit I remember hearing by Gregory was Red Rose for Gregory. It's a killer album!

@@ReggaeAppreciationSociety It was awesome, to see him live. I knew each noise he was going make and when, the 'hmmms' etc. Gregory was my 1st living legend and still legend
@@watchit16 Man, Permanent Lover's really something. The Bass and Horn section grooves are really top top Class....

I some severally in the 80’s into the 90’s . He was the real cool ruler . England was were I think he was mostly idolised even though he was global. Legendary
Yes I. England was his second home
@@ReggaeAppreciationSociety you know it 👌🏿💯
im watching all of these, can you please do Chalice
💯❤️🙏⚘️x
The cool ruler was a great man
Once again, very good coverage of a Reggae Icon. The only correction I think, would be the amount of songs. You said he made over 500 albums but I think it's more like 500 singles.
It's actually 500 albums. Gregory was a machine like Dennis Brown
Okay Bless
I also read Mills and Boon and Barbara Cartland books, what Gregory we have something in common. I love Gregory, his music is relevant, and will be around forever. Rip Gregory.
Yes I ✌️
4:02 errol Dunkley made the original song of movie star !! Buju sampled it ! Both legendary songs
