- Replacing the rear wiper blade on my 2015 Vauxhall Mokka 20210723. Mark Paul has sharp eyes and commented "when you go to fit the rear wiper blade make sure you turn the blade around so the cover fits properly not like this one on the video clip as the blade is sticking out at the end". I hadn't noticed, must be my poor eyesight. I have corrected it now. In fact you can't just turn it round, you have to pop the plastic clip out first and reverse it otherwise the clip doesn't seat properly, but easy enough to do. 😊

Seems clueless,very poor vudeo
Thanks, did I claim to know what I was doing? And did I get the job done? And why did you watch the video if you are already an expert 🤔
Main reason I love this video is that it shows not just me that has to fight to do something that should be simple! Thank you.
This is very true. You usually see polished videos where everything works easily and nothing goes wrong 😆👍
Reversing wiper blade works perfectly well.
Thank you so much for making this video. Your "little struggle" made it so easy for me to do the same job, and luckily I had a replacement wiper REFILL in my garage, so it was a simple £2 fix in the end rather than a whole wiper.
Reminds me of when I worked at an auto parts store. Changed endless wiper blades. So many mounting differences. Good job
It was that plastic cover that goes over the whole blade that gives the most trouble. I expect if I was changing them every day I would get the right technique, but I was glad I had already researched it on other people's RUclips videos. If I hadn't checked I would probably have broken it.
this video helps me every time that I need to replace my wipers :) thank you!!!
This was very helpful, other videos just show the cover lifting off, this one showed the actual problems of getting it off, used this to see how to replace the rear wiper in my own Mokka, it was very useful. Thanks for the video.
Thanks, you may notice I had it backwards, other people noticed and made comments, so I put the details in the video description. They were 100% right and it was an easy fix.
Thanks for the video, very helpful. After watching it, it took 2 minutes to change the wiper. Good note on changing round the clip too.
Glad it helped, Seasons Greetings 🎄⛄🎅🏼
Thanks ever so much 🙏🏾. We got a 2017 Mokka in September. Lovely car 🚗 but the wipers were toast. Got a set of 3 on Amazon, and successfully installed the front 2 by following the instructions in the pack.
There were no directions for the rear blade, and I was frustrated with the black plastic cover until I found your video 😃. Great stuff 👍🏽
Brilliant. Did you see the comment I added in the video description, when somebody noticed I had it the wrong way round and it was sticking out a little? I hadn't noticed, but they were 100% right 😊
@@GrandadIsAnOldMan I confess I did not see that part of your video until I had completed the installation. 🙈🙈🙈
Luckily it fitted under the cover properly 🍀 .
I actually used your video as a real-time guide, repeatedly pausing it to catch up with you as I fixed the blade. 😁😁😁
@@oladipoakinla8374 I am glad it worked for you. I did the same, and looked at RUclips videos before I started 😆😆
Tks a million, and a great video, easy to follow. Life saver
Glad it helped, I hope you saw the pinned comment that pointed out I had the blade the wrong way round,. After reading the comment I went out and corrected it, but there is no way of "adding a bit" to the video once it is published 😊
Excellent video, thank you! Just had to replace the rear wiper blade on my Mokka and obviously the new one came with no instructions! Followed this and worked a treat.
Thanks, I hope you spotted the update about getting it the right way round. A sharp eyed chap noticed I didn't get it quite right in the video and I had to turn it round to fit properly 😊
@@GrandadIsAnOldMan I did indeed spot that part!
@@marks9351 great, if it was possible to add an "addendum" to an existing video I would have updated it, but the best I can do it put it in the notes 😊😊
Brilliant video, thanks for the help! Just been to halfords to buy this wiper and the staff told me it wouldn’t fit and that I needed to go to Vauxhall! watched your video, went back and bought the wiper and I’ve just done it myself! :)
Brilliant. Did you get it the right way round? You will see in the comments and my video description, that I had it sticking out a bit because I didn't get it quite right first time. After reading the comment I went back and got it right. It works fine either way, but perfectionists would want it right 😊
@@GrandadIsAnOldMan I did yeah! I’d read some of the comments before I put it on :)
@@sophieshearing1576 double brilliant 😊😊👍
Thanks for your video. I finally got it after lots of trying
Thank you 😊
Good to see you have an English car, I love vauxhalls!!
