Congratulations on your achievement! Instead of saying, “Adobe has improved…,” you now get to say “WE have improved…!” You are a perfect fit for that role, and glad to know that knowledgeable people like you are on the team!
A huge congrats to you, Brian! I bought your LR course yesterday and I am so pleased with it. My winter project is to learn LR everywhere and how to use my iphone 16 pro max efficiently. I will be 70 soon and feel the need to "keep up" Thanks for helping m in my endeavour!
Congratulations on the credit! I'm sure that it's well deserved. This is the first of your videos that I've seen and it won't be the last.. Subscription earned.
Great video as always and a huge congratulations with all your work with the Adobe team. I was able to attend some Lightroom courses/mini seminars in San Francisco years ago and I was blown away at all the talent and resources within Adobe.
Congrats to you and your colleagues on making the best photo editing tool ever! You have made me a better photographer and I thank you for that. And congrats on the nod from Apple, that should get you some exponential exposure so anyone who wants their work to look great will *have to have* Lightroom!
awesome, congrats! love to see LR grow, and welcome any and ALL quality of life improvements (please please keyboard shortcuts like LR Classic, at the least give us a zoom in zoom out 🙏
Congrats, Brian! Adobe made a great decision adding you to the team. Very appreciative for the new features in LR, so thanks to the team. Now if we could get a Versions indicator…. Maybe a word from our guy on the inside! 😜
hey brian! 13:30 was a revelation to me. I never know why sometimes i could not get objects to remove at the edge of the frame. I had cropped it first! Even though that problem is now fixed, that makes me feel less crazy about the past hahaha.
Hey Brian! Congratulations on the Adobe recognition! That’s awesome and you definitely deserve the credit. Now, about the updates….I’m sure you don’t remember, but some time ago I emailed you asking about when the “return to Lightroom after editing in Photoshop” feature might be added to Lr, because I was so used to it being in LrC. Well, we got it now! I’m thrilled to see the other updates too, but not so sure about the “cat eye bokeh” feature in Lens Blur. Who would ever notice edge bokeh not resembling cat eyes? I think that’s kind of funny. I imagine you and other Adobe software engineers discussing it: Fred: “Hey Brian, my mini panther’s eyes have the coolest shape, what say you about adding that shape to the edge bokeh in lens blur?” Brian: “Uhmmm, I guess that’s ok, but who would ever notice that?” 😂😂💜💜😂😂
Thank you for your video. rly nice update .im really excited about third party controller. i hope they is a Loupedock Support soon. i can add keyboard buttons now but no dials and all that stuff.
So It's like you have you name in lights Brian! Very happy for you. Lot's of goodness in this release that helps me. The gen remove change is big, And the multiple open in photoshop too. The alt text field will help me if i plan to export to multiple social sites that have and encourage it's use. But i'm delighted with the extended description field. Well, I guess I'd better try it out first. I was thinking I can use this for notes but if this is also exported I'd better be cautious. thanks
Upon further review, the Alt text field does not show up in a few social media places I tried. This may be because those sites strip out the meta data as one person suggested? No big deal now. We'll see what the future brings.
Congratulations on the credit. I help manage quality engineers in my day job and, like you, they are crucial to success. I'm happy to know you're part of the team.
Doh! I just had the oopsie generative remove after crop mistake on a pano, literally an hour before I upgraded. I should have watched your video first! And congrats on the credit; deserved.
Hi Brian. Big congratulations to you and the team! Also, do you know if Lightroom CC will be available for Windows on ARM devices? I’m desperate to know if it’s coming! Thank you for the great videos!
Enhorabuena, por tu logro a base de trabajo.Aprobecho a pedirte consejo para cambiar mi PC por uno nuevo,y que trabaje fluido y sin problemas al editar con Photoshop.Gracias
Hi, i'm not sure if i missed something about the first features you explained - but for two years now i'm able to select several images and open them merged as layers in one document or as smart objects or individual images. Seeing Videos for real estate photography several years ago teaching the flambient workflow by using exactly this - open several images in layers of one document. So what's the new cool feature on it in latest version?
@@brianmatiash Ah OK sorry - i'm confused about Classic and Desktop. Though it was the same when there is also Mobile and Web. Will check that out. Thanks.
First Congratulation, very well deserved. Second the only thing (ok besides the Map Module) I am missing is the new Adaptive Profile that is only in CR so far. Hope it finds it way into LR and LrC soon. I wonder if those three will merge into one Application down the road, or at least LR and LrC it is just weird that Adobe puts so much effort in three almost identical applications.
