Nope, the "right" ending is exclusive to dark souls 3; becoming a lord of hollows and starting the age of man. Getting the dark soul is necessary to paint an eternal world that I doubt we are meant to know what its going to be unless you want to speculate that it's the world of bloodborne but I don't think we are meant to know what world the nameless painter decides to paints.

good shit, just beat sl1 ng gael myself, that fight with rolling has to be the most intense fight in a dark souls game, like gael rewards aggressiveness more than some bb bosses
Just beat him on SL1 as well, and I honestly think it might be my favorite fight in the series. It takes cues from every good fight in the series and really doesn't feel like it has a single cheap, unfair, or bullshit move, hitbox, or mechanic.

This should be a difficulty setting in the game. Just add in a feature that disables level ups, you can only pick the deprived and disables your roll and block buttons.
