I’m gonna miss you in Megadeth Kiko! I don’t know if you remember this but you and Megadeth came to Berklee College of Music in 2016 and we jammed! I’m the guitar player of the group and the way you and Dave broke down Tornado of Souls changed my life. To hear how you analyzed the harmony of that solo made me do the same with every solo I’ve learned since. I love your songwriting on The Sick, The Dying, and The Dead, I wish we could’ve heard you play more of the songs live!
Loved your contributions to the songwriting in The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead! As a hardcore Megadeth fan, you were truly Dave’s first real partner since Marty. A video about the Dogs Of Chernobyl classical guitar intro or the Night Stalkers riffs you wrote would be fantastic!
This x1000! His contributions put the album in my top 5 of favorite Megadeth records. Dystopia isn't too far behind it either. Both felt like breaths of fresh air. But TSTDATD is a special album, and Kiko is probably the biggest reason for that!

Ou o riff da "Killing Time: Chapter V" foi inspirado na música "Faster", do Within Temptation ou é uma coincidência bem grande. São riffs bem parecidos.
The added importance of using secondary dominants is that such functional harmony can be harmonized more readily. So rather than having a cool riff that sounds great but is hard to harmonize, using classical-harmony techniques in guitar means classical harmony rules can be used for other instruments like the bass or other guitar parts. From that standpoint, this song could have been improved by using countermelodies in the Bass part, rather than simply doubling the guitar part. The Bass parts of songs which have countermelodies to the guitar part will end up really catching the ear and make songs stand out very well.
Dear Mr. Kiko, Your videos regarding Megadeth's moments always touches me. It feels like i am listening all of your working experience with Megadeth by sitting next to you. Eu fiquei muito impressionado quando ouvi esse disco pela primeira vez e como você conseguiu realmente achar o seu próprio estilo no MEGADETH nesse disco... Não que já não tivesse muito de vc lá no Dystopia mas nesse eu senti muito mais vc sendo vc mesmo... e quanto riff sensacional vc trouxe pra banda! Night Stalkers, We'll Be Back, Celebutante e até essa Killing Time também, logicamente! Pra mim esse último foi o melhor disco da banda desde o Endgame mas admito que acho ele melhor até do que muita coisa feita na era considerada clássica da banda como nos discos Youthanasia, Cryptic Writings e Risk. E sua saída da banda de cabeça em pé, sem briga com ninguém, com até o Dave Mustaine te elogiando até hoje só mostra que além do grande guitarrista que vc é, o grande ser humano Kiko Loureiro não fica nada atrás!
I always had a doubt regarding "Killing time" (my favorite megadeth song so far) and it's about the final part where dave says "So hateful, kill my time" you can hear a guitar in the background that at one point looks like a part of "Conquer or Die" from the album "Dystopia", I don't know if it's based on conquer or die or it was coincidence Conquer or die: 2:12 Killing time: 4:44

Rebirth through Aurora Consurgens still better than all megadeth albums combined, love you kiko. I got into metal around 2001 as a kid and you can guess what album I preferred between Megadeth and Angra it wasn't close, and I'm American. Still like Megadeth though but power metal beats thrash by a million miles; i only liked thrash when i was an unguided pimple faced teen.

Hello, Kiko! Could you please tell us how exactly you decide which idea is good and worth developing, and which idea is “good at the moment” as you said in this video. I used to record my ideas too, and the moment I struggle most is always gonna be choosing riffs those are good enough to spend more time for them during the recording. What’s your secret? 😅
So Dave was never in the room when you did the recordings of the riffs? Did you at least jam together sometimes? My definition of a band was always a pair of guys in a practice room together jamming and being creative while having fun. Beeing a professional musician in a top tier band doesn‘t seem to work this way… Do you have like a jam band where you live?

I think, the reason he quit is Marty for concerts in Japan. Dave made amends to Marty for the incident in '92 and Kiko has had to be a part of it.

I got into metal around 2001 as a kid and you can guess what album I preferred between Megadeth and Angra it wasn't close, and I'm American. Still like Megadeth though but power metal beats thrash by a million miles; i only liked thrash when i was an unguided pimple faced teen.
So sad you left but I’m sure you had your reasons.

Principalmente da We'll Be Back. Lembro de ter assistido um vídeo até que antigo que você tocou o que viria a ser a intro dela, só que lá você estava meio que se aquecendo no hotel ou algo assim, eu não lembro exatamente qual vídeo que é... faz muito tempo que vi.
Mas quem diria que uma ideia para aquecimento iria fazer parte de uma música tão foda.

This riff reminds me of my favorite Megadeth-riff, the riff in This Was My Life on Countdown To Extinction! I bet that riff inspired you to write this also great riff!

Hello, Kiko! Could you please tell us how exactly you decide which idea is good and worth developing, and which idea is “good at the moment” as you said in this video. I used to record my ideas too, and the moment I struggle most is always gonna be choosing riffs those are good enough to spend more time for them during the recording. What’s your secret? 😅
So Dave was never in the room when you did the recordings of the riffs? Did you at least jam together sometimes? My definition of a band was always a pair of guys in a practice room together jamming and being creative while having fun. Beeing a professional musician in a top tier band doesn‘t seem to work this way… Do you have like a jam band where you live?