I guess some of the parts might be manufactured here, you never know nowadays, but I doubt it was even assembled in the UK. It is very difficult to get a straight answer when you try googling a simple question like "What Vauxhall cars are made in the UK". I did find this handy little item - Vauxhall - Owned by France's Groupe PSA (Citroen, Peugeot, DS) since 2017
@@GrandadIsAnOldMan I believe Mokka's are made in Korea. A lot of the parts do come from there.
Multumesc ptr.tutorial
Thanks m8
Woooo thank you!
Thanks for the vid.
Thanks for watching 😊
Thanks for that video G-dad, technical descriptions are spot on - clippy bit, springy bit etc and very much my sort of language. (You aren't BT or ex-BT by any chance are you lol) ;)
Thanks and yes, ex-BT😊
Thanks for the video, I am just about to change my Mokka rear wiper and found your video very useful.
Thanks, check the video description (or the comment by Mark Pool that I pinned to the top of the comments) as Mark noticed I had it backwards and it didn't look quite right 😊😊
@@GrandadIsAnOldMan Will do and thanks, I did read his comment and saw in the video that you had a bit leftover :)😀
@@DavidSuttoninSpain I didn't think it was worth reshooting the video and he deserves the credit for spotting it 😊👍
Great video, solved mu problem of removal and replacement.
Thanks, please check my video description, or the comment by Mark Paul, who spotted an error in my video. He is 100% right and it only took me second to turn it round so it fitted better.
Thank's mate great help
Did you spot the pinned comment about getting it the right way round 👍👍
Thank you 👍🏿
Yeah well done Gdad……good to see you doing a ‘normal’ thing if you know what I mean.?
Laughed at the technical terms, a “clippy bit”. and then the ‘springy bit’ to be used for future projects 😁👍😎
Hey, thanks Jag. This is about as far as I would go on a modern car. Don't want to touch the engines any more. 😊👍
Sehr gutes Video wo alles sehr gut erklärt wird, ach die Bilder am Schluss waren eine gute Idee
Thank you
Very helpful thanks
Make sure you get the blade the right way round, details in the video description, and the pinned comment 👍
👍😁
Nice fix. Easy diy job which saved you a few buks at the dealership if they would have put it on for you. 👍👍
It was that plastic cover that goes over the whole blade that gives the most trouble. I expect if I was changing them every day I would get the right technique, but I was glad I had already researched it on other people's RUclips videos. If I hadn't checked I would probably have broken it.
where did you get your black cover for the wiper blade as I have been trying to get one for my car, as it is missing? I would be grateful for your assistance.
Sorry, that was on the car when I bought it so I can't help you.
Good fitting i need to replace mine on Nissan Xtrail soon
I was 'amused' when I had it MOT'd last time. Wipers are usually the sort of thing most garages will tell you they "had to replace to get it through" as it is an easy item for them to add to the bill to inflate it, but the car apparently sailed through the MOT with no problems. I had pre-checked the wipers myself and decided they would need changing and was surprised when they were not on the bill. So I decided to let "a professional" do it for a change and went to Halfords. It was painful to watch and they didn't have the rear wiper in stock. Looks like I will go back to DIY in future.
Vauxhall Mokkas in the US are branded as a Buick Encore
Good to know how to change the wiper. We got a Moka about three months ago. So far it seems to be a good running car compared to the Vauxhall Crossland which we had previousy. I found it surprising it had no handbrake lever, just the pull-up tab, and the auto-release handbrake when you pull away. One thing I don't like about it is the driver's assistance feature which I always turn off. It has a thing where the steering wheel gets jerked to keep you in the right lane. The first time it happened to me I really got a fright. They should never have messed with the steering. If you need all this "drivers assist" set-up you should not be driving, in my opinion. Other than that it is a good car.
Sounds like yours is newer than mine, I don't have those features. My daughter's Vauxhall has that funny handbrake tab. Mine does have 'hill start assist' where it sticks the handbrake on whether you like it or not. And it has the 'stop start' technology where it switches the engine off when you are stationary. It has done that several times when I am in motion but I have dipped the clutch briefly, very close to causing an accident a couple of times.
