At least 44,000 Afghans approved for relocation to Western nations after the Taliban's return to power remain in Pakistan, according to the Foreign Office.
Since the Nato-backed government collapsed in August 2021, over 120,000 people have been evacuated from Kabul. However, many Afghans promised new lives in Western countries are still waiting in Pakistan.
