The Rode MAGCLIP GO (mag clip magnetic clip) - Is it worth the money?

This is a quick look at the Rode MagClip Go (sometimes listed as Mag Clip). If you have a Rode Wireless Go or Wireless Go ii you might want to look at this as a more convenient way to place your transmitter where you want it. And if you want to hide the mic under your shirt, this is a neat way to do it.
You can just use it with items that have hotshoe type mounts as well, so it's more versatile than you might think.
So is it worth the money? For a tiny magnet it's probably overpriced at £15, but it does the job really well. You could possibly use any kind of small magnet if you can get one the right size, but it is nice to get the official accessory sometimes. I'm impressed with how strong the magnet grip is on the back of the Rode Wireless Go.
The thing I like most about it, I guess, having used it for a while now is that it looks much neater on the front of your shirt than the actual mic unit does. The small oblong magnet doesn't draw attention in the same way. I tend not to use the mic with a lavalier mic attached, but that would be fairly discreet too so you might not need the Mag Clip if you always use a lav mic.

At the end of the day Rode is in the business of selling gear and this little piece of equipment is hardly an "essential", but I'm glad I have it!
