98 ford f150 4 3 v6 m50d trans clutch replacement pt8 - clutch install and pilot bear replacement

had to put a clutch in a friends f150 4.2 v6 with m50d transmission. i always check youtube to see if anybody has posted any tricks i dont know of yet. didn't see many good videos on it. so ill post some. problem is after i get the clutch on, both my cameras die for different reasons, so i didn't get to video the installation. its just the reverse of the removal.

I am stuck putting the transmission back it won’t go into the pilot bearings 😢😢

did you change the pilot bearing? if so put your old one up to it and make sure they match, maybe they gave you the wrong one. if its the right one and seated in there properly then it should go. to make it easier to align, get 2 pieces of all thread the same thread as the bolts, and screw them into 2 of the transmission bolt hole opposite of one another, then use those to algin the trans as you push it together. that will align it prefect. if that doesn't work, something is wrong.

What did you use to remove the bearing ?

i usually pack the space behind the bearing with grease. then take a socket that just fits in the center of the bearing and hit it in there with a hammer, and that usually knocks it out. i dont remember what happened this time, but i rented the pilot bearing puller from the parts store to get this one out