@@GrandadIsAnOldMan Yes, it is a 2021 model but I still do not like this driver assist feature. Especially when it mucks about with the steering. Other than that it is a great car. It has pretty good acceleration which kicks in the turbo when you are in 2nd 3rd and 4th gear. Has 6 gears altogether. The first time we have bought a brand new car so we will see how well it does as time goes by. I was always dubious about buying a new car but she wanted to go for it and I won't argue anymore. 🤐👍
Good Friday morning to you sir and your family
Good morning David, it's a wet morning this morning. Don't fancy going out to feed the birds yet.
Thanks for this! It'll come in handy if I need to replace my Mokkas rear wiper. 😁👍
It's just getting that plastic cover off, that is the issue. If I hadn't checked out a few RUclips videos first I would probably have broken it.
You mean you watched this video without needing to change a Mokka rear wiper?😅😅😅
Just tried fitting Bosch 251 wiper blade on our Mokka rear screen but if you turn the wiper around ,as Mark Paul suggests the fitting is then upside down and is unable to clip in the hole??? Yes the blade fits but its not secure .If you measure the Original blade its a couple of cms shorter than the replacement Bosch one.
Not sure what your problem was, but he was 100% correct. At 03:23 the way I am holding it, there is a hole to the right of the pivot. You need to turn the wiper round so that hole is on the left of the pivot. After reading his comment I went out to my car, took it off and swapped it over. It fitted perfectly and has been working fine ever since. Perfectly secure, no problems. In fact after reading your comment, I just went out in the rain and double checked what I had done. This video is just short of a year old and it has been working fine since fitting it last July.
Just thinking, you need to flip the pivot over so it points the opposite way, so it all aligns correctly, maybe you didn't do that.
Thanks for this, doing mine today, and after fighting with the front ones last week it is just what I needed! Why are these things so awkward to fit, and the instructions are always pants!!
Thanks, I did get it wrong, slightly. See the pinned comment, or my video description.
Your car seems like an Opel but it is Vauxhall right ?
Maybe read up about the links between Vauxhall and Opel, basically just the badge is different en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vauxhall_Motors
@@GrandadIsAnOldMan Thanks for enlightening me grandad :)
Really shocked, was making the same, if you are buying this type of Bosch wiper it is not suitable in that very position for changing, because it is bigger than original.. to make it work you need to remove plastic hook holder on the wiper and reinstall it in the middle position, without it you will never suit this wiper under protection cap. Correct your description, because it is not correctly written what to do, remove and reinstaling hook holder is another video story, that's why thumb is down. Also the same story on chevy trax, Buick encore and this mokka.
Maybe yours is different. This is exactly the right wiper for my car and fits perfectly, once I realised I had it reversed.
unable to fit the plastic cover back on...what an absolute ballache
You need to get it lined up right
@@GrandadIsAnOldMan thanks for the reply...trust me I have been trying for 45 mins now lol...giving up
@@GrandadIsAnOldMan Got there in the end lol
Fitting it back was rather difficult 🤓
I finally got it on the 4th or 5th attempt after properly positioning and aligning it 😎
This guy did not know what he was doing! Study the Haynes instructional video on line instead For the cover, you lift it at the spindle end and push it off
You are 100% right. However, having paid dumb and dumber at Halfords to replace the front wipers, I decided to do the rear wiper myself and share the experience 🤣
They make everything so stupid now on cars. I definitely prefer early 70s or older vehicles.
Back in the 70s I did all my own maintenance on my cars, but after a long spell of having company cars maintained for me I really don't want to get my hands dirty any more. I even took my wife's car to the company garage to get it serviced and MOT'd as I knew the mechanics and new there was no advantage to them to do unnecessary work to boost the bill. Now I am retired I have the car maintained and serviced by the dealers.
@@GrandadIsAnOldMan yeah I think I would have a hard time with some of the new vehicles because of all the computer sensors that I don't have a clue about. I can fix any vehicles up into the 90s if I had to but I enjoy working on the old ones
You should have looked on youtube before changing it...
Gosh, with over 10 years of constant video uploads to RUclips and over 10K videos sitting here on my channel, it would not occur to me to look at RUclips first. If you check my playlist in the video description - ruclips.net/p/PLA5a2xPRSrB3rapxYT66UIPS_3gi9TuGo you will see the first video on the list is one by Chad Williams on how to replace the wiper 🤣🤣
too long
What is too long? The video? The blade is the right one. Check the video description and the pinned comment.