Great video and especially Smart Object support is much appreciated. Is there any way to round trip the original tiff back into Photoshop without creating another file?
Just spent 3 weeks with only an iPad on vacation. Shot 200 GB of images and video. It's really, really horrible. It actually crashes frequently during import among other issues. Functionality rather is limite, too. I will only use the ipad for transferring the data from the SD card to a backup drive from now in and I do not need LR for that.
@ it may depend on which iPad you have and the RAM. I use with Fuji GFX 100mp files and have never had a crash. I find the iPad version of LR covers 90% of what I need and am also used the LR web version in a browser for a few features. Haven’t used desktop in a couple years now.
Congrats on the recognition ! I double check twice to see if this was really a new video, As far as I remember I can choose multiple images in Lightroom, hit "edit in" and transfer to Photoshop. Am I missing something here? Neither "Edit as smart object" nor "Open as layers in Photoshop" are new either...I have used both of them many times in the past ....I'm really confused here 🙂
Congrats on your credit achievements. One note I wanted to share regarding something that you said in the video... For years I have been able to save a file launched from LRC into Photoshop, and see my updates in LRC without closing the file in PS. This has been and still is a part of my workflow... To save, and then launch and view in full screen in lightroom. I run my apps on a macbook... Not sure if things function differently on windows???
Nice video again! But can you make one of combining several images into 1? I think this only can be done in photoshop? So if I send 6 birdpics to FS as 6 layers, how can I create a new image holding 2 columns with 3 images under each other ?
Brian. Congrats on your appointment to the Adobe Lightroom development team. That's a real milestone. You highlight the 'new' feature of being able to send multiple photos to PS at once from LrC.. I don't get it. I've been doing that for years and never had a problem. Often, I select a background image I want for several images, then add those images to my selection and send them all to PS, where I copy that background to all of them. Then mask each one to let the background through, then save them and get the edits into the LrC catalog. That's been part of my regular workflows for a long, long time. I'm on Windows 10, so I'm wondering if this is just new for Mac, computers??j I can't imagine Macs being behind Windows, but can't think of how else this could be "new". Please, someone, enlighten me.
Congratulations, would be great if they would add a decent sharpening tool. Wouldn't need any other program then, especially as the noise reduction is so good.
Brian: I am newly switching from Lightroom Classic to Lightroom desktop and cannot figure out how to add the plug-ins I had in classic. Is the a tutorial to explain this if possible for the desktop version. (not syncing to cloud only using locally.)
If i'm not mistaken before you could open from lightroom w/Lr edit and even if your in Photoshop and CTRL + S you still didn't have to close out just to get full comp and it still saved in Lr and you keep working on open document....kind of counter productive having to close-out before saving in Lr wouldn't you say ?
With the new Lightroom desktop, do you still have to save and close out of your file in Photoshop for it to show up in Lightroom, classic you don't need to All you got to do is save it. But it seems like on the new one you need to close out of the document as well which means potential loss of layers depending on how you're saving the file
So when are these coming to LrC? Or perhaps better, when will LrD access a catalog and be able to use plugins? I feel like the Lr experience makes me use two Lr versions on computer, because neither one is a complete solution. Adobes resources spread too thin perhaps?
Congratulations on your achievement! Instead of saying, “Adobe has improved…,” you now get to say “WE have improved…!” You are a perfect fit for that role, and glad to know that knowledgeable people like you are on the team!
Congratulations on connecting officially with Adobe! It is well deserved.

I'm so happy to see the "open as layers" option. Great job team!

Great video, Brian. And great to learn about generative remove working with cropping. That has tripped me up a few times, and I didn't realize why.
Congrats Brian, well-deserved recognition
Contrats Brian on the Lightroom role! Well done and well deserved.
Congratulations Brian, absolutely thrilled for you 🥳

Congratulations on joining the Lightroom team and being recognized on the start up panel. That is definitely something to be proud of.
That’s really cool congrats. My wildlife rig is m 4/3 and I do miss the creamy background on my other kit. So the blur adjustability is very nice.

Great question
I wish Adobe would admit they are no longer interested in updating the iPad version.

True all of these options have been available in Lightroom Classic for years. The new feature is now you are able to do this from Lightroom Desktop.
